For some reason she was feeling a bit down and she couldn't explain why. It was as if something deep within her was trying to tell her something but she couldn't figure out what it was. There seemed to be an empty spot within her and something told her that it wasn't supposed to be there. She had woken up feeling this way after a rather particular dream. It had been filled with hazy faces and voices she didn't know. Or at least that she knew of. Part of her screamed at her that she needed to remember something but she didn't know what it was.
With a sigh she stood up from her place of rest and stretched her wings and then shook her body slightly to dislodge any debris that had clung to her during the night. Pale eyes scanned the open meadow that she was near too and she shook her long hair from her face and glanced around the skies too for a moment. The morning wasn't particularly early, but it wasn't late either. The sun was just barely in the sky and already she knew the day was going to be good. But still, this gnawing feeling in her heart was distracting her.
She figured if she could find someone to talk to or even find something to do she could distract herself from the feeling. Yes, that was what she needed. A distraction. With a small sigh she walked into the field and nibbled at a few of the tender blades of grass and smelled a flower here and there and kept a watchful eye and searching ear for anyone that may be nearby, whether on hoof or in the sky. Aiyana decided that she needed to exercise her wings this morning and it seemed a lovely day to do so. She had taken off from where she had camped that night and was flying gracefully in the air. The sun that was starting to ascend in the sky gave her a small bit of warmth, allowing a smile to come to her lips. A light breeze was rustling through her pink curls, today would be wonderful. Her pale green orbs scanned the ground below her, thinking about how she should stop for some breakfast.
When she noticed some color below her, she was very curious, it looked like someone else had thought of food. She adjusted her wings and began to dive toward the ground, bringing herself up in time to land not far away from the other mare.

It seemed to her that her search wasn't going to last very long for a shadow appeared upon the ground not to far away and pale eyes gazed skyward as she spotted the Alicorn coming into view. She watched as the mare landed not to far away and took a moment to admire her coloration. She'd seen a variety of soquili over her months of wandering, but this mare was lovely. Her colors complimented her nicely and nothing was clashing or over showy. The admiration literally only took mere seconds and she watched her closely for a moment more before giving her a small bow of her head in greeting. "I was hoping I'd have some company on this wonderful day that we are having. My name is Astraea, what may I call you by?" She asked her somewhat formally, her voice sweet and supple upon the light breeze.
Her long tendrils streamed about her for a moment and then settled against her body as the wind shifted and stopped. "Are you familiar to this area?" She asked her curiously. It would be nice to meet someone that knew it well, but it was alright if she didn't. Some were just travelers like herself, just passing through and not paying much mind. Though Astraea did, she took in the sights, the sounds and smells graciously as if they were a form of gift. Something within her told her to cherish everything this life had to offer, even if she didn't understand the reason behind it. She figured in time everything would become clear to her, but for now she would just go with what her instincts told her. [WC: 278 ]

Aiyana couldn't help but get mesmerized by the wings for a moment, they were such beautiful colors. Her thoughts were interrupted when the other mare spoke up and introduced herself. A smile graced the pink haired mare's lips, she had quite a musical quality to her voice.
"It is very nice running into you, Astraea. My name is Aiyana, though Ana is quite acceptable to call me. As for knowing the area, I am afraid not, I am a wanderer. I have been looking for a place to belong for awhile now. I travel with my bat companion, Yamka,"she answered.

Watching the mare as she spoke she gave a small nod in acknowledgement to the introduction. So it would seem that she was just wandering and in search of a place to call home. Interesting. Astraea could understand what she was going through, and she was certain the mare would find her place eventually. "It is a pleasure to meet you Aiyana. As for being a wanderer, that is alright. I wasn't planning on staying in this area for too long." She said with a glance around. "My companion is a bear by the name of Amitola, though him and I don't always travel together." Everyone always thought them an odd pairing, but she never minded what others thought anyway. Unless it was something insulting, then she'd have something to say. "Did you lose your herd, or were you never part of one?" She asked her curiously after having thought about what she had said for a moment.

Aiyana continued to smile as Astraea spoke about it be a pleasure to meet her too. The pink haired mare had a thoughtful look in her eyes, wondering where this mare was headed. Then the other posed a question she was not ready for, asking how she became a wanderer. Her eyes watered softly, trying to think of the words that would best explain her situation.
"When I was a little filly, my family was killed in a fire. I somehow survived and hid in a cave, where I met Yamka. Since then, I have been on my own,"she explained.

The mare seemed attentive enough when Astraea spoke and she liked that about her. There were some that were rather rude when it came to conversations with another but this mare was rather well off. She watched as the mares demeanor changed the second she asked about a herd. The tears threatening to break forth were enough to tell her what was about to spill forth from the pale ones mouth and she dipped her head in acknowledgment to her loss. That would be such a terrible thing to lose your entire family like that. She gave a small frown and let out a small sigh. "I'm terribly sorry to hear about such a great loss for you." She said meaning every word. "I'm pleased to hear that you found a life long companion, even in such a sad moment in your life. I'm sure Yamka has helped you with your loss?" She asked her.
She hoped she wasn't asking too much of her with her questions. "Would you care to walk with me? I think there is a small stream not to far ahead and I'm finding myself a bit parched, and I'm sure you're thirsty after the flying you had done before landing here." She said to her as she beckoned for her to walk along side her. She was enjoying the company of this mare a great deal, though so far there was nothing but sadness in their conversation. "I don't remember my past. I just remember bits and pieces and everything is like a cloudy haze." She looked at her as she spoke, keeping a small eye on their path ahead. "From what I know is I was attacked and lost my memory in the process." It was true, that was all she could remember. She had come to scared, injured and alone. With no memory of anything at all. It had been a rather rough time for her at first, but eventually she had made due.

Aiyana managed a faint smile of gratitude when the other mare was kind enough to offer her condolences. Sometimes speaking of the tragedy was okay and other times it left her a mess of tears. A nod of her head was given when asked about if Yamka helped, she knew she couldn't have done it without her. When the mare invited her to walk with her, she was certainly not going to pass up this chance. Bringing her light steps in tandem with the other, she listened as the horned mare spoke about losing her memory. She gasped, only able to imagine how scary it would be to not know anything about yourself.
"I will admit, I could certainly use a little water to drink. So it seems you remembered your name, unless someone told you. I would certainly be scared to wake up with injuries I did not remember receiving or my memories. Even if some of them are tragic, they all make me who I am. Do you think you will get them back?"she questioned, hoping the other did not mind her asking questions herself.

It made her heart feel heavy to know the female had lost her family to such a tragic event, though the mare had survived, so that was something to be thankful for, even if she had to carry the pains of her past with her for the rest of her life. She was pleased the mare was going to take her up on her offer to get some water. She gave a small nod of her head. "The only thing I really knew was my name to be honest, the rest that I do think I remember comes to me in hazy memories now and again... It's rather strange and odd at times." She said being honest about the experience. It wasn't always pleasing either. Especially when it was a bad memory that would come and haunt her rarely. Made her wonder she should get her full memory back or not.
"I do hope that I will get them all back in time. I would like to know where I come from and who I was, or rather who I am. Knowing my name is one thing, but knowing my past is something else." She said with a nod of her head. as she started to lead the mare towards where there was water that she knew of. "Though, I did recently find a friend from my childhood. Her and I used to be close at one point, and she filled me in on some memories from my past, though I don't remember any of the events still." She said just now thinking about Amadahy. She actually felt a little guilty for not remembering her friend, but nothing she could really do about that right now.

Aiyana listened to the other mare as she explained how she remembered things in hazy bits and pieces. As calm as she usually was, she would imagine it being very frustrating to get things back like that. It would also be scary if she just randomly remembered bad things, she felt sorry for the other. Walking beside the other, she could only hope Astraea would regain her memories.
"Well, since you are remembering some things, I would think that is a good sign. And I am sure your old friend will understand why you did not remember her. It isn't like you did it on purpose, you were attacked and are suffering amnesia. I am sure you wish you remembered her and I am sure in time you will,"she assured.

As the two walked towards the promise of cool refreshment she glanced over towards her as she spoke about how it's good she was remembering some things. She did have to agree with her, the fact she was remembering could be counted as a good sign. Though, she could just as easily not remember more than what she knew now. She wasn't sure how she felt about that, but she hoped that in time she'd remember everything. And Amadahy had been extremely understanding of the fact that she didn't remember her. Then again it had taken the flutter a while to realize who she was anyway. "I pray that in time I shall remember everything, though I will not hold my breath." She said warmly as she looked at the mare. Her gaze turned towards the water as they approached it and she dipped her muzzle to it and drank from it happily. After she was finished she looked back over at Aiyana. "She understood the situation and honestly it had taken her a little while to even figure out who I was. It had been a very long time since we had known one another." She said with a small nod. "Do you have somewhere safe to stay tonight?" She asked the mare curiously.

Aiyana paid attention as the other mare spoke, just as they came to the water that was spoken of. She was quiet as she bent her head down, sticking her muzzle gracefully into the water. She began to drink the refreshing, cool water until she had her fill and raised her head back up. Her light green eyes focused on Astraea once more, listening as she asked if she had a place to stay. With a gentle shake of her head, she answered the other's question.
"Well, I feel confident that your memories will return, no matter how long it takes. And I am glad your friend understood, probably helped it took time for her to figure out who you were. As for a place, I was just going to wait until close to night fall and curl up in the safest location I could find,"she admitted.

She pondered the mares words for a moment and then looked towards the sky to assess when night may fall. "If you wouldn't flying with me, I have a place not far from here we could travel to for the night." She offered her kindly not wanting the mare to have to fend for herself on this night. She hoped she would take her up on it and perhaps set out on her own again tomorrow. "It would be no trouble to me to share the spot with you." She said in reassurance in case she thought perhaps it would be an inconvenience to her.
She had spent many a night alone and left to fend for herself so if she could help the mare out in anyway, she'd feel much better about their parting. Even if the mare turned her down she had offered her the comfort of knowing she had a place to stay if she so chose.

Aiyana was surprised when Astraea offered her a place to stay for the night. A thoughtful look came to the younger mare's face, wondering if she would be intruding if she accepted. As if reading her mind, the other let her know it would be alright and that she would not mind. A soft smile came to the pink haired mare's face as she nodded her head.
"I would be honored to accept your kind invitation. Having a safe place to lay my head for the night would be greatly appreciated. Lead the way and I shall follow,"she replied. It would be nice to have someone around, even if it was just for a night. Sure, she had Yamka and she loved the little bat, but it was nice to have someone around her own size to interact with for once.
