Mechanically, a lot of the rules and restrictions are going to go out.
- Movesets no longer have level limits
- Evolutions are no longer rank restricted
- Just, no ranks in general
- Recruits are free choice (since lets be honest when did that ever matter anyways)
- Any Type of Pokemon can be encountered in any location; the former Type restrictions have become Predominant Types. Ex: It's perfectly acceptable to find an Aggron in Fairy Woods, but you wouldn't find a large number of them. Fairy Type is predominant there, so any colonies or well-established communities you find there will be made of Fairies. Other Pokemon are most likely transients, explorers, researchers, etc.
- Mission rewards will be determined by the reviewer, and will be based on the contents of the mission; this'll mostly be TMs and items since these items add flavour and are most interesting when restricted.
- Suggestion: Evolution items and other such necessities can be arranged as a reward/find within missions of relative quality if it's been discussed with other members prior.
The setting shift will:
- Reduce the number of NPCs significantly
- Reduce the "ghost" members; the only members of the guild will be the player characters in use, plus NPCs
- Introduce the new "plot development type thing".
- All interactions and basic ideas that exist currently are kept as best as possible; if it doesn't really fit the new canon, gloss over any aspects of why it doesn't. Haha. Fudging.
- We won't really have to change any ongoing RPs or anything, since it's not like the city itself is dissolving into a cloud of dust. The guild is just a smaller and less important organization--the rest of the city is perfectly fine.
The plot thing:
- There's a "madness" about! Nobody knows much about it beyond the obvious distortion of mental function and violence.
- Nobody even knows how it spreads.
- Or even how it presents.
- Not all cases are even the same, some are different.
- That's up for us to decide! Write missions, do roleplays, have it present. Every 1~3 months we'll have a "plot thing", which will be the characters splitting into grouped up teams to investigate relevant areas that were found during missions. At this point, the details will start to solidify and they'll form the platform for the continued development of it.
- Once it's well-enough defined, we'll look at any dominant themes and give it a nudge in a certain direction.
- Overall, this should be much easier to work with for us all, since it doesn't necessitate a big leader-ish guy.
The new setting's timeline is basically:
- Isolated cases pop up. This is a problem.
- Serrin sets out to solve it, does it the only way he knows how: get more people. He's only one man!
- The guild is opened and it recruits based on a promise: you help us, we'll help you.
There will also be a bulletin board for the characters:
- Have your characters write your goals on them.
- Work together and be radical.
- Mostly a way to help characters play on one another a little bit and develop a "working relationship" so to speak.
