Remembering the Past
Prompt 3

Can be used toward Solo or RP req

It has been seven long years since the Great Oban Invasion. It almost feels like a dream, considering all of the changes that have occurred in Tendaji since the great war. A new King sits on the Oban throne, and he has opened the boundaries of Oba and Matori. Many already are taking advantage of the open boarders to travel and explore. The world was expanding and changing all things to the massive war of the great nations.

Since the war, Tendaji took a stand against the extremist Alkidikes and won. They came together to show a new alliance that many could never dream of. Everything was settling, and now that there finally was peace everyone has begun to to take a moment and remember all that has come and gone.

How have the major wars and changes impacted your character these past few years? Are they bitter for their failures or happy about their success? Do they see a peaceful future to come or are they concerned about those who may be still holding grudges?

[Characters not part or even alive during the war can still respond to this prompt. Maybe they have a different way of understanding the war compared to those who were part of it, so feel free to explore those feelings and thoughts in your response]

Bushi starred at Aatos for a moment, head tilted to one side, and he gave a thoughtful sound as he took in the fact that the bushi had a mouthful of cloth in his mouth, as well as looking as though he'd been pelted with what might have been some balls filled with paint. The bushi looked far from amused, though he supposed that he could understand, it wasn't any fun to get pelted with things. Walking over to the big beast he reached a hand out, resting it lightly on his head, "It's alright now, Aatos, I'm here. You did well to stand up again such abuse while I was gone." He'd chalk this up to there still being people out there who weren't fans of having Obans around. He wasn't so foolish as to think he'd be able to travel around without finding at least some sort of resistance, either from those that dealt with the war or those who had heard stories about it. Still, it seemed a bit irksome that they had targeted Aatos and not Bushi himself.

It made him feel that those he was dealing with were liking children or teens since it was the act of someone a bit weak willed or cowardly. They could attack something that belonged to an Oban but not the Oban himself. There was a soft, chirping sound that drew his eyes down to Profit who was hiding between Aatos's front legs and Bushi's eyes went big when he saw the paint staining her pristine feathers, "Oh dear... my poor little blue bird of happiness." He murmured, squatting down so that he could pick her up, wiping at the pain, "Don't worry, I'll get the lot of you cleaned up." He told the pair before he put Profit in one of the baskets that hung off of Aatos's shell, leaving it open, allowing her to nestle down there for now.

From there he took the cloth from Aatos's mouth, giving it a once over, before tucking into his pocket, "I will keep an eye out for whoever might be wearing the rest of this. I'd like to know who was so petty that they would attack my pets while I wasn't looking." He was sure that he'd hear about it eventually if it was a child since Bushi had tried to take a bite out of someone. They would be likely to blame the attack on Bushi, though it wouldn't exactly be the first time. The war might be long over, something that allowed him to travel at all, but for some he was likely still seen as an enemy or at least a potential threat. One would think that, after the Alkidike zealots made such a mess of things, that he wouldn't be the prime target for such things... but such was life. Likely a good thing that they were moving on soon, he didn't want his business ruined because people got it in their heads that Aatos was a creature prone to biting since that was far from the truth. He'd bet anything that the big turtle was just protecting Profit from more abused.

"Come on, we are going to go and get you two washed up." He'd bring them to one of the water sources, get them washed up, then they would be on their way. They had been preparing for a while to get moving and this unprovoked attack was as good a reason as any for them to get moving. While Bushi would love to think that the past would stay in the past that wasn't always the case. People would think about the war, about what was lost, and they would find that desire welling up in them to lash out because of it. He'd of rather had himself pelted with the paint balls. Sure, he wasn't a part of the war, but if he were honest he knew that he'd made money off of it. He sold goods that he'd obtained to those that needed them, and as such his hands weren't completely clean. Still, he'd be happier not thinking about that and instead thinking about the here and now where... his hands still weren't exactly clean, he traded with bandits after all, but at least he wasn't profiting from war.

Shaking his head he continued forward, "I think, after the next leg of our jouney, we should head home... not that either of you have seen home yet." Thinking about it he hadn't been back to Awat since he'd gotten the pair after all. Where he'd decided to set up his own place was way out of the way, just the way he liked it, and therefore he didn't go back a lot unless he meant to stay for a while. He had someone that he left in charge, sent things back home for that person via a trusted courier, and otherwise didn't worry about it unless it got closer to time to visit again. He really wanted to do so sometime soon though, but not until he visited Sauti and possibly Zena. Giving a nod, worries of the past forgotten for the moment, Bushi set to work cleaning up his pets so that they could set out. Bushi was more then ready to go and he had a feeling someone else out there felt the same.
