 Duma was getting very used to his life with Theodora and the two Freshlings, Autumn and Theodore, that they had adopted. To be completely honest, the last few months had been a bit of a whirlwind of romance, cuddles, papers, and adjustments, but they'd made it work. They had found themselves a lovely home between Leviathan and Grendel with more than enough room to grow into and really couldn't ask for anything more.
... But there was just one thing that Duma couldn't shake.
"Hey, Thea? Could you come to the laundry room for a minute?" He called, folding the last of Autumn's dresses onto the top of the basket. "I've got something I've been meaning to ask you..."

 Theodora hadn't expected herself to settle so easily into a family lifestyle. Sure, she'd expected to help with Autumn when she moved in because Duma had already adopted her, but the way everything fit in so perfectly was almost surreal to her. She'd gone from being a single unemployed university student living in a dorm to having a house, a job at a hospital, a fiance, and two beautiful children that she'd never trade for the world. It all happened so fast, but it felt so right. She was meant to be here and this was her life.
"I'll be down in a moment, just fixing up the dishes!" She called, her claws deep in the sink. The amount of gunk a bowl could get stuck to it's sides was something she'd never thought of until she had children, and now it was something she had to marvel at every day. She scrubbed at what remained of the gunk and dried her hands, before descending the stairs to the laundry room.
"What is it?" She asked, peering at Duma curiously. "And why aren't you wearing a shirt? Your eye need a breather?"

Duma smiled as soon as he heard Theodora coming down the stairs and turned to greet her, only to laugh at her comment on him being shirtless. What, couldn't he wander around without a top on in his own house while the kids weren't around? Such baloney.
"Nah, I spilled jelly on it this morning when I was making Theo a sandwich." He replied, shaking his head. "You know, I never used to think about how bad some things stained clothes until I became a dad. Now it's something I need to keep in mind at all times."
He turned again, just to turn on the washing machine for another load, and smiled at Theodora.
"So, about the thing I wanted to ask you." He continued. "... How would you feel about imbuing some stones of our own?"

Theodora laughed. Oh, that's why. Well, it was just a curiosity and nowhere near a complaint. Duma looked wonderful with a shirt or without a shirt. He was her fiance, after all.
"Exactly, I was just thinking the same thing with the dishes upstairs." She said, sighing. "It's a wonder how we survived in the dorms without someone to do our dishes and clean our clothes, huh?"
She followed his movements, her lips pursing when he started to speak again, and found herself gasping at the question. Imbuing stones of their own? He... He wanted to have more children? But, this time... Together? Her eyes welled up with tears.
"I... I'd feel pretty good about that, honestly!" She exclaimed, wiping at her eyes. "D-do you really want to do that with me, Duma?"

Duma hadn't expected such a tearful response from his fiancee and rushed over to pull her into a hug. If it hadn't been for her response, he would have felt like a monster for making her cry! He kissed her on the cheek and rested his forehead on hers.
"Of course I do, just like I want you to be my wife!" He replied, taking her hands and kissing them. "We're going to be a family no matter what, I promise, but I would really like to see what a combination of our magics would be like. Can you imagine the possibilities?"

Theodora pressed herself into Duma's arms as he tugged her close and nuzzled against his kisses. His embrace was one of the best things in the entire world. He felt so warm and comforting, it was almost hard to let him go.
"I'm so glad, Duma, I'm just so glad." She sniffled, rubbing at her eyes again once her hands were free. "I've been thinking about this too. Imagining a little you or a mini me, maybe even a pair of twins running around after each other. Budding musicians, tiny doctors... I must have thought of everything under the sun, but I'm sure there's so much more."
She moved to snuggle him again, before pursing her lips.
"So, how do we go about this? Should we tell Autumn and Theodore?" She asked.

Duma's eyes lit up as Theodora spoke. It made him feel so good that she'd been thinking about having more children, too, espescially if she'd been thinking about what they could be like. It didn't really matter to him what his children came out to be, just as long as they were healthy and happy. But, it wouldn't hurt if Nine blessed them with a blue haired son. He couldn't quite shake that image.
"We could set up an appointment with the stone bank as soon as we're ready." He replied, before pausing to consider her question. "No, no, I think we should wait until we have our stones. That way it feels real to them, you know? Not just a possibility."

Theodora nodded. He was right, it would be best to wait until they had the stones and everything was ready. She was sure that Autumn and Theodore would be excited to be siblings, espescially because they were already so close to each other. It would be adding to an already happy brood. She could hardly keep from getting excited.
"Let's set up an appointment for when they're both at school, then we can surprise them when they come back for the weekend." She said, taking a breath in. "Oh, and we'll need to get baby things! Cribs, blankets, diapers, bibs, well, everything! When do you want to do that?"

Duma couldn't recall offhand when Autumn and Theodore would be away at school next, but it would be easy enough to look up on the calendar. This whole plan felt sort of like espionage in a silly way. Swoop out, imbue stones, hide them from the children, and then surprise them when they came home. He was sure they could do it, but it was still funny to think about.
"Ah, you're right! We should go now!" He exclaimed, turning toward the clean laundry pile and tugging out a shirt. "The kids won't be home for another four hours, that should leave us just enough time to shop a bit and hide everything. And, on our way, we can phone the stone bank! Sound like a plan?"

"Sounds like a plan, let's go!" Theodora chimed, taking Duma by the hand as he wiggled into his shirt. "I think we should get something neutral, like green or purple, but now yellow. I've heard yellow upsets infants for some odd reason."
Of course, in their haste to get out of the house and to the shops, both of them forgot their wallets and the house key, but soon enough they were on their way. The appointment was made for three days after, when Autumn and Theodore would be staying overnight at the academy, and they could hardly wait for that day to roll around. Meanwhile at the shops, Duma bought a set of blue and white blankets while Theodora found bibs and storybooks, and left with far more than they had originally intended. But, it only made them more excited for the beautiful future ahead of them.
