Camlann wasn't looking for Quartz. Like, he was concerned, because he hadn't seen him (obviously) or even heard of him (less obviously) in a while. Megiddo couldn't have done anything to him (being dead would do that to you) but there was always Schorl. Camlann had never met the woman, only heard of her, but he knew that he had never hated someone with such vicious rage. His memories only went so far back, but he knew that.

So, though he felt like s**t, he had gone out to have a look-see. Not to fight youma, because he wasn't stupid, but to see if he could find one particular Captain in a ******** Mineseeker game. Sure, he could find Quartz, or he could find literally anyone else. Eh. Ehh. He went anyway, figuring luck had always favored him before.

He was going to pick the most stationary Captain he could. Maybe that would pay off.

Camlann, as it turned out, was either right or lucky in his instincts. Quartz let All-One do most of his patrolling for him, these days. He himself stayed away from what he had noted to be large centers of senshi or knight activity -- always better to pick them off one by one for conversations, where he could. They were less likely to be hostile when they didn't feel threatened by too many enemies -- or bolstered by too many allies.

One on one was best.

Someone was coming to him, unusually, this time. He felt the approach of a singular aura -- knight faction -- and let All-One warn him in advance.

"Red hair," it said. "Purple -- clothes."

Quartz nodded. Melanite. Remember not to let the new name sink in. He's Melanite, always be careful not to call him anything else.

"An informant," he said to All-One. "A former agent named Melanite. You'll have to go -- he won't like your aura." So saying, he dismissed his youma back to the Rift.

This left him unprotected, except for his own resources. Fear prickled at him, as it usually did -- but he reminded himself that Melanite was a low risk. Melanite had never shown signs of aggression towards him. He was probably safe.

He waited.
