Dimma was finding it a bit weird to settle into the new pack. He had left his entire family behind to move along. He had grown up in the other pack, but he wanted an adventure! That's when the poor black and white male discovered he wasn't much for adventures.
Even so, he had met his mate on that brief adventure. She was lovely, and far more adventurous than he was. She was a Soldier! And he was a healer. He was far more reserved than she was. It took him a while to settle into a routine.
He was in the middle of that routine now. When the sun was at it's highest, Dimma often took a small break, exploring the lands. It was always good to know the pros and cons of the lands you lived in. He grew up in a pack where resources were limited, so he noted the usable ones when he could. This pack had far more resources than his old.
It was a nice day, he decided. The breeze was nice against his fur as he took his walk, only pondering for a moment where he could find his mate, or someone else to enjoy his break with.

 Somehow, somewhere Izipho was lost in her mind again as she wandered the pack. Where she was honestly, she couldn't tell you, but the Queen needed to get members into the pack. Their numbers were low, there were no pups. If this continued there'd be no pack at all to rule and everything she worked for would be for nothing, and that scared her. The brown dog moved with a heavy weight upon her shoulders and her ears pinned back. She knew there were mates within her pack, and yet none produced offspring. Were the lands cursed? "I hope not.. I hope I didn't make a mistake in the location.." She whined low in her throat before pawing the ground a bit and finally sitting down. Ugh. This nice day was ruined because Izipho knew she was getting to old to produce more pups, and there was no clear mate for her daughter.. She wanted pups desperately in the pack. "Even if I have to have them myself." Well if anyone stumbled upon her talking out loud she'd sound a little crazy.

Dimma wandered a bit further away from his spot that usual. That was fine, though! He liked exploring, though he did not much line adventure. He was more like a pup allowed to leave the den for the first time. He liked boundaries, and structure.
New things were nice though...
Dimma's walk was stopped short when he heard a voice though. Curiously, he cocked his head to try to hear better what was being said. He didn't quite catch the words, though, and he found himself changing his course to seek the source.
What he found was Izipho, the Queen. "O-oh," He said outloud. Perhaps he shouldn't intrude. "Is something troubling you?" He asked instead.

Izipho blinked upon hearing a voice and she turned her head to see who it was. Dimma, wasn't he? She honestly tried to know everyone in her little pack. Slowly she smiled at him and shrugged her shoulders. "Ah, just thinking of things for the pack. Trying... to encourage more to come to us, have children. It's..." Izipho looked a bit helpless as her tail thumped once on the ground before shifting to stretch herself out and then shook her fur out. She was no young thing anymore, it was obvious with her careful movement, but she would win in a fight. This lady was no pushover and would defend herself and her pack until her dying breath. "Sorry if I worried you. Are you alright? Is there something you needed?"

Dimma hummed. Yes the pack was small, but Chryso had found this pack for them. Perhaps more would venture to the pack as well. Having puppies in the pack would be wonderful. Dimma grew up in a pack that his siblings were the only litter ever born before the pack festered out and died. It was kind of a horrifying thought that this pack could meet the same fate. He felt a shiver down his spine at the thought. "The pack will grow," He said, with some sort of confidence, or at least his brand of shaky confidence that he carried outside of his Healing. He paused tho. "I'm alright, I was just going for a walk," he told the Queen. "Would you like to walk with me a little?"

She nodded at his question and just sighed slowly. She hoped the pack would have pups soon. They needed young members, they needed... A lot. "I would love to join you. Thank you." The brown female gave herself a shake and just started to follow him. "...I know it's a new pack. But I fear it's a new pack is what makes others not want to join. For a brief moment," she started, brows knitting, "I thought about opening it up to... other species." Izipho didn't hate the others, she just wanted a place for her type. Just wild dogs. She had a pack a long time ago, and she just wanted a sense of family back.

Dimma gave a small smile as they walked. "Chryso and I found this place and decided to stay," He told his Queen. He felt the need to assure her, after all. The Queen must worry about so much, keeping the pack flourishing and growing. Still, too much stress could be bad - he was a healer, and he had seen what too much stress could cause. "The pack is young, but it will grow," He promised. This was a good place, a place where he could feel at ease. He wasn't starving or thirsty like his old pack had been. He didn't know if he would have joined a pack with other species if he was honest, though. It felt wrong, but he knew it had been successful elsewhere. "I'm glad it's only Dogs," he told her aloud a moment later. "It feels safer."

Her ear perked at the healer's words and Izipho nodded softly. Her expression tried to soften so she didn't worry him further. "I've worried you with my worry, haven't I? I apologize. Just.. With everything. It's a lot. I'm slowly working on something for the summer. It'll be a lot of fun, and hopefully draw others in." It was a lot of planning, but the Summer Races would be a lot of fun. For them. A break for her, she hoped. Even for a few hours, she could relax and breath. "I'm glad you feel safe here. That's.. what I was hoping to make, honestly. A safe pack. My daughter may have been an adult already when this pack came together, but I still wanted to make her feel safe."

Dimma smilled at Izipho. "It's the safest I've ever felt," He assured her. He was glad Chyrso found him and brought him to this place. She even became a soldier, to make sure he remained safe within the pack's lands. He could feel his chest swell with his love for her at the thought. "I'm sure whatever you have planned for the summer will be a hit," Dimma said kindly. He was a bit more cheerful now, a lot less worried. He had a little bit of bounce in his step as well when he walked. Peppermint Coffee sorry for talking so long with these and giving you crap replies ;;

The safest he felt. It made the queen relax completely at that and she nodded a bit. That was god. She was very pleased with that. The older of the pair looked out at her little kingdom she built up from nothing and just let out a slow sigh. She was still worried about the future. Izipho shrugged. She could only do so much, honestly. The rest was on faith and how she raised her children. "Summer will be fun. I think everyone's going to enjoy it a lot. And if so, it will end up being a tradition." Now the queen sounded a bit playful. She rose to all fours and gave herself a hard shake, dust flying out. Hazards of sleeping on rock or dirt floors, honestly. Ah well. "So. Tell me. What do you want for this pack? What do you hope to see?"
