Valentein sighed with exasperation, her older sibling had still been bothering her all too much and just needed a quiet place to get away. Even her dorm wasn't all that quiet with Dahlia chatting up a storm. Ahh, the library. Perfect place for some peace and quiet, and she could finally read new books. She obtained a library card with the front desk and then set off to look for books about The Nine. She already knew quite a lot about them, but there was something she hoped to find within their pages. At least she hoped the information would be able to be found within the covers of the books in the school library. She found the correct shelves as she walked along, dragging a soft finger against the spines of the books as she looked for specific titles. Hmm, it intrigued her that it seemed there wasn't a lot of book solely focusing on the Nine themselves and their lives before they became the nine or how they became gods. Valentein narrowed her eyes in annoyance. Maybe she should just go look for books on astrology then. It would probably be easier to find information she wanted on that instead of the gods.

Valentein had finally decided to reluctantly select at least one book about The Nine. She ran her fingers against each spine carefully then pulled two books from the shelf. A book about the rituals and worships of the different gods within The Nine, and another book that talked about influential people that seemed to serve under The Nine or at least by their word. Half-content with her selections, she turned to leave that aisle to find books on divination. Upon moving she bumped into an elf that had been walking all too closely to her for her liking, causing her to drop her books. As they growled at her, she sneered in return, seemingly offended as she spoke sharply, "You are excused." Who did this kid think they were? How dare they even bump into her and then act so rudely toward her. She narrowed her eyes and raised an eyebrow, almost inviting a response to contest her. She didn't even bother to pick up the books at this moment, making this altercation top priority as she figured she would just pick up her books when they left, expecting them to do just that. Leave.

Valentein folded her arms as he talked. "Obviously superior. While you are pigdeon-holed into a set of traits dictated by your lone, sad, pathetic race.. I have transcended to have the best of two worlds." she glared daggers at him, getting fairly worked up inwardly about his words. "Maybe you'd do better hoping you bite off that tongue of yours.." she moved to pick up her books and rested them within her folded arms. "I don't pray to gods... I want something a lot more than just hopes and prayers..." she hinted lightly at her goals, but didn't reveal enough to really say directly her motives on the books she had picked. "And who are you to speak to a lady so rudely. You need to go back to school to learn some manners." she was in full swing of her anger as she quirked her eyebrow again.

She clenched her teeth hard, Oooooo this little brat had the audacity to speak to her this way. "Well that's the pot calling the kettle black! But who cares about who's more arrogant than who anyway." she paused and laughed at him as he questioned her about the Gods. In fact, this had been the first time she had laughed in her entire life, and here she was laughing at the pipsqueak that dared stepped to her. Maybe that was why, living with Blythe only her whole life, she never had a real challenge such as this. It was a thought that not only intrigued her but disgusted her. "If you seriously can't figure that out, then you are far to feeble minded to even be speaking to me right now. She gripped the books in her arms hard, almost trembling in anger as he spoke. "At least I know I am a brat. I get what I want because I work for it. And what of you? I bet you have everything handed to you, you 'noble' little impudent CHILD." she was glaring hard as she emphasized her last few words, hoping they stung real hard, hoping they would cry before her.

Foolish. Better Grades. Feeble Minded. Her blood was already boiling but she could handle what he dished out. This was nothing. She would have smirked in challenge, already thinking of what to say next but something he said caught her off guard.

A couple who lives off of love.

It was hardly an insult, but the mere mention of her parents sent her off the edge, the hard sting of her memories as she remembered why her and her brother had come to the academy in the first place. Her loving and and very dear parents had just died, and that was enough to blind her with immense rage as she let out a yell and reeled back her arm, book in hand as she threw the book at his face. "HOW DARE YOU SPEAK OF THEM!!" she screamed as she took the second book and threw that too. Scorn lay deep within the tears that welled up in her eyes as she let her emotions loose. Throwing herself to him as she intended to knock him down, the only thing on her mind was to attempt to use her small weak fist to pummel his face in as best she could.

No words could reach her now, intent to hurt him as much as possible as she refused to get off of him, just swinging her weak clenched fists at him, not even aiming anymore, just pounding wherever she could get her hits to land. The librarian cleared her throat loudly as she growled out loud and ignored the woman attempting to get her to stop on her own. Only one more hit was enough for the litch to call enough and reached down to pick up Valentein, untangling the poor elf from her grasp. "Unhand me at once! This foolish elf dare speak to me in such spite, he deserves all that comes to him!" she shouted, throwing punches to the air as she squirmed within the librarian's grasp. "Young child!" she barked angrily. With that, Valentein was starting to realize what she did, but she did not regret it one bit. She stopped struggling and folded her arms angrily as she glared at Aedus. "And there is more of where that came from if you come near me again!" she added with a hiss and the Lich seemed to growl at her. "Detention, both of you!" she commanded as she set down Valentein and before she could try to take another swing at Aedus, which she definitely tried to, the librarian pulled her, keeping a firm grasp on her arm as she drug her out of the library and towards the detention hall. All the while she kept a close piercing eye on the elf to make sure he was following as well.
