 It was finally the end of the day, and Yuki was ready to go home. She had collected her materials and began the process of locking the medicine cabinets, giving them an extra tug to ensure they were safely secure before tossing the keys into her lab coat, brushing her hands off on her knees. Whew! Today had been an exceptionally chaotic day. Whatever had gotten into the kids had been fierce, as suddenly plenty of cases of colds arrived at her office. Now, it was time to await Memphis to take her to their home.
Hopefully, he'd be there soon! She was ready to just kick back and relax.

Memphis was making his way down to the nurse's office. He was overthinking the idea of marriage that he was about to bring upon Yuki. This could go two ways, he could mess it up and she would say no or it will go exactly as planned and everything would roll smoothly. Gripping tightly to the flowers against his side and ring in his pocket, he approached the door to the office.
Standing still for a few seconds he made a swift knock against the door, waiting for Yuki to appear.

Yuki had heard the knock, kicking herself off her office chair and immediately pressing the flats of her hands against her lab coat to ensure it was as smooth as possible. Good. She looked fantastic. A true sight to behold. She took her sweet time walking to the door, always just a bit cruel in her need to make poor Memphis wait in anticipation of his girlfriend. Finally, she creaked the door open, peeking her head out.
"Oh? Memphis?" She feigned surprise before stepping aside, briefly catching flowers in the corner of her eye. Hm? A gift? Her tail wiggled behind her as she made room for her much taller partner, craning on her tiptoes so she could give him a peck on the cheek when he entered. "Lean down, would you? You make this far too difficult."

Memphis reached down and picked up Yuki, presenting his cheek. After she kissed his cheek, he set her back down, taking her hand, he got down on one knee and exposed the flowers and ring to her.
"Hey, I was thinking for some time. We have been dating for a while and I think it's about time I pop the question." He paused for effect, looking up at her he waited for a response.

A squeal followed as Yuki was lifted, tapping slender fingers against his shoulders and planting a kiss right on his cheek before he sat her down, fixing her lab coat for the third time that night. She had been about to ask him something when, instead, he interrupted her, causing her eyes to narrow as he swiftly settled to one knee and held the flowers she had noted early and.... a ring? Her head cocked to the side, eyes drifting to focus on Memphis. What? He was thinking? A question? Of course Yuki took this very second to be completely oblivious, her free hand tucking onto her opposite hip as she rested her weight on one foot.
"Question?" He had paused, which meant it was her turn to respond, right? "Are you asking to be Alice's dad? I don't think that's up to me, you know."

Memphis stared blankly at Yuki as she responded. "No I wasn't going to ask that." He rubbed his face as he cleared his throat, getting ready to re-ask his question. Did she really just say that? He did not plan for that response. Without worrying about it he continued.
"I was thinking, we have been dating for a year and I believe it is time for something new... would you be willing to marry me?" He smiled up at her, squeezing her hand.

Oh, good, that was a look that clearly said her response was wrong. Her tail lashed slightly, nervously twitching behind her as he seemed displeased. What? What was she supposed to say? It wasn't like he gave much indication to what he was propos-
Proposing.
He was proposing.
Oh.
Her eyes widened as he began speaking right after her revelation, almost tugging her hand away just so she could steady herself. Marriage? With her? Yuki? Now she did sway, free hand moving to steady herself. Honestly, she had just expected him to take her home, not propose! A tiny gasp left her, free hand moving to touch her chest as she inhaled sharply.
"Marriage?" Silence followed, probably worrying away at Memphis, but it wasn't like she had the ability to really consider what her reaction was doing to him.
"Oh~!" Her next response was cheerful, face breaking into a smile as she tugged her hand free from his and immediately fell right to the ground, nuzzling into Memphis and squeezing her way into his arms, her own reaching up to hug him. "Of course I'll marry you, you big doofus!"

Happy with her reaction, he lifted her up as he started to get up off the ground, setting her down gently as he got up. He opened the door to get ready to take Yuki home. Taking her hand one more time he stood in front of her, preparing himself to ask another question.
"Hey Yuki, I was also thinking of imbuing stones with you so we can add more to the family." He looked aside, not making much eye contact due to feeling nervous.

Another squeal followed before he set her down, shifting from foot to foot as she waited. And waited. And.... continued to wait.... Where was the ring? All that and no ring? But, it was a symbol of their future marriage! Puffing her cheeks out, the smaller woman slid up to his side, pressing against him with a pout firmly on her face.
"Memphis." She hummed, holding out her ring finger. "You're forgetting something." She hinted, wiggling her fingers in anticipation. She was going to show this ring off immediately. It wasn't the size or the fact it was even a diamond, no. It was the fact Memphis proposed. He had asked her to be his wife, and on her finger was about to be the evidence that this very moment happened. She wanted the world to know!
Of course, she hadn't expected his last question, nor the hand grab. She shifted, leaving his side as she blinked back in brief confusion. Children? More children? Oh, she had absolutely considered it. Alice was far more fascinated with Claus and custody had been moved to Alice staying with Claus at almost all times, which Yuki was fine with! She wanted her daughter happy, and she knew Claus had a rough time lately. It must be nice to have some family. But, sometimes she looked at the empty bedroom and wished to fill it. She hadn't asked Memphis out of fear. He was still in university, and she wasn't sure if he was ready to commit to children. Or, hadn't been sure. He pretty much destroyed that worry with his question, hadn't he?
"Oh, were you now?" Of course, she had to tease him, first. "Ring isn't even on my finger yet and you're asking about kids! Lucky for you, Mr. Memphis, I've been wanting to add new babies for awhile. When? Oh! Can we redecorate Alice's old room? Oh oh, of course we need to tell her, first! Maybe I can ask Claus to relinquish the weekend and have her stay over our place so we can tell her?" And there she was, rambling in excitement.

Memphis watched Yuki's little finger wave about, he took her hand and slid on the ring almost totally forgetting that he hadn't done that already.
"So does that mean you are interested in having little children roam around the house?" Gripping her hand that he just slid the ring on, he tugged her in close to him.
"Thats great I would love that." He was excited that things had worked out the way he had planed. Leaning down, he was getting ready to pick her up so that he could carry her home.

She examined the ring for a good half a minute before her head snapped up to respond, tail wiggling contently behind her. Gasping as she was tugged close, the Demon snuggled into her partner, wrapping her tail around his fluffy one.
"Would you?" She hummed sweetly, leaning up and allowing him to pick her up, fumbling with her lab coat to ensure no accidents happened along the way. The second they got home, though, she would fly into preparation mode.
