At Large
Prompt 1

Can be used toward Battle req (or RP req only if done with a friend)
Solo word minimum is 500, RP post minimum is 7

It was bound to happen eventually.

With rumors of great beasts roaming the shores of Yael, many mainlanders flocked across the sea to capture the exotic beasts. In no time at all, they returned with large scaled monsters, dangerously translucent serpents, and turtles that carried the earth. These traders traveled across the Mainland to parade the beasts, going from Matori to Zena and everywhere between. Soon enough, everyone had either seen the Yaeli beasts or at least heard of them.

And they were sure to hear about the beasts when they escaped.

With such little knowledge of the foreign creatures, the traders underestimated the animals. In no time at all, the Yaeli beasts escaped into the wilderness and ended up near your location. With new creatures all but knocking on your door, what do you do? Do you dare to try and tame them, or do you run them off back into the wilderness? You better hurry, because these creatures are lost and scared, and are sure to cause some damage before they are captured once more....

|| The Yaeli familiars have been spotted in the following locations: Tintural (Oba and Matori), Keldari (Jauhar/Chibale and Tale), Limbara (Sauti and Zena). Only individuals in set locations can encounter the specific familiars.

|| If you are located in Yael, respond to this prompt as if you witnessing a mainlander abducting one of the newly announced familiars. Do you step in or run away? Use the same rolls below, but instead of subduing the beast, you are rolling to test your success for freeing it.

This prompt will be resolved by each player rolling 1D100 to test their success. (You can only roll once - there are no reattempts!)

xxxxxPrentice must roll 60-100 to successfully subdue the beast.
xxxxxStage 2 must roll 50-100 to successfully subdue the beast.
xxxxxStage 3 must roll 40-100 to successfully subdue the beast
xxxxxStage 4 must roll 30-100 to successfully subdue the beast.

Her trip into Matori had been all but abandoned, though she did do a quick little visit. Ming'we only made it to just inside the tropical borders but even that was lovely. Plus, she could see the ocean. Or, part of it. In the distance. It pained her to know she'd not be able to visit it and take a swim, but things happened.

As she turned to head back and get underway she came up short. There was something blocking her path. A creature of sorts. Ming'we didn't know that it wasn't indigenous to the area, it seemed to fit in so well. The Tintural looked as though it could be related to the Bushi. The blonde tilted her head and watched it as it moved. Something in it's demeanor told her that it was aggressive so she moved back a step and brought her crossbow up into position. There was no way she was going to let a creature coral her.

When the animal made a noise she clicked the mechanism that loaded her weapon. It wasn't exactly loud, but it had a threatening undertone to it. Apparently threatening enough o make the Tintural stop what it was doing and stare at her. The two stared into one anothers eyes in a stand off as they faced each other. For the longest time it seemed to be completely quiet. The sound of birds in the distance was the only break. As the beast moved again he seemed to completely ignore Ming and slowly turn his body away from her so he could move on.

She remained still just as she was with her weapon trained on him. If it suddenly moved she wanted to be ready. Of course, judging from it's current pace she wouldn't be in any danger of a blitz attack. Ming'we watched for a couple minutes more then dropped her crossbow. Slowly she clicked the pin so that it was no longer ready to fire. After all, it wouldn't do to escape being attacked only to shoot herself in the foot.

“Such an odd thing.” She commented to herself. Ming knew there were weird things in the world but she thought she knew all the beasts of Tendaji. Or at least had heard of them. Unless this was something from that new place. The blonde's eyes moved toward the ocean again as she thought about Yael. Had someone brought the beasts from the island to the mainland? Perhaps when she passed through a city she would ask.

Turning away from the waters in the distance and the beast that was slowly fading into the trees Ming decided that it was high time she got back on the road. Sauti was calling her name and she wanted to be home fast. “Wonder what that thing is called anyways.” Her words of curiosity were aired just as she neared the border that separated Matori from Oba. It certainly gave her something interesting to think about along the way.
