Distracted by her latest find, Katrina hears her name but only just barely...
She had returned the purple stone comb to the proper princess and then with this.
What is it?
Long and slender but shiny. It looked like the shoot from one of the coral stalks but was not alive or had been...
Had it?
Fiddles with it while flickling her fin, hurriedly locating and swimming up to Alex.
Trying not to look like the riptide had overtaken her (out of breath).

Given their location so close to royal ears and those who would never dream - much less think - of such thoughts, Kat gapes like a codfish to Alex's inquiry. "Me a human?!" She averts her eyes to a direction she hopes he'll understand as a *follow me* gesture. Then turns as if insulted hoping he got the second meaning... "You might as well ask me to go net myself."

For Alex to asked thier mother on her behalf was a bit foolish though generous act.
Katrina didn't know anyone above - did she?
"I do want to see the surface world...eventually," the emotion both intimidating and exciting was - well - draining. "But I don't know if I'm ready to go right now - I have to learn something. Plan...you know?"
The joy from the most recent find was fading in the possible discoveries from above.
But would above like her...?
Too many questions...

Katrina felt more mixed up than the sediment after a tropical storm.
"I don't know what's up there. Except it's not - this!"
She motions with her hands, suggesting her world, what she knew...
"How would I know what to do? Who to..."
Kat's eyes fill with tears and she slumps back on her fin, feeling overwhelmed.
