At Large
Prompt 1

Can be used toward Battle req (or RP req only if done with a friend)
Solo word minimum is 500, RP post minimum is 7

It was bound to happen eventually.

With rumors of great beasts roaming the shores of Yael, many mainlanders flocked across the sea to capture the exotic beasts. In no time at all, they returned with large scaled monsters, dangerously translucent serpents, and turtles that carried the earth. These traders traveled across the Mainland to parade the beasts, going from Matori to Zena and everywhere between. Soon enough, everyone had either seen the Yaeli beasts or at least heard of them.

And they were sure to hear about the beasts when they escaped.

With such little knowledge of the foreign creatures, the traders underestimated the animals. In no time at all, the Yaeli beasts escaped into the wilderness and ended up near your location. With new creatures all but knocking on your door, what do you do? Do you dare to try and tame them, or do you run them off back into the wilderness? You better hurry, because these creatures are lost and scared, and are sure to cause some damage before they are captured once more....

|| The Yaeli familiars have been spotted in the following locations: Tintural (Oba and Matori), Keldari (Jauhar/Chibale and Tale), Limbara (Sauti and Zena). Only individuals in set locations can encounter the specific familiars.

|| If you are located in Yael, respond to this prompt as if you witnessing a mainlander abducting one of the newly announced familiars. Do you step in or run away? Use the same rolls below, but instead of subduing the beast, you are rolling to test your success for freeing it.

This prompt will be resolved by each player rolling 1D100 to test their success. (You can only roll once - there are no reattempts!)

xxxxxPrentice must roll 60-100 to successfully subdue the beast.
xxxxxStage 2 must roll 50-100 to successfully subdue the beast.
xxxxxStage 3 must roll 40-100 to successfully subdue the beast
xxxxxStage 4 must roll 30-100 to successfully subdue the beast.

Aseara still couldn’t believe that Nuri had brought her not only a Yaelian creature but one she thought was extremely dangerous and not yet tamed. She wasn’t very favorable towards anything from Yaeli. The thing was beautiful, but she didn’t exactly keep it out in the open where others could see. She was hoping to be comfortable with the creature at some point, but until Nuri actually tamed it and gave her confirmation that it was safe. She didn’t plan on getting any more creatures from Yaeli.

So when she heard that there were Yaelian creatures out lose, Aseara wanted to stay in and not come out until they’d all been caught. Of course that wasn’t how life worked and at some point Afsana did send her out for some errands. As much as Aseara had tried to give away the chore, she was not able to and so grabbed the list of items she needed to get and left with a small bag. She kept to the crowded areas, not even seeing a single Yaelian creature, and decided to take a short cut on her way home feeling a little safer.

When Aseara entered however she was faced with a Tintural and let out a deathening yell.

Another errand for his aunt, as usual, had him in Oba. It wasn't exactly where he wanted to be at the moment but there was no getting around it. With the recent death of his cousin both she and her son were too deep in sorrow to do much of anything on their own. His aunt had given him warning of the animals that had gotten loose but he didn't really listen. After all, he had Bastul with him.

Gael yawned as he walked, taking his time as he was on his way home now. He and his Zanteer often had a slower pace on the return. When he heard the scream of a female he blinked and looked around just as Bastul gave a yowl of his own. "What in the--?" The he saw a woman that didn't look like she was from the area and a.. What looked like a Bushi but wasn't.

What was that thing? Gael had to stare at it for a moment before he shook his head and remembered his aunt's warning. "Ah crap." With a wave of his hand he sent his familiar toward the woman and grabbed his shield with the other. He didn't want to fight the thing, since he didn't know how strong it was, but he could at least defend the lady.

Bastul moved to be in front of Aseara and bumped her with his head to push her back. The brown Zanteer kept his pushes light so that he didn't knock her over.

Aseara had been transfixed on the thing, a complete statue as she stood there holding her breath and trying not to seem menacing. The thing didn’t really “seem” dangerous, but you never knew. Maybe it spat out something poisonous or maybe its body itself was poisonous, Aseara didn’t want to get any closer or it get any closer to her. So she would stay in place until either it went away or someone came to help her, either way worked for her. She didn’t know if she could simply run from it because she couldn’t tell if it was fast or not.

When something brushed against her, Aseara slowly looked down while trying to keep an eye on the thing. There was a Zanteer gently pushing her back, was someone here to help her? The Wind girl looked back once, spotted the Matri and quickly stepped back until she was behind him.

“Careful! I think it’s dangerous!” She tried to peek over his shoulder at the thing wondering what he could do and if the shield would keep him safe. What if this thing spat out acid that ate through wood? They were all doomed if that was the case.

Once the woman was out of the way and behind him Gael looked at the creature. It was odd to him though it did share some similarities with the Bushi from his home territory. It was smaller of course, and looked like it might be a bit more on the mean side as far as any personality it had. While keeping one eye on it he turned his head so that he could speak to the girl. "Are you alright miss?" Before he could really do anything he'd need to make sure that the woman wasn't harmed in any way. After all he'd make a poor hero if the damsel was injured.

“I’m fine thank you,” Aseara said a little sheepishly. This man looked more than capable to take on the Yaelian creature, she felt a little bad for having made such a big deal about the situation. “Do you think it’s dangerous?” She asked him getting closer and peeking over his shoulder now that she was safety behind the warrior. “Should we go and get someone who knows these creatures?” Perhaps that was the safer alternative, if she’d learned anything from the Keldari Nuri had given her was that even the prettiest of things from Yael were downright dangerous in their own way.

Knowing that the woman was alright was a relief on his part. Gael didn't know the first thing about trying to heal someone if they needed it. His attention was fully glued to the creature when he heard the woman ask if he thought it was dangerous. "I will go with yes, just to be on the safe side." The young matorian nodded his head in agreement with his words.

"Back away slowly." Gael wanted to also tell her to stay near Bastul but he knew that his familiar wouldn't let the girl get hurt. He was odd like that. The Zanteer loved females. Something that Gael assumed was because they were always affectionate. "I don't fancy a fight with a beast that has a harder shield than me." Even he knew his wooden one would be broken within moments.

Aseara did as she was told, slowly backing away and keep her eyes on the man’s back. She didn’t want either of them to get hurt and if she had a sudden movement that somehow enraged the beast then she would not be able to live it down. Surely there was some beast merchant close by who had lost his familiar and was looking for it now.

“Perhaps its owner is not far?” She questioned, eyes darting behind her for a quick look. “I don’t dare run now, but once we’re both at a safe distance…” They’d both be able to evaluate the situation better and see just how dangerous the creature was.

His eyes stayed on the beast as they moved away but he listened when the woman spoke. "I'm not so sure it has an owner." Or if it did then they clearly weren't a people person.

Chancing a look back at her he nodded his head. "Get ready to run then, I'll be right behind you to make sure you aren't harmed." Gael looked back at the Tintural for a moment then told Aseara to run. Just as he did that he turned to follow right after her.

“Alright,” Aseara said waiting for him to tell her when to run. When he uttered the words, Aseara turned and began to run as fast as she could without falling flat on her face from getting tangled in her dress. She glanced back once to see he was still following her and when she thought they were at a safe distance stopped to catch her breath. A few people passed by them and gave them odd looks but Aseara ignored them.

“I don’t think it followed,” She said looking behind him. Or at least she thought it hadn’t followed them since no one had screamed from finding the tintural.

Since the lady was wearing a dress he watched to make sure her legs didn't get tangled in the thing. Kani often had that problem so he was used to it. When she stopped Gael did as well, though he didn't seem to be out of breath like she was. His familiar purred oddly before rubbing up against Aseara. "I don't think it did either." And just to be sure he turned to look back.

"I think we made a safe get-a-way." Giving a smile he looked back at her.

Feeling something on her leg, Aseara looked down and spotted the familiar. Smiling, she bent down to pat him and give him a good rub.

“Thank you for helping me out,” she said looking up to also giving him a smile. “I’m Aseara by the way.” She didn’t have anything on her to repay him, but there was one thing she could offer him. “I can’t repay you with anything material, but if you ever drop by the Red Amaryllis you’re more than welcomed to a dance, or music, or a song free of charge.” She shrugged before getting back up. “I know it’s not much, but it’s all I can offer. You just have to say that I sent you.”

Bastul reveled in the attention, giving the woman a few licks to her hand or arm to prove he enjoyed it. Gael eyed his Zanteer then shook his head at the beast. "Silly thing." Not that he could blame the creature for wanting such affections.

"I'm Gael, nice to meet you." He kept his manners even when avoiding dangerous monsters. As the woman said that she had nothing material to repay him with he started to lift a hand so that he could wave it off but she continued on by offering a dance or song. That made the male blush a bit. "Ah.. thank you." Gael didn't think he'd be taking her up on that offer, but it was considerate. After giving a slight cough so he could clear his throat he looked around to see where exactly they had ended up. "Do you need me to escort you anywhere or do you know where to go from here?"

“No no, I’ll be quite alright thank you. I don’t want to hold up any more of your time. Thank you.” Aseara got up and gave Gael one last smile and small wave before walking off and back towards the Red Amaryllis. She was going to have to warn the others to be careful if they decided to go out, especially at night. She didn’t’ think they’d be so lucky to find someone able to help them out, the dark outside wouldn’t help either. If Gael ever showed up, she’d make sure he received the best attentions.

(( Yay this is finished! ))

He nodded his head silently at her, unsure what else to say really, then watched her walk away. Gael's attention was on her just long enough to make sure she really was alright and then his familiar demanded to be petted. His hand landed on the Zanteer's head before his eyes did but he smiled at the beast and motioned his head for the two of them to head off as well. He had something to take care of now that the damsel was safe and on her way.
