"This way, Arwach," Sebor said with a little sigh as she plodded along ahead of her brother. She had agreed to put a good word in with one of the Captains for the blue lion so he could become a Reaver quickly rather than waiting around in the pride lands and growing bored. She knew that if he was stuck in one place for too long he'd grow to resent his new home and that wasn't what she wanted. What she hadn't expected, however, was how much he'd dislike going out in a band of Reavers. "I don't see why we need to stay together," the lion said as he followed his sister a few paces behind. "I thought the point of Vikings was to go and explore and find glory and treasure." "It is, but you do it together," Sebor said, tired of explaining the same thing over and over. "But what if there's not a lot of treasure to be found?" "Then the Captain takes it and brings it to the Warlord, to keeps it for himself if he likes it. And if not, the Captain will dish it out to all that were there. Or keep it if he's an a**." "Puh...sounds like I need to become a Captain quickly then," Arwach muttered to himself. He hated being told what to do and when to do it, and that seemed to be the life of a Reaver. That really wasn't his style. He liked being in charge of himself and sometimes over others. Being a Captain seemed to be the fastest route to that luxury. He was so lost in thought that he didn't notice Sebor stop short, and walked right into her. "Watch it," she snapped, trying to back pedal and failing miserably. Instead the very crumbly cliff edge she'd come up to disappeared beneath their paws, and they went tumbling down a steep, deep ravine. At the bottom a thicket of thorns met them, tangling them instantly. "Ah! Look what you did, you big oaf," Sebor snarled as she tried to get free. She managed, but had quite a few thorns stuck in uncomfortable places. Arwach, with his large mane, wasn't having quite as much luck in getting out.

He was enjoying the pleasant weather they were now having throughout the lands and he had decided to spend the day traveling along the boarders of the pridelands and seek out anyone wandering nearby. He knew they had been preparing for some future war, so he was on a little extra alert as of late. His golden globs scanned as he moved his large frame into the rougelands heart. He had been fortunate enough to meet quite a few travelers on his outings and most of them had ended pleasantly, which was good. He never was one to get into a fight for no good reason at all. He was more of a proposition sort of lion, but he wasn't against fighting if it came down to it. He had the brute strength to do so. As he walked along he caught sight of movement ahead and as he traveled closer he realized it was two lions and the way they carried themselves reminded him of someone he had met a long while back. Either way, he figured they weren't from the area and were likely just passing through. Still, wouldn't hurt to check them out.

"Stop moving around so much, you're making it worse," Sebor said around clenched teeth as she pulled thorn after thorn from her paws. Arwach just growled as he continued to jerk his head back and forth violently, scratching up his face pretty well on the thorns swinging from his mane. He was still very stuck and no matter what he did he couldn't seem to get out.
"Arwach!" Sebor said, spitting out the thorns. "I'm going to tear you up worse than those thorns will if you don't stop!" The threat seemed to hold weight, because the large lion finally settled down although he wasn't happy about it. A change in the wind made him sniff and he snarled once more, although he didn't move.
"Great, now we've got company."
Sebor lifted her head from her work, narrowing her eyes at the dark lion on the horizon. She stood and ignored the pain in her paws as she put went on the thorns still stuck in them. If she had to fight, she would. There was no way she'd let some random lion ambush her and her brother.
"What do you want?" she called out before the lion could get too close.

As he approached the two he seemed to pick up they were arguing about something though he really couldn't tell what it was about. Though she realized then there was a great deal more to be had. Curiously he examined the two from his spot and stopped in his tracks when she called out to him. "I was just checking to see if everything was alright. I'm from a pride that isn't too far from here." He said simply checking them over. It appeared they had found themselves in a bit of a tangle.
"Do you two need any help?" He asked motioning towards their little situation with the thorns. He wasn't the best medic, but he knew a thing or two about removing them and having them removed as he'd been one to have one stuck in his paw at one point. He wondered if perhaps they were part of the same pride as the other lioness he had met once before, but who was to say. He didn't think he had ever asked her where she had been from to be honest.

A pride not far from here? Wonderful. Sebor's ears went back as she looked around, but there was nothing that indicated they were terribly close to a pride. Usually there were scents or markings on trees that would tell them if they were getting too close. This male was probably a safe distance from his home so they weren't intruding.
The offer to help came as a bit of a surprise. Arwach stopped moving completely and stared at the male in disbelief. Help them? If it were him, he'd only help if there were something in it for him. As they were still Viking they hadn't found any treasure yet so there was nothing to take.
"I don't like him," he muttered, but Sebor wasn't hearing any of it. She knew she could handle herself if the male proved to be unfriendly, and she always liked to give others the benefit of the doubt.
"Yes, we could use some help. My brother seems to be rather stuck," she said, ignoring the disgruntled growl from behind her. "We'd appreciate an extra set of paws to free him."
As she spoke, Sebor turned to give Arwach a glare that clearly told him to behave. It withered the male just a bit and he muttered something under his breath, too quiet to be heard. It was obvious the stare had taken some of the fight out of him, though.

(my horrible reading for you from earlier haha)
He wanted to tell them to be more careful but said this instead. "There are quite a few ravines like this around here, but not many open up into flat land like this one does." He said wanting to let them know to be semi-wary as they continued their travels. He looked at the male for a moment, who seemed pretty displeased with the whole situation, let alone the fact that he didn't seem too pleased that Areo was about to help him.
"I don't mind lending a paw to those that need it." He said as he approached the two and got a better look at the situation. The more he looked at the brother he gave a small grimace. This wasn't going to be pretty. He looked over towards the sister and gave her a 'are you sure I can touch him' sort of look. "I'm just going to touch you in a couple of spots that I see the you need the most assistance." he said to the male, looking at him for a moment before carefully grabbing a few spots and shifting them and nipping at them to break some of the vines the best he could.

Sebor watched warily as the dark male moved towards her brother, but his demeanor suggested he really did want to help. She gave a little nod even as Arwach bristled as the other male drew close and resumed plucking the thorns from her paws.
"Don't mind him, if he does anything dumb just give him a smack. If you don't, I will," she said, spitting out a decent piece of vine she grabbed from between her hind toes.
The blue Stormborn had to resist the urge to lash out, but he knew he'd just get more tangled. The other male was helping him, though, so he knew not to push his luck. He'd get to a comfortable distance once his was free.
"What pride are we near?" he asked, not liking the silence that settled between them as the other two worked to remove the thorns from all the fur. Sebor seemed to be nearly done with her own grooming so hopefully she'd step over to help him out so the stranger would back off.

He had size enough on both of them that they weren't too much of a worry for him so he gave her a small smile and a nod at her words. He'd leave her to the smacking. It wasn't his place. At least not in his mind. "I think if I snip it in a few more spots he should be able to climb free." He said making a few more snipes with his teeth and paws just slightly, pulling the vines free of the male so that he could remove himself from the rest of the bramble.
"You happen to be near the Pridelands." He said in response to the males question as he made one more snip of the thorny vines, being careful not to get himself stuck by the prickly thorns. He'd been in a tough spot himself a time or two with the thorns so this was no new occurrence for him. He then realized neither of them knew his name. "My name is Areoiris, but please, call me Areo for short." He said taking a step away from the male to see if he had gotten the last of the ones that had him pinned down.

Finally free of the brambles herself, Sebor turned to watch the dark male help her brother out of the thicket. She could see Arwach tensing the more he felt himself become free, and she cleared her throat to make him stop.
"The Pridelands...ah, I think I visited there a while ago," she said thoughtfully as she moved to stand closer to the two males. It was only now that she realized just how big the dark lion was. Godborn, perhaps. Her own children were about his size, the ones that Talfrid had sired, at least. She knew all about godborn lions, their seer powers and their impressive size. She just had no clue what god he could be a child of.
"Thanks for the help, Aero. I'm Sebor and this is my brother, Arwach."
As she spoke, Arwach finally stood and shook himself free of the vines and thorns that still clung to him. He turned with a growl to face Aero, not at all impressed by his size. He picked his way out of the thorns and moved a safe distance from the two to pick out the smaller stickers from his fur and mane.
"Don't mind him," Sebor said with a roll of her eyes. "He's touchy."

He looked at her for a moment when she said she had visited there a while ago. It was quite possible she had. "If you've traveled along here before, you probably have." He said with a small nod. "You're welcome. I'm not one to turn my back on those that might need it. I knew there was a possibility you'd both tell me to shove off, but I wanted to ask anyway." He said with a small chuckle. He listened to their names and he felt like they were from the same pride that one female had been from. Their names all had a roughness to them.
"I'm glad I could have been of service to you both." He said watching as Arwach gave him a growl and then backed away. It didn't phase him much. It wouldn't be the first time someone growled at him, nor would it be the last. "I'm not too worried. It's a common occurrence when I meet passing strangers out here." He said to her with a wink. "If you don't mind me asking, what brings the two of you out this way?"

"We're out with a group from our pride," Sebor said, not wanting to get too involved in describing a Viking. They could be taken the wrong way by other lions and the last thing she wanted to do was raise the alarm in a pride that a group of Stormborn were coming to raid their lands. "It's a common occurrence for our pride members to go out into the rogue lands together."
"And what brings you out here?" Arwach asked, glaring suspiciously at Areo. No one could possibly enjoy helping strangers out so much that they went out of their pride just to poke around and see if there were any passers by needing assistance. At least, to him that wasn't possible.

He gave a small nod to her answer and it sounded like something their scouts do, though he never really did a lot of things in a group. He preferred to travel alone. It was just better that way. Plus he always met such interesting characters that certain individuals would just ruin the entire mood. "Sounds familiar to what a female I met before was doing.." He said rather nonchalantly to her and then noticed her change of look when she asked what he was doing out here. He couldn't help but chuckle slightly. "Well, besides helping you two out of the thorns, I'm actually a scout for my pride. I travel into the rougelands frequently looking for those that might need help, that are lost, or looking to join the pride. I also fight away those that might wish my pride harm." It was a simple enough response to her question and it covered everything in detail. "I also do a bit of bartering sometimes. Though it was never really for items.." He said letting his words trail off. If she wanted to know, he'd tell her. But he didn't mind telling strong looking females he had no issue donating himself to them for strong and healthy cubs. Even if he never saw them.

"A scout," Sebor repeated, glancing over at her brother who just rolled his eyes. He obviously wasn't too thrilled about falling down into the thorns, but she was sure his pride was hurt more than anything else.
"You keep talking, I'm going to go find a way back up that ravine," Arwach muttered, heading off down along the high ridge. He was sure there had to be some place where they could climb back up to rejoin their group. It wasn't too terribly tall...maybe even a place were they could just jump.
Sebor shook her head in amusement at her brother's antics before turning to speak with the dark male once more. "Someone who barters but not for items? That's interesting. Why don't you tell me more while my brother licks his wounds?"
She motioned for Areo to follow her to a tree close by so they wouldn't have to stand in the sun while they waited for Arwach to return.
