- Born into a well-off family, the latest into a long line of pure-blooded Quincy, Kurein was trained from an early age in the art. He proved to be skilled enough in using the bow, and was constantly seeking to improve himself. As such, he was never seen awake without his bow in hand, unless he was eating. It was recently that he decided to take a more active role as a Quincy, at which point he found that there was an alliance of sorts with some Shinigami Captains, despite what he had learned about the 1000 year war. Shrugging that off, he moved to assist however he could, accepting that at least some Shinigami were not his enemies.
