Algie had broken free of the police finally, not able to be held on suspicion without a single slice of evidence (and especially when he'd walked right in looking for Jeremiah). He'd stopped home only a moment, to check on the cat, but this time it wouldn't leave him alone and by the time he left the pair of them seemed to come to some sort of agreement that they should go look together."To the beach." Algie looked at Mogget seriously and was sure the cat seemed to agree. And thus man and cat ended up chilly, damp, and Algie at least with sand in his shoes as he paced and Mogget rode on his shoulders. Barely five minutes and he was miserable by the sea, and impatient for the 'witch' to simply appear. "SUNNY!!" He just bellowed upwards into the air.

"All you had to do was call," said Sunny from where she sat on the breakwater. Her boots had been discarded, and sand clung to her feet. The cat drew her attention first, and she slithered off the low wall to pad across damp sand. "I would've answered, mijito, I like you okay."

He blurted the first thing that came to mind, "Me or the cat?" Algie then put up a hand, what the hell was he doing, "Sunny- Where's Jeremiah?" Mogget trilled lightly, on his shoulder. "And Zac?"

"You? The cat's name is Mogget." Sunny fixed the cat with a gimlet eye. "...I think it's Mogget." She met Algie's gaze head-on, hands shoved deep in her pockets. Where was Jeremiah? And Zac? Zac was the boy, wasn't he. Yes. Okay. She still felt a little guilty, but she'd handled it, right? Jeremiah would fix it. He had the tools to do it, so it was on him now. Besides, he'd promised. So, she shrugged. "Around?..."

" It is Mogget.." Algie rumbled through gritted teeth. Honestly, her just appearing like that had taken a bit of wind from his sails but he was still upset, and worried. "Don't give me that," He'd heard more convincing versions of 'my dog ate my homework', "Around? Like other ashdown?" Between himself and Jeremiah's pooled information he had only the vaguest grasp of all of this, but even while he doubted that Sunny could be trusted, he knew that Jeremiah absolutely could. "People are just disappearing, Sunny. Everyone around me for instance!" He shook his arms emphatically, hands spread as he completely was lost for most words, "It's got to stop!"

"You're not following them," said Sunny. "You can yell all you like. They were ready and you're not, so hurry up and wake up already if you want to know where they are so bad." She regarded Algie solemnly, chin tipped up defiantly. "It's not my fault if you're slow."

"I'm obviously slow." Algie's hands squeezed into fists until Mogget bobbled on his shoulders and he carefully swept the cat down in his arms. It saved him from flailing like a crazy person. "It's like there's a big bloody secret that everyone's in on but me!" And he would yell all he wanted, thanks.

Sunny sniffed. "It's not my fault," she said. "They kept asking questions. So're you. I only promised you three answers, and if you want more you're gonna have to give me something else."

"I've already given you my integrity.." To take responsibility for what he found out, for what happened after. He didn't even know how far that extended but so far his and Jeremiah's cooperation had led to the detective's disappearance (or abduction) and Zac was gone as well. Were they partially his fault? "What else could you possibly want from me?" Mogget was clutched tight, smoothing over the cat's head more for himself than the animal.

Sunny was looking at the cat. "I want the cat," she said.

"It's not my ******** cat!" Algie actually violently grabbed and rubbed his own forehead. This was Zac's cat, one of those stupidly intelligent ones that talked back and ordered people around. He was pretty sure it bullied it's way into his house, as well as urged him to go out.... with it's wily cat ways. The cat squirmed a bit in his hands and Algie took a deep audible breath, "I can hand you the cat." It was not his to truly give. Wait- she wasn't going to blood sacrifice it or something... was she?

Sunny shook her head. "Uh-uh. Not good enough. If you won't give me the cat, what will you give me?"

It wasn't his fault he didn't own the ******** cat. Even if the cat was self possessed, he couldn't truly give it away. Mogget was set down on the sand though, to do what it wanted. It had dawned on him in the course of the conversation that he hadn't even taken care of the damn thing, it had taken care of itself. What could he offer? Why not push his luck?"Fully signed first editions of all my books?" He looked goofily hopeful it would work, "I based a character off of Jeremiah.." They were probably worth more than his soul at this point.

Sunny cocked her head to the side, eyes slightly wider than they'd been just a moment before. "Okay, it's a deal," she said. "What do you need to know?"

Oh thank christ.Algie took a deep steadying breath. "I'm not stupid. I know you don't want me sent there. If you did i would be there," ready or not. It didn't sound like some of the others were ready, and they ended up gone anyway. What was to say he wouldn't end up stuck as well, or some missing person. If Jeremiah was there, he would be helping - or trying to anyway. "How can I help them from here? Anything... Even the name of a person I can go talk to-" Someone that wasn't her, "About all of this."
