Random thread to talk about all the different skills that exist.

I just ran into a soldier who had the lunge skill and switched spots with Silas after he attacked. I thought it was super cool.

Talk about other cool skills that you have run into or thoughts about them in general!

When you're against a group of enemies that all have that ******** lunge skill, it can get pretty annoying when there's nothing you can do from your unit getting chain leapfrogged across the entire ******** map.

One thing that ******** me once, if I'm remembering correctly, is that counter now activates even when the unit you attack is defeated, which caused my attacking unit to die and made me restart. Bullshit.

"With my dying breath... I say... ******** you..."

I'm still early on (dealing with Chapter 4), so the most annoying thing I've thus far encountered is debuffs. It's going to take a lot of getting used to.

Something tells me that I should check the enemies' skills later on in the chapters. >.>;

I'm not that far into the game either because I keep doing side missions to train my cutie Mozu, but I was stupidly happy that there's a dude version of Demoiselle that buffed chicks.

I also like how units have innate skills that you can't take off and it doesn't take up one of your 5 slots.

I'm not sure if that's a one time thing but I've been surprised by enemies with counter that I had to spend another turn dealing with that didn't pop counter on the deathblow. It might be only if you take two attacks of the same battle to beat it, or something went horribly wrong. Wiki itself and looking around doesn't mention any changes to counter, but I'll be keeping a eye out.

But shout out to my new favorite skill Duplicate. It needs a self-sustaining build to be viable, but it's incredibly cool with a 101 uses for making support grinding easier, being a godsend on maps with an odd number of units, having that extra healing/damage where you need it, the only downside is having to worry about damage in two different places but Sol/Renewal/Lifesteal (Especially Lifesteal since it can proc twice a turn)/Even Nap or anything else completely soothes that over.

Those Seal skills that subtract a stat BY 6 AFTER COMBAT have been game-changers, going against them. You can't just throw a super tanky unit against a group of enemies when one of them has Defense Seal because suddenly you go from taking 0 damage to 20+ during the enemy phase, I've learned.

Poison Strike on various enemies has also been an interesting twist on enemies. It really throws a wrench in how many battles you can afford to be in in a single turn. Looking at you, Conquest Ch 7. It's just a Poison Strike-Palooza.

CH 11 or 12 had a Samurai with Life or Death, so you HAD to initiate and aim for the OHKO or you take heavy damage.

A lot of the skills placed on enemies have forced you to be even more tactical in how you approach them. At least on Conquest.

And we can't forget personal skills. I have especially been loving utility/support-oriented personal skills like Camilla's and Elise's. between the two of them being adjacent to an attacker, that's +4 damage dealt and -4 damage taken. Slap on Felicia in Defensive Stance and Supportive Partner takes it to +6/-6. I just LOVE skills like that and the fact that you can stack such things. AND THEN you can add on supportive class skills like Demoiselle and Inspiration and you'd hit +10/-10! There are so many options for how to support units through skills and positioning and it adds a very enjoyable layer of strategy to the game. Similar things have existed in other FEs, but the variety of skills that do it and provide different specific bonuses is delightful.

Speaking of those Seal skills, the only ones that don't exist are the ones that reduce Skill and Luck (so you can't reduce their accuracy or crit/evade). The best part is that you can inflict more than one of these seals on an opponent at a time (they won't stack if you use shuriken/daggers as well), so you can cripple a powerful unit really fast and by the time they recover from the effects it'll be too late. I'm looking at you, Spear Masters with your Seal Defense and Seal Speed.
