♥ ❤ ♥ Aquata swam, pacing back and forth as she thought about the conversation she was going to have with her father. When her sisters had gone to the surface to go to school she had refused the offer to go, but now that she had spent time basically doing nothing but singing practice with Sebastian and fretting about what she was missing out on on the surface she had come to the decision that she needed to convince her father to let her go even though it was the middle of the school year and even though she had previously refused.♥ ❤ ♥

 Triton was in his room feeling quite giddy as he held the small figurine of himself and stood it majestically in his miniature throne. Everything seemed to be going just as they should recently. He hummed happily to himself and left his quarters. He waved to various subjects as he headed towards the music hall. Upon entering he saw Aquata pacing back and forth mumbling to herself. His heart fluttered for a second as he wondered to himself if the reason for Aquata's pacing was man related then, cleared his throat and took on an extremely serious expression to mask his thoughts.
"Aquata my daughter, you will wear yourself out before music practice if you continue to pace like that." He said while assuming a "wise and powerful" posture. "I hope you have not come into any trouble my angelfish. You know you can speak to me about anything." He said trying not to seem too eager and turning away from her for dramatic effect.

Triton had practiced for many long hours in mastering his kingly poses and majestic stillness. If you were going to instill confidence in your subjects then fidgeting was something that you just didn't do. So he just paused there stoically as he waited for his daughter to respond to him. When she did manage to say something he gestured encouragingly towards her then waited again for her to continue.

♥ ❤ ♥ Finally gathering up her courage to speak more fluently she says " I want to go to college" then when she is finished speaking she settles in a chair and waits for his reply.♥ ❤ ♥

Triton froze as his heart skipped a beat. College? A few of his other girls had gone off to school above water already, and so he really had no excuse to say no-- but he had been so sure that Aquata was having merman trouble that it really had caught him off guard. He cleared his throat uncomfortably and turned to look at her. His fatherly gaze searched her expression for sincerity, and when he found it he sighed defeated. "If that is what you want, you have my blessing."

Aquata replied "thank you father. By the way do you know of any merpeople colleges? I'd like to go with my own kind. Unfortunately the word college comes from the land people. I know that they have many colleges to chose from and lots I could learn up there. I'm not sure if I'd fit in up there though." she stopped talking and waited for a reply
