Camlann, as it turned out, was either right or lucky in his instincts. Quartz let All-One do most of his patrolling for him, these days. He himself stayed away from what he had noted to be large centers of senshi or knight activity -- always better to pick them off one by one for conversations, where he could. They were less likely to be hostile when they didn't feel threatened by too many enemies -- or bolstered by too many allies.
One on one was best.
Someone was coming to him, unusually, this time. He felt the approach of a singular aura -- knight faction -- and let All-One warn him in advance.
"Red hair," it said. "Purple -- clothes."
Quartz nodded.
Melanite. Remember not to let the new name sink in. He's Melanite, always be careful not to call him anything else."An informant," he said to All-One. "A former agent named Melanite. You'll have to go -- he won't like your aura." So saying, he dismissed his youma back to the Rift.
This left him unprotected, except for his own resources. Fear prickled at him, as it usually did -- but he reminded himself that Melanite was a low risk. Melanite had never shown signs of aggression towards him. He was probably safe.
He waited.
