She was here again, at the Coffee Bean right by a tattoo studio. She had her laptop out and seemed to just be browsing the internet without much care. The girl had her hair tied back into a ponytail on the very top of her head, shades helping keep her bangs in place, legs crossed with a flip flop dangling from her toes. A bag sat next to her, obviously where she kept her laptop and cords; there were headphones in there, batteries for her mouse, and it looked like the end of a tooth brush sticking out.

All in all, this Japanese girl seemed to be living in the coffee shop. Everyone knew her order, knew her by name, knew the times she came in. So when she looked up and glanced at the counter in a contemplative manner, it was no surprise one of the girls behind it asked her if she wanted her lunch. Of course Rin nodded and tried to offer up her best smile, but it honestly wasn't much of one. The eye patch kind of ruined it. It was like she was unaware of the happenings that happened in the Rift and what not. She hadn't participated so honestly, she didn't know the specifics. She didn't care. It wasn't her business.

So as she waited, she scrolled through something, probably a blog, and glanced up to look around the coffee shop. It was suddenly crowded. Interesting.

Being unable to dance - or rather, being unable to do so without tearing himself open - meant that Colin Hargrove had quite a bit of "extra" time. Even with having taken to working for Quenton at the Cat Cafe, with PT and doctor's appointments, he found himself adrift and looking for things to be doing. Like wandering around Destiny City with his beloved camera, taking photos and the like...and trying out new restaurants and coffee shops. Sightseeing.

Coffee Bean was one of those places he'd only been to rarely; he'd never known it existed, but when he and the team had been looking for a tattoo studio to take on their Ouroboros-themed tattoos, he'd seen it and made a point to give it a try.

Colin went up to the counter to make his order, glancing around and noticing that - once again - the girl with the eye-patch was there. It seemed as though every time he came, she was there as well - the staff seemed on very friendly terms with her as well, speaking to her with a familiarity borne of a long relationship. It was interesting and Colin, being a nosey (and friendly) sort, felt like talking to the mysterious young woman would be very much worth his while.

If he could get her to talk to him. She seemed to mostly keep to herself from what he'd seen. Wait, is that a toothbrush? Huh, I guess I'm not the only one... Then again, Colin carried quite a few toiletries in his dance bags, so it wasn't that strange in his mind - he didn't have his bag with him this time (there had been no need, since he was recovering) which still felt awkward and odd, even after several months of not carrying it.

Colin moved to the young woman's table, placing his free hand on the back of an empty chair and smiling down at her, "Excuse me, Miss? Hi, I wondered if I could join you?" He gestured a bit to the crowd with his expensive chai and tried to seem harmless and welcoming, so she might not thing he was a weirdo, a mass-murdering rapist or anything like that. "I'm Colin, by the way."

A blond puppy dog came up to her and asked her to sit, and Rin motioned him to do so with her hand and nod. It was crowded, so she expected to share her table. Realizing she had papers and spiral notebooks in front of the other seat, she quickly reached out to gather it up and slipped it in her lap.

"Sorry about that," she mumbled, putting a pen in her mouth while she started to pack up the loose papers, putting them in the spiral. From there the notebooks went into her bag and she pulled that underneath her chair to give him more room if he needed it. He was taller than her, bigger, so she was trying to be somewhat considerate. She pushed one of her loose chunks of hair off her shoulder and even pulled her laptop closer to her.

"Got pulled in with the sudden rush, or did you lose your table by getting up to order?"

This is how small talk went. The only thing Rin wasn't sure about is if she could actually keep it up.

See, Rin wasn't good at this socializing thing. The last time she opened up to someone, he ended up leaving completely and giving her a place to live on top of it all.
