Remembering the Past
Prompt 3

Can be used toward Solo or RP req

It has been seven long years since the Great Oban Invasion. It almost feels like a dream, considering all of the changes that have occurred in Tendaji since the great war. A new King sits on the Oban throne, and he has opened the boundaries of Oba and Matori. Many already are taking advantage of the open boarders to travel and explore. The world was expanding and changing all things to the massive war of the great nations.

Since the war, Tendaji took a stand against the extremist Alkidikes and won. They came together to show a new alliance that many could never dream of. Everything was settling, and now that there finally was peace everyone has begun to to take a moment and remember all that has come and gone.

How have the major wars and changes impacted your character these past few years? Are they bitter for their failures or happy about their success? Do they see a peaceful future to come or are they concerned about those who may be still holding grudges?

[Characters not part or even alive during the war can still respond to this prompt. Maybe they have a different way of understanding the war compared to those who were part of it, so feel free to explore those feelings and thoughts in your response]

There was something about laying around on a calm afternoon, not really something that Jacinthus did all that often, that made his mind wander. His wander mind then started to think on the past, especially after his trip to the marketplace, which then in turned made the Leaf Tribesman feel a bit... old. Not that he'd admit such a thing out loud though since he refused to see himself as old even if he felt that way at the moment. He'd been through a lot, more then a lot of people could even dream of, but that didn't mean that he was an old man that was about to retire or something as foolish at that. It was just something that made him think was all. About everything that he'd done, the places he'd gone, the people he'd met, and the battles that he'd been a part of.

There were many of all of three things, though he hadn't exactly done a lot of traveling of late, wanting to instead stick close to home while he could. It seemed that every time he really ended up traveling a long distance it was for a reason, because he was being brought out to fight against one dangerous faction or another, and it had sort of ended up leaving Jacinthus as being a bit of a home body. Not exactly how he thought he'd end up given that he started out life traveling with a group of people all the way to Zena. He supposed that fighting all the time, being forced to kill other Earthlings and the zealous Alkidike had changed his perspective a little. It had caused him to just not want to leave home because it felt as though fighting and killing had become the only reason to leave. How he kind of ached to go on a trip that just ended up with him doing something... nice. Maybe he could go with Korra so that she could see her homeland of Sauti? Go to Matori where he heard it was really warm so that Takoda would run around in something skimpy? A vacation that felt like just that, a vacation.

In the market place he'd seen a lot of different people, different tribes, and that old hatred he felt for some of them, like the Obans, was a lot duller. He didn't feel the urge to glare at them or tell them to go back where they belonged. They were around, they weren't starting fights or trying to enslave anyone, so it was fine, right? He could let his guard down just a little, he didn't have to constantly be looking for an enemy even if he worried that one day another of them was going to crop up. Might as well enjoy himself while things were peaceful, right?

He wondered what they might think, his family, were he to actually ask them if they wanted to go on a vacation. The idea of going to Sauti again after the battle against the zealots did make his stomach clench a little, but surely if he went there for Korra then it would be alright? If he looked at the good side of places instead of the bad it could work, right? After all despite some battles against the Obans taking place in Jauhar he could still go there because there were certain animals that lived there that he enjoyed the taste of. Jacinthus felt as though he needed something similar for some of the other nations or else he might never step foot out of Tale again until the next battle started. If that were to happen then the likelihood of him going anywhere would probably lessen considerably, huh? Best that he traveled sooner then later, or else he probably never would again.

Sitting up slowly Jacinthus stretched out all over before pushing to his feet. He should seek out his family, to see what they thought of the idea of traveling to various far off lands. He and Takoda had discussed the possibility in the past, but nothing had come of it yet. So he should try again, only more seriously this time! It would be good for him to get out, for Korra and Takoda to see more places. Takoda especially would probably benefit since he would be able to gather herbs from all over the world were they to go on such a journey. The idea was a bit of an intimidating one, since he knew personal biased might come into play, as well as thoughts about old battles, but he wanted to do this! He would do this, with his family, as he felt that would make it all feel worthwhile instead of worrisome.
