Spring was coming which made the herd could once again tread along the grasses that would soon brush against your fetlocks. The morning still whispered winter but everyone knew otherwise as some geared up to meet with their mates once again. The elder's residence with the two-legger Tirranna was always a sanctuary in those cold winters that nearly made your fur freeze to your skin. The two-legger could never understand such creatures such as the Soquili and yet she knew through the motions of her trusted friend the elder mare. The morning had just opened her eyes letting the sun peek through curiously to warm the ground below. There still was a bit of mist that lined the grasses in drops of delicate dew as they brushed against the white mare's feet. It was a bit chilly and yet it wasn't too bad soaking inward. The birds were already chirping away as the gentle creature made her way out of the campsite to the meadow just beyond. She shook her head with a yawn then lifted her wings for a stretch. Making a quick whooshing noise outer feather reached outward feeling the damp air that would soon be warm and delightful. She swished her tail momentarily then swiveled her ears. The peaceful premise of this world in this single moment was almost magical indeed. She shook her head again and looked around at the surroundings. The world was slowly waking up after its slumber except the songbirds heralding in spring in a few weeks. The world would be alive with new life which she marveled to have knowledge of twice in her life. Her beautiful children who were busy with their own lives taking mates and planning families of their own. She smiled to herself then nodded to the mare that was heading up to the meadow from the West. She was known as Melody for her special talent of song and determination.
"Melody! Tis a lovely morning is it not?" the winged mare spoke as her wings settled neatly upon her back not disturbing a feather that folded inward. She looked peaceful yet her expression was full of mirth and excitement. "The others? Did they receive the message as well"? She asked this gently with a softness to her voice for it was magical as it was beautiful.wc: 389

The pink mare in blue mane and tail tresses hummed a song as she trotted through the wet grass to her meeting with the others. Usually she would have sent the invitations herself because that's her way of doing things but today was different. Melody was the star of course and everything she did had to be just right. "Sweet music.." she sang joyfully as her hooves carried her to the meeting place. Spring was just around the corner and she was dying to ask Cotton how he felt about foals in their future. He was such a romantic of course with his poetry and magical nature to sweep her off her feet. She laughed aloud shaking her wavy blue mane for she knew she was indeed beautiful as she heard it from him daily most days. "And why shouldn't I be?" she asked no one in particular, "I am a famous singer and star of the show".
She laughed again then pranced a little looking around her. No more snow meant the days were going to be warm and playful for a while before the sun decided to scorch the ground and make it unbearable. Luckily, Melody knew where the best trees were for the best shade in all the land. There was a stream there too where she practiced her songs and lyrics within the confines of nature's beauty. Sometimes she would get a bit loud scaring a local bird or mammal that was in the vicinity. Embarrassed she would apologize then resume her current passion with her heart that beat faster when she could belt out a tune or as her namesake called her "melody". That was life she thought to herself being able to follow your dreams then sing your heart out to the world in a spellbinding session.
"Hey there Star Catcher... Sorry I'm late. I' was just working on a new version of the favorite song I've been singing. Its coming along really well" she mused with a nod. She heard another approaching and smiled, "Looks like Evanescence is here now".wc: 347

Morning. Inspiration as the dew droplets formed gingerly along each blade so beautifully. It was more than poetry but a strand called life that could saturate an entire canvas with color and design. This particular morning was mentioning spring as it slowly made its way into the spotlight. A single white mare with long green tresses in the lighter shades marveled at this world she set foot upon. Normally her companion Surreal would of been eager to see a new canvas but his cold reptilian form wasn't ready just yet to paint a picture within life. So, he opted to lie on the heated rock the two-legger fixed for him in the teepee dozing peacefully as he bidded her a good day. At first her spirits were down trodden but she didn't linger on the sorrow that would leave her alone. She had been summoned by the winged named Star Catcher along with a handful of others for what reason she couldn't fathom. She was happy winter passed taking the solemn cold blanket far into the mountains again. Her heart yearned to see her mate again so spring was an inspiration that flourished within her deep soul. She smiled as her hooves one by one took her into a trot that carried her through the warming grasess. She was nearly to the meeting spot in the meadow then she lifted herself on two back legs and hopped around as one would say. She followed this motion within in a circle so it looked as if she was dancing along the grass. As she followed the circle she could hear the birds chirping all around her as her ears swiveled to pick up every sound. Even the running water was lyrical as it cascaded playfully over rocks and other blockage that had formed in the streambed. When she stopped her motion the mare shook herself from muzzle to buttocks letting her tresses flow around her like silken strands. She laughed quietly then made her way in from the South of the meadow where she had been gathering mental images for her next art piece she may create.
"Hell Star Catcher and Melody. I hope you haven't been waiting too terribly long" she said as she trotted up toward them with a smile. Evanescence wasn't always so impulsive but the rhythm of life and harmony today couldn't be ignored. She nodded her head to the both of them taking in their scents and remembering their personalities. Star Catcher was of course the Dreamer capable of doing anything her heart told her. Melody the more excitable mare was the singer. She had an amazing voice and her lyrics were much like the art the green haired mare loved creating. But, who was left she wondered then it dawned on her as she saw the last mare coming in from the East side.
"Arwen. I'm so honored you could make it" she announced soft and sweet to the unicorn that arrived in almost a mystical sense.wc: 502

As her delicate hooves stepped among the dew filled grass a delicate unicorn stepped lightly not to disturb the balance around her. She believed everything carried a soul and within that soul there was a life force that connected to everything in the universe. If something precious were to be disturbed the balance of life would be changed indefinitely. So with careful footfalls she moved slowly through the dew that clung tenderly to each blade making sure to not disrupt what nature had orchestrated this morning. She had been summoned by the winged Star Catcher along with two others: Melody, Evanescence. The unicorn did not know why this occurred but she nodded in agreement should would arrive along with the others. Each of them would of course arrive from the different mark upon the world leading to the four Directions being North, East, South, and of course West. She was intrigued that this group of mares retaining their own magical properties would even include her for their gatherings. It had seemed an eternity that anyone had spoken to her let alone welcome her presence. She had forgotten the gatherings sticking to her own musings and wonderments away from any socializing since Aragorn disappeared without a trace. The same was said for Saissis' mate Nathaniel along with her son. Sometimes things misunderstood took a toll on a life then slowly faded away to be forgotten in an sorrowful dream. She knew her heart would forever miss him and still love was elsewhere waiting for her. Her life couldn't simply pause and wither away no matter how much she deemed it so. Essentially, the Elven unicorn whose beauty entwined with nature simply went off on her own to rekindle her thoughts once more.
But, this simple message delivered to her formed a new hope as she walked slowly there to meet the others. As she walked over the hillside she saw them standing there. Melody the singer, Evanescence the Muse, and Star Catcher the dreamer. She smiled as she walked up to them forgetting her endless pain of loneliness, "Oio naa elealla alasse" she spoke with a smile in her Elvish tongue that always sounded lyrical and somewhat not earthly. It was mystical as she was and just as enchanting.
Just to be clear that the others knew what she said she spoke in the modern language of most Soquili, "Ever is thy sight a joy" she said with a nod, "It's wonderful to see you all again". Now that they were aligned like the for corners of a compass they turned to look at Star Catcher. Each carrying a particular muse or personality yet they were all special enough to join this gathering and find out why they were there.

The morning was already opening her eyes as the purple mare with the mindset of an imaginative child stepped forth to reach the gathering in procession without her. She wasn't thinking much these days as her eyes darted from the sky to a lingering call of a loon down by the lakeside. Lately, she'd felt a little withdrawn taking time to herself to ponder things away from the busy world. To simply dream and step in that realm was her greatest longing now. Tooki and her welcomed their children after years of talk watching them grow fully to their potentials. A proud bloodline from her grandmother flowed heavily within. Each of the three bringing her joy and happiness in every stride an accomplishment they left a mark within. But, what of her personally knowing the background she was rumored for she wondered. Her friend who turned on her when the mare's heart opened itself up to others simply vanished without a word. The haughty mare with those jealous green orbs set within her beautiful head had been there as a filly growing to adult alongside Muse. She never thought anything of it with the jealousy either since they were both kids at the time. It was only when Story grew to the blossom of adulthood like Muse that she showed her true feelings and ran off hurt and disheveled from finally being called out. Story was a figment of her imagination yet she was as real as any Soquili was breathing life and made of flesh. The higher perk on the angenicorn's side was her unique talent to turn herself available at will. Perhaps that's why her wings were so translucent like glass that matched those eyes forever judging anyone in her path.
The mare sighed heavily then kept walking looking in all directions as she seemed to drag her feet. Perhaps she was looking for her friend whom vanished handful of years and yet she needed to learn to let go. Holding onto the past was just as bad as standing in a hardening agent letting yourself get frozen to one spot. "Story.... " she spoke softly looking up at the sky, "I hope you're doing well even if you are cruel in your words and opinions. I wish you all the best". She smiled a little then walked a bit more confidently because she had finally spoken heart and mind on the matter. Shaking her head she started trotting till she was at a smooth canter letting her long hair trail behind her like a living piece of fabric. She came South East of the other mares standing there conversing. At first she felt intimidated but she let herself know mentally they were not there to judge her.
"Sorry I'm late..." she announced as she trotted up and stopped to look at the others, "I just had things on my mind I needed to get resolved. She smiled softly with a nod then turned to look at Star Catcher since she was the leader of the group.wc: 508

Star Catcher stood there and breathed a friendly welcome to the other mares with their eyes intently set upon her. She smiled softly with a nod as she took in each of their faces, coat colors, and mainly their eyes. Only two in this group had experienced raising foals while the others were hopeful. But, that is not why she summoned them. Her own ideals were very special and in that recognizable fact she finally spoke, "I have brought you all here not of urgent need but a simple thought that graced my mind in a dream one day. I only wish to help our dearest elder and lessen her workload so she may spend time with Tirranna and the young ones that live around the teepee". She nodded her head then gazed upon them all before she spoke again, "As you all know we live in different corners of this land though we converge at a central point as if it's calling were defined by a song. All I wish of you is to update me with how things are where you are living currently. The weather, the nature, and most of all your thoughts on a day to day basis. I wish to update Celendria and let her know we are well. Each of you has a vivid, practical, or mystical way you see the light. Come... share with me as I make a wish".
Her voice was soft and feminine as her eyes sparkled from the rising sun. If Celendria knew things were fine her heart wouldn't worry so much for the herd she oversaw was growing day by day. She only wished the elder peace and tranquility in her thoughts as she aged gracefully. "Melody... you were the first to arrive. I'd like you to go first please".

The pink confident mare grinned and nodded her head standing up straighter. She was hoping to go first and honestly she loved the idea of giving Celendria less to worry about. In Melody's eyes Celendria was ethereal in a sense born of the ice and snow that caused her coat to glisten blue like the icicles that hung too closely to the streams. Her hair was a gorgeous white as her eyes were like the water always moving, studying, understanding everyone and everything around her.
"Sure I'll go first!" she announced in a brilliant voice that could of broke out in a harmonious song at any moment. She frowned for a second noting Honaw was still back at home probably napping. He usually was with her at all times except today where he seemed nowhere to be found. "As you all know I live in the West part of the continent with Cotton Candy my handsome mate. I spend a lot of time coming up with new songs and well he has his poetry. Let me tell you he has a way with words hee hee" she blushed with a love that burned in her heart for that sexy pink stallion. Most complained it was a little too pink but hey who was comparing here?! Seriously he was a the most amazing thing since sliced bread to a mare like her.
"Anyway... sorry to get off topic" she apologized, "We're out in the plains where the rains, sun, and cold weather seems to be at a minimum. The grasses are really tender there and well I hope that Cotton and I will someday have some little ones running around with us. It's hard being famous and living out so far from everyone. But, it's calm and there's been no signs of Kalona dragons nor walkers to report on our end" She took in a deep breath then smiled, "I think that's what you needed to know right?".
Melody looked at the other mares anxious to hear about their lives as well. It seemed as the years had traveled onward they all lost touch somehow. This is just what she needed to feel like one of the band again her only regret being Cotton wasn't with her right now. No matter she'd tell him everything when she returned to him again.
"Alright Evanescence you were next" she mused, "What's your story?"

The white mare in green tresses painted in art nodded as she looked among the others. The morning had wrapped her within its tender grasp letting the mare breathe the essence of life itself as the moment Spring would certainly make an appearance. She loved life with all its beauty and mystery since it was her canvas to work with and paint whatever scene she desired. She was amused hearing about Zaribe the Scarlet Macaw Stallion making a reference to his mate TTT.
Paint me a Rainbow and I'll sing my heart for you.
It was so very sweet and artistic in a sense. Each of the couples that made up this herd had some creative way they shared thier love which she could never tire of hearing about. Even though the dragons were vile they still had some magic and Inspiration to their mateship. It was all so fascinating to her just thinking about it! Imagine a canvas made of love simple and beautiful that painted the herd in colors of the rainbow and beyond.
Finally she spoke, "I've spent most of my time South of the forest with my thoughts and the canvas around me. I usually live with my mate but he's been traveling till spring which I'll see him again in about a week". She smiled then nodded her delicate head, "The winters tend to get harsh in the south and yet most are tamed. I may have seen some dragons but they prey mostly out in the plains. Things are pretty calm between the forest and the plains save foals that stray too far. I'd say we are more South West though in location.
She then swiveled her ears, "I think that's pretty much it for me now. Arwen you are next".

The mystical unicorn stood forever quiet listening to the other females around her. Adult in age they all seemed ageless in their youth no matter how she viewed them. This herd was eternally blessed by for the elder that looked over them. She closed her eyes letting her mind wander elsewhere to the ethereal forest that she now made her home within. Still her heart longed for her mate that was long lost ages ago but she pushed onward to speak with the gathers.
"In the North Forest edged to the mountains it is calm with a hint of spring that never leaves the spirit of the wood. Perhaps it is I that gave life to a dying foliage but it grows green with no decay. Spring has settled in as has the wildlife which makes my home a haven. I bring no news of a mate though as Aragorn has abandoned me. But, things must press on as our souls seek other realms. I haven't seen walkers nor dragons near my home as I suspect the forest wards them off". She nodded her head knowing that her words were short but there wasn't much to speak of concerning the North. It basically grew with vitality and ethereal joy whenever she spent her days there. It was a great way to escape from the dying world to simply live in the wood among the living things.
"I suppose that is everything my friends. Diola lle" she spoke in her own tongue then looked at Muse, "It is your turn young one".
She knew the youngest of them all came from a line a bit older than she in this land. Her ears were fully open to listen and acknowledge Glory's granddaughter. She did has a curious notion though where the imaginary friend was that was always with Muse. The little purple shooting Star mare seemed to be alone today.

The purple younger mare listened to the others her ears swiveling to catch everyone's words as they focused in their minds. It seemed Star Catcher was trying to lighten the load of Cenendria in the worriment department. The ice mare always kept tabs on her herd no matter how far they traveled or if something were to arise. In Muse's eyes Celendria was worthy of being their elder and Mother to Glory her own Grandmother. As she listened to each of their tales of their life and current well being she thought to herself on how her life was going thus far. Tooki had taken her places in which they experienced many things in their lifetime. The most recent being her two sons and a daughter to grace their lives. It just seemed empty most days without that boisterous haughty angeni to make her life miserable. The thought was indeed mad wanting some bad tempered mare in your life but she missed her terribly.
As the birds chirped along with the rising sun she closed her eyes and nodded to Arwen, "Life has been quite motivated for Tooki and I in the past few years. I've been on many journeys experiencing sights I've never dreamed of. We live down in the South East of course so if you see my mother please tell her to come and visit". She paused thinking to herself where Story was who had vanished the day Tooki claimed her as his mate. "I'm sorry" she whispered very softly. Her thoughts were catching up to her with a sigh which she knew would catch the other mares' attention. Shaking her head caused her braids to shuffled then return to hanging by her sides. "I think you're all questioning where my other half is that grew with me for years. Well when Tooki chose me as my mate she finally understood that we couldn't be "just the two of us anymore. Even though she was a mean and insensitive mare she was my best friend growing up. I just... well growing up I realized just how special she was well our friendship I mean. I just hope she sees the same someday". Muse hung her head feeling quite miserable knowing Story probably hated her though it wasn't something angeni usually acted upon. Story was simply an imaginary friend that actually found a soul and breathed herself to life.
Muse looked at the others her eyes glistening with tears, "No dragons nor walkers have been sighted". She wanted to run and hide feeling like a foal again for the fear of being judged as always. Clearing her throat she looked at Star Catcher, "I really should be going. I don't want Tooki to worry I've been gone so long". She felt horrible as head hung lower than usual this morning. Right now she just wanted to cry more then anything for the opposite of her life was emerging. She needed to reconcile with her friend and mend the ties that had been torn and scattered years ago.

The morning drifted along slowly as the mares spoke one by one. The sun was now lifting halfway within the sky causing a warmth to surround everything it touched including the band of mares. The birds were quite chatty as they chirped and courted one another high up in the trees. It wasn't unpleasant with all the noise they were making rather it was a sign Spring was definitely settling in for her stay with the area for awhile.
The white winged mare in long blue and pink tresses smiled, "Thank you my friends. It's so very hard keeping track of herd members whom branch off in their own directions to raise future generations" She spoke knowing they would soon depart leaving this particular spot cold and lonely. Magic resided in all of them that lived under the care of a mare born from the theme of ice be they marked with a flank influence or not. Each one carried such personality, compassion, and overall confidence leading their paths to a new destiny. Hopefully, she could coax them to update her with wonderment of their lives and leave the iced elder with a soft moment of happiness within her life. Each one of them she saw different aspects from a new arrival to the birth of children. The mares and stallions were a complexity that could only be defined as "magical" in each other's gaze.
Now it was time to say farewell as the birds chimed in sweet harmony..
She watched them recede from whence they came individually in their own desired paths. Indeed she'd relay this message which she herself had inclined to take her part within. "I wish all of you a safe journey" she spoke aloud after Muse had vanished over the ridge.
It had definitely been worth the muse that summoned her to gather them.
