 The beach was peaceful in the night, just the light of the moon hitting the sand and making it shimmer like mythical dust left behind by the old gods.
This is when Mikala simply sat and listened, the breeze in the new growth on the trees not to far in the distance, the waves crashing against the shore, it was its own sweet song if someone simply sat and actually listened.
He took a deep breath of the tangy, salty air of the sea and felt at peace. His life was lovely, the constant traffic on the beach almost always kept him in company if he wished it. But it was now, when the night fell and the others drifted home to their families that it felt..cold.
He shifted his paws in the cool sand and smiled to no one, but he wouldnt complain, it simply wasnt in his code.

 "It's a Styrofoam deep sea landfill~"
She bobbed her head along, singing the most dreadful song, with a tone that was melancholy. The beat from the waves from afar, and in her head.
"To the dark dark seas
Comes the only whale
Watching ships go by
It's the day we try
It doesn't know"
She tuned and finally, it was by miracle. That she was there, finally. The beach. She had wanted to find it since she was young, and she sung songs about it, it's realization, but the traffic had came and gone by now. The darkness laid before her, she lifted her mask to hide from no one. Inhaling the sweet scent.
"If they hold you, whale
On a really hot day
When the call got made
You've gone away"
A pause.
"I'm here~"

Singing, someone was singing. Mikala's brows knitted together as his ears twitched at the sound, normally no one walked the beach at this time unless they were meeting up with their lover or something.
He glanced around, maybe he should make himself scarce, not wanting to interrupt someones special moment or what have you but for some reason he couldnt bring himself to leave.
Instead he simply listened to the odd little song being sung, it took him a moment to notice that he was heading towards the music, and not away from it. He paused when the female came into sight, surely she was here to meet up with someone, he should really walk away before being seen.
"Hello.." He said instead, mentally smacking himself. What happened to disappearing before being seen hmm? couldnt do that now.

She heard someone speak, and immediately, with one fluid motion, she covered her face with her mask.
"Hello~ how are you~" Still in a song song voice,
"I was wondering if you would like to meet~" Her face tilted, and so did the mask that hid it.
"I think I found my way home~" Her tail flickered. Then she looked out to the water, her blue hair falling where he could have seen her face- then she dashed in to the water. For a moment, she didn't come up... {{Songs used:

She actually...sung back to him. While he was trying to figure out if he was to sing back or not, suddenly her face was hidden by a mask...OF COURSE! Masks seemed to be simply a pain in his life, he thought gruffly and yet fondly of his nieces father, the masked jack a**.
But before he could respond, she was gone and there was a splash in the water, he turned and chuckled as he waited for her to surface. To be so young an-...wait she hadnt resurfaced yet.."Damnit." He muttered as he found himself bounding into the cold waters of the ocean, seeking her out.
He was quick to wrap an arm around her, and pull her back onto shore, dripping wet he looked down at her. "Its dangerous to swim at night...specially if you cant swim."

Instead of splashing around like she was mad, she seemed limp in his arms. Still melancholy, reaching out in to the ocean still. Her eyes draw to the mass of water around them- she was being pulled out in that instant- like a cry for help, or a cry to let her meld and become one with the ocean. Bittersweet feeling of floating in the abyss. It felt like eternity.. and she loved it... Now she was being pulled away, and air filled her lungs once more.
"I'm just a normal boy
That sank when I fell overboard
My ship would leave the country
But I'd rather swim ashore
Without a life that's sadly stuck again
Wish I was much more masculine
Maybe then I could learn to swim"
When finally she turned around to see her captor, her mask plastered a smile.
"I'm cold as cold as cold can be ~ Be" A soft whisper as she cuddled in to him. Rubbing the top of her head under his chin. "I thought of just your face, Relaxed, and floated into space, I'm sorry~ I want to swim away but don't know how~I wanted to feel the whales beneath me diving down." Bring her paws to her mask and pressing her mask in to her face as if she wanted it to -be- her face. Hiding...

She continued to sing, it took him a moment to understand that was simply how she spoke, he had to pick at pieces to piece together her meaning.
When she cuddled against him, he sighed and held her close for a moment, willing any body heat he might have left into her. But when he looked down, the glossy eyes of her mask squinted back at him, he almost sighed and wondered what she looked like behind it.
"Well if you come during the day, I could teach you to swim and how to enjoy the oceans depths safely."

"Yes, Mr. Todd, yes, Mr. Todd
Yes, all around." She perked her head out of his fur. Of course she was cold, but she wanted to dive deeper in to the ocean. "These are desperate times
Mr.Todd and desperate measures are called for..
Here we are, now, hot out of the sun." Softly moving back and saw just how drenched she was. Looking at her paws bewildered, she was shivering- facing back up to him. The mask covering just how surprised she was as she slowly went back in to his embrace. It was warm, and she was too cold to leave his side again. "She's as cold~ as Ice~ She is cold as ice to me." Lifting up her mask just enough to show just her maw and whispered.
"Runaway Runaway Love
Don't keep running away
I'll run away with you, if you want me too
And picture us running away together,
When we come back everything is gonna be okay,"
Sliding her mask down- except the smile on the smile seemed even more creepy now, even mocking with that smile... It makes one wonder who was behind it.
