As the crowd were beginning to settle in for the night, between the great matches being put on show, an unfamiliar tune hit the PA system. It's not to say that most of the new guys on the scene here were familiar to the fans, but some were sheer developed veterans of the ring.

Zombies by Lacuna Coil rang out loud, it's hard and melodic low-driven beat roaring out around the venue. Most of the crowd turned to see the newcomer, all in awe at the spectacle, with many of them being at their first pro-wrestling event with the entry being so cheap for a new startup.

Down on my knees
Feeling lost I look around
Another day I can see
My life crashing to the ground

Now that the time is ripe for change
None of the lies that I’ve been told
None of them lying preachers
Cannot curse me anymore

From the back came a man dressed in a spectacular shade of blue, bouncing on his toes and with a microphone in his hand. From years back, those who were in tune with the old format of WWE:E would have recognised him, but other than that he was a complete new face to the fans.

As the music was slowly faded down by the AV team, a small pop went out from the crowd as they awaited to hear what this new guy had to say. He seemed upbeat, ready for action, and happy to be here in front of everyone with a smug smirk on his face.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Avaritia, but you may call me Avari. For years I have been in the back of wrestling feds, biding my time and waiting for an opportunity from amongst the shadows to take that one golden chance to prove myself as a technically proficient upcoming star. Yes, that's a lot to say about oneself when you've yet to have a match, but what's life without a litte driven self-motivation and clear ambition?"

Slowly starting a walk down to the ring, Avari seemed to be ignoring the fans either side of him. Heh, that's not going to really gain any fans in that sense now, is it?

"The thing is, you could say that I have a lineage in this business. A lineage that is not usually associated with my character outside of these walls. Not many people know me and, and those who do then treat me differently. You see, I have a father who who has been in the business for years, one who I usually disassociate myself with, on the basis that I'd rather have people judge me on my own performances. For those of you smart enough to recognise the British accent, that may give you some hints if you want to work it out.

So now you know my name, you know a teaser of my background, but you don't know why I'm saying this all to you while walking down to the ring. I come out here in a new company, with intention and a deliberate aim. I want to prove myself, even if it means taking up an open challenge.
"

As he reached the ring, Avari rolled under the bottom rope and slowly got up to his feet. He looked around in a full circle at the fans around him, and knew that he clearly had their eyes on him now. His gold emblazoned jacket flowed around him, and he watched as a group of children pointed at it and he smiled to himself.

"In front of me I see those who want to watch something go down tonight, and those who just can't wait to get this man out of the ring. Well, I say that someone out in the back there do both of those, and give me a chance. Let us battle in the squared circle, and attempt to force me out of this ring that I so graciously attend."

He waited a few moments, expecting and hoping for an immediate answer. After those few seconds passed, he chuckled a little and went to speak again in to the microphone. Right before he was interrupted.

Avari removed his jacket, passing it to a stage hand.

Before Avari could resume talking, a thumping beat pulsed across the PA system, the name 'Salem Croft' flashing on the titantron while white spotlights pulsed in time. In the contrast of light and shadow, the man in question could be seen stepping out onto the stage, fans starting to clap or stomp in time with the rhythm!

Big shot screaming 'Put your hands in the sky!'
He says 'Give it up, boy, give it up, or you're gonna die!'
'You'll get a bullet in the back of the neck,
In the back of the neck, right buh-tween the eyes!'

As the chorus hit hard, Salem started to do a variation of the Melbourne Shuffle on the stage, the house lights coming up while those directly above him continued to throb to the beat. Wearing his sleeveless hoodie, sculpted to resemble a Hellkite, Croft kept his head low as to let the hood hang over his eyes, making his face look draconic.

Fistbumping with a few members in the audience as he stomp-danced down the ramp, Salem strutted towards the ring steps while the audience clapped with approval. Making his way onto the apron, it was apparent that The Firedrake had a microphone in one of his taped fists. Raising it to his lips, Croft made a cutting gesture to his throat with his empty hand.

"Cut the music, thanks." Salem said, leaving only the applause as a backdrop for this sudden encounter. Leaning against the turnbuckle from the edge of the apron, the M.W. Deuce smiled earnestly at Avari before ducking the top rope to step onto the canvas.

"Sorry about the party rocking." Salem said, an almost embarrassed grin spread across his lips. "I just really wanted to have fun, for a second."

His statement was followed by a brief pop from the crowd, who'd also seemed to enjoy the stomping rhythm of his entrance music.

"But, it's like you said - these people want to see something happen, so I figure - what better thing, than the son of the great Nuke Fusion, taking on the man he'd once looked at like a son? Because I know you, Avari...these people may not, but I know you and I certainly know your father. One of the people I respect the most in this entire industry...and I know the burden a name like yours must bare."

After this rather personal profession, Salem stepped closer to Avari, only a meter or so away before bringing the microphone back to his lips - a terse, almost sad firmness to his eyes and voice.

"...And I know how that feels, because for the exact opposite reason, I've got something to prove, as well. Whereas you have a name held in the highest esteem, mine's one that's been a joke for some time now. While you have to live up to the legendary career of your father, I have to live up to the bright start that the first couple years of my career had been. You have to prove you're a chip off the old block. I have to prove...I'm not a mistake."

Lowering his hands for a second, Salem took another step closer, almost chest to chest with the ambitious young man before him. Extending his empty hand, Salem raised the mic to his lips, looking the lad dead in his eyes.

"So. What do you say? Am I good enough? Are we gonna give these people something to remember, or what?"

Pausing, the fans started to chant "YES!" while the Charismatic Calamity waited, hand extended in offer of friendly challenge.

The challenge was set, and the crowd cheered wildly. Looking around as a hand extended to him and seeing all of these fans really wanting the match, he smirked and took the hand.

"These fans out here want to see this match, and we both have something to prove. There's not much else to say to all of this, except may the best man win."

Letting go of the grasp and stepping back, he threw the microphone to the side as a ref jogged towards the ring. The local crowd were on point and ready for this action, and who was Avari to take that away from them?

The crowd continued to chant their approval as Salem stepped back, tugging his hoodie off with a quick jerk before flinging it to the outside of the ring. The referee was quickly approaching, but even quicker was the change in demeanor from the M.W. Deuce - gone was the sad expression, replaced with a shark like grin set beneath equally piercing eyes, excitement radiating off the Hardcore Hellkite like flames.

Backing up to the ropes opposite Avari, Salem stared firmly at his respected opponent, stretching out his arms by tugging on the top rope and leaning away from it. Lifting his legs, first one, then the other, Croft cradled his ankle against the top rope to loosen up his hamstrings and calves in the process. The referee, meanwhile, had slid onto the mat and walked towards the corner nearest the time-keeper, calling for the opening bell to be rung. It chimed accordingly.

Fans started to chant "THIS IS AWESOME!" in tandem, watching as Salem started stalking towards the center of the canvas. Reaching out, Croft offered a clenched fist with friendly intent, waiting for the Young Warhead to reciprocate.
