Sakhile was facing something he'd never really faced before. Hybrid hate... He knew about it of course! Growing up in Neued you heard about all the trouble Alkidikes gave hybrids but because there was such a slew of people in Neued of different races it hadn't really affected him. Or maybe it was his well known mother that had kept him safe from it. But now, here on the border of Oba, he was finding out that life had its downs.

He'd gotten separated from his friends; mostly because one saw some matorians and went to talk, the other went shopping for food.. leaving him by himself to wander the small village. he'd felt the eyes and heard some whispers but had passed it off as his hair just attracting attention. The dark purple was not a color seen often but had never gotten him hate before.

The drunk had caught him by surprise and Sakhile found himself backing up as the taller oban grabbed his shoulder and spun him around.

"What -re ye? Yer not colored right."
Sakhile stared up in surprise; he was currently in his day time skin of the dark black blue... but surely they knew of shifters?

".. A shifter?" He asked back innocently as he tried to get away from the smell of alcohol.

"Shifters ain't purple."

"Well. I have a bit of mix from the father's side."

"Filthy hybrids! The Gods made us pure fer reason! We ain't supposed to dilute the blood our Gods made!"

He looked up in shock then smiled and shook his head. "That would be your opinion. But I'm sure that they'd prefer people to mix and be happy right?"

Oba could be a bit daunting. Nadiya sighed as she trudged through the sandy path. Certainly the girl had been here before, but that was when she had been with Ahren. Without her brother or the caravan, Nadiya felt as if the sands would never end. Still wasn't that a part of the adventure? The girl smirked at her own thoughts. I'm sure things would be much more exciting than this in any story. Then again how could anyone get anywhere without traveling? Not even the best of heroes could have so much excitement every day.

She was thankful to be in the village. While she had taken the help of some merchants along the way, the girl was still traveling alone. It was hard to carry a lot of supplies in such a situation so she had thankfully stopped in the market to refill her supplies. It had been fun chatting with the merchants. Despite her mother's past as a slave in Oba, Nadiya had been raised in the busier markets of Matori. Because of that no race was a barrier to her and the Obans didn't scare her in the least...perhaps that was bold of her, but so be it.

Humming softly under her breath, Nadiya had started back on her way when a sudden commotion caught her attention. Who? Shadiya frowned thoughtfully as she rounded the corner. Could they not? It made no sense for an Oban to be threatening some poor shifter. Though as she listened and studied the boy the girl paused. Hybrid? It was true, back in Jauhar she had never seen a shifter with such color hair or stones before. And here comes the purism speech. She rolled her eyes at the declaration. It wasn't like the boy got to pick his parents! What was wrong with hybrids anyway?

"Anything not Oban is diluted blood to someone like you." Muttered Nadiya under her breath at the last words before finally making her decision. "His hair is rather cute to me. What's wrong with that?" She boldly walked the rest of the way up towards the two, "I'm sure he's just passing by and won't be in your way any longer. There's more ta drink back behind you, so why don't you go that way?"

Despite being shorter than the pair Nadiya still attempted to to reach up and tug away the Oban's hand, "I'll take him out of your way for you." She just hoped that the thought of more drink would get the drunk away from the hybrid. If not then she truly wasn't certain of her next move...

I will let you decide how to handle the reaction of the guy since your girl is going to get most of it! XD

"Just walking about... though even if I was supposed to stay here his attitude is not the right way to go about things!" Sakhile shook his head and had to flip the long bangs out of his face. Normally he would have backed off with a laugh and left but.. it sat wrong with him that some Oban could just walk up to him and .... yell at him since he wasn't pureblood. He should have just let the Matorian girl handle it but that also sat wrong with him. He was supposed to be on a journey of self discovery and if he just slipped away from any danger than that wouldn't be a lot of self discovery would it? Just running.

"Wrong color! There's people of all sorts of--" His response was cut off when the Oban growled and tried to shove the girl out of the way.

"Hey now! Drunk or not you need to chill off there, pal." The teenager, confident that words would protect him and always be listened too, tried to talk at someone not willing to listen. "I get it, you don't like people not like me! Doesn't mean you should do anything bout it or try to hurt others trying to help me! I doubt your gods would appreciate you doing random violence to random strangers for no reason other than you're too closed minded to accept others!

Alright~

Well that could have went a lot better. The thought flickered through her mind as both the males seemed to get truly heated. Did the guy not realize that you shouldn't push a drunk? Flustered, Nadiya rubbed her arms where she had been shoved out of the way. It wasn't like she could just leave though. How shameful would it be if she just came in and then left so easily?

No good stories started like that!

Gritting her teeth, Nadiya moved forward. "You're right and I'm sure the man has learned a good lesson so let's move along now." She glanced towards the hybrid, "You can't change someone's opinions in just one day, especially not by yelling at them..." She glanced towards the Oban, "As it is you, sir, are obviously not fully here so I would appreciate it if you backed down. We really don't need to fight here-"

Not expecting the fist, Nadiya's gaze stung with tears as the man's hand connected with her face. "I don't need some slave tellin' me what to do! You're all filth and the gods don't want any of ya. We're the dominate ones, it's more shameful to let you filth run this place!" He spat towards the hybrid, "We've become a shameful people lettin' others rule our lives!"

"Rule your lives?" Nadiya suddenly spoke up, herself. "Last time I checked you ruined others instead! We just want peace, yet you are so arrogant that you think you have to shove others to get your way!" Perhaps it was the recent revelations about her aunt that busted the dam inside of Nadiya, but her emotions were rampant.

Yet, she wasn't upset enough to realize that as the man ranted he had moved closer to the hybrid. His fist sailing through the air, throwing punches in a drunken rage without thought, Nadiya decided to dash forward so that the boy wouldn't get hit. Instead the Matori found herself sailing towards the ground as her raised arms took the brunt of the punches. That will bruise. Wincing, Nadiya scooted up from the boxes. "Hey, you big bully! Why don't you try that again?"

Spitting towards him, a reply to his own previous actions, Nadiya brushed the dirt from her clothing. Hopefully that would be enough to take his mind away from the hybrid. "Please, run. I'll slip out as well. I really don't want to fight today." Her whispered words brushed past the boy's ears as she strode up towards the Oban.

She would buy him some time and slip away herself. She could already see an escape behind the burly drunk. She just had to dodge and run for it...just a few more moments.

shh no robo didnt forget you

Sakhile was shocked and angered at the oban's reaction. What sort of person acted that way? Hitting a person for no reason? Calling a free woman a slave, hybrid hatred, and arrogance...he'd heard the tales, from obans themselves in fact! But he had never quite believed that such people existed.. .Now he knew.

"No one rules over another! Only the gods can do that." Sakhile said, his pale grey eyes flashing. "You can take your arrogant filthy beliefs and shove it! Only place those words belong is a pile of trash."

Sakhile was not a fighter; never had been... but watching some girl get hurt trying to protect him was, he discovered, a little humiliating and painful to watch. He shouldn't be hiding behind someone! Even if they were older than him and probably knew how to fight unlike him.

He barely managed to duck the drunks flailing swings and tried to kick the man's legs out from under him. It didn't work too well since he was so much lighter and smaller than the oban.

He noticed that and hopped back a bit. Looking over at the matorian he paused but then nodded. "Alright. You sure you can get out though?" He didn't want to run away and leave someone to get the brunt of hatred that had first been meant for him.

Well at least the boy had some spunk to him!

Nadiya would have laughed if the situation wasn't so tense. What in the world had possessed her to walk into this again? Chastising herself for the inability to avoid stepping into situations, the girl nodded towards the hybrid. "Just move...I'll make sure drunky gets plenty dizzy."

She winked, "I'm pretty good at flying through alleys so I'll hopefully catch you a few streets across from here." It wouldn't be too hard to get a drunk dizzy - the hybrid had already managed to get the guy pretty worn out with his attempts at fighting. Nadiya smirked before she jumped forward. "Now come here you big lug...what type of Oban male are you? Can't even fight a girl?"

Oooh, that worked. Twisting on her heels the girl began to lead a chase that would end up with a drunk vomiting in some alley behind her while she darted through several twists and turns to get out into another street - hopefully far away from anymore obnoxious drunken buffoons! She just hoped the boy got away alright..
