It seemed like a lot of teachers were asking what he wanted to be when he grew up lately. He was used to that question from Miss Lyra, she asked it a lot!! And sometimes Mister Kirket asked, too, but he didn't really ask in a 'tell me right now' kind of way. He liked it better when Mister Kirket asked, he was a lot easier to talk to.

Honestly, Korvau didn't know what he wanted to be when he grew up! He just wanted to keep playing with his friends. Besides, being a grown up was ages off, wasn't it? Or, well, he'd thought it was until Mister Kirket asked him if he was excited to move into the junior dorms soon. He hadn't realized being almost grown up was so close. Where had the time gone!?

His poor little mind couldn't handle the stress of it. For a few days all he did was walk in circles, rather than run, and mumble to himself. What was he gonna do?? He wasn't good at reading, like Willow. Or math, or... science... or anything, really. The only thing he was good at was running, and swimming.

Couldn't he just be a swimmer?

When one of his caretakers finally got him to sit down and talk about what was bothering him, he'd almost been reluctant to open up about it. What if they brushed it off? He should be a Good Kid and Not Cause Trouble - at least, not trouble that would make others unhappy... This would make them unhappy, wouldn't it? Didn't all the other kids know what they wanted to be?

Much to his relief, when he finally did ask, he was reassured that it was okay to not know right away. Most people didn't! Immediately he'd felt relieved, and let out a big sigh. That took a huge weight off of his shoulders... Though, he was even more happy to learn that yes! People COULD swim for a living!! He'd have to work very hard, but maybe he'd be good enough to try out for the professional teams and swim in competitions and stuff.

That settled it.

He wanted to be a professional swimmer when he grew up! Korvau couldn't wait to tell his friends about his revelation.
