Considering the rotten luck Katrina'd been having when it came to her encounters with members of the opposing faction lately, she was actually relieved when she received the text messages from Priscilla. It would be nice to have a little girl's night out, especially since she hadn't made plans with anyone else for Single's Awareness Day. Even if she wasn't too thrilled about being called 'ho', she had fired a few texts back the next day after giving Prissy time to reconsider her decision. [ Text to Priss: Dinner and a movie good for you? ][ Text to Priss: Or did you have other plans, birthday girl? ][ Text to Priss: Guessing taking you for a ride on my bike is out. Wouldn't want to mess up your hair. ][ Text to Priss: Are you driving or do birthdays get a special car? ] Finally, after receiving no response to the first four (figuring at that point that Prissy was at work and unable to answer her phone): [ Text to Prissy: Just how old are you going to be anyways, Priss? ]

Truth be told, work was the furthest thing from Prissy's mind. The manager had dared to put her on the schedule, but after a gigantic hissyfit of glorious proportions, Daniel had kindly (and quickly) offered to pick it up for her, forgoing his own plans with his girlfriend. Which suited Prissy just fine. The texts had been initially ignored, the little bird tweet sounds muffled out by the two pillows that buried a mess of pink hair. She'd risen hours later, fixed her hair and makeup and only then did she glance at her iPhone. [Text to Kat: Cheesecake Factory, one at the mall. Her nose wrinkled as she read the responses that quickly pinged their way back to her phone. Deadpool? Really? What sort of romantic film name was that? Then again, there were always a few quirky-named movies out there. Fool's Gold came to mind (oh, Matthew McConaughey heart ), Crossroads...there were several out there with peculiar names. Maybe this one wouldn't be too bad. After all, Katrina wouldn't dare try to ruin her birthday celebration, right? [Text to Kat: Sounds awful. ] [Text to Kat: I guess. [Text to Priss: Bears + large coke + snocaps.I'll b ready by 6:45 ^.~ ] After sending the last text off Katrina set her phone down so that she could start digging through her closet for something appropriate enough to wear for a night out with Priscilla Stratford. It took her a little bit longer to select the perfect outfit this time. Usually she just tossed something together quickly; something comfortable and fun with just a splash of color to show off her personality, but if they were going out for Prissy's birthday she figured she could try just a little bit harder to wear something the other woman might actually approve of, for once. Once she'd set her outfit on her bed she grabbed a quick shower, making sure she had enough time to let her hair dry as she touched up her nails, ready to make the most of their Valentine's Birthday night out.

Dressing wasn't difficult for Priscilla Stratford. No, she had picked her birthday outfit out well in advance, ordering each bit and piece with meticulous care from either the world wide web or from digging through troves of clothes at the mall. A shower was also in order for her, followed by primping and drying and even more primping of her pink curls. Was she overdressed for dinner and a movie? Maybe. But she was twenty-one today and she'd be darned to spend a moment caring what anyone else thought - this was her day, after all. She'd ordered one of the maids to call in advance for reservations to the Cheesecake Factory. Timid Madeline had returned and meekly attempted to explain that the restaurant did not accept reservations - especially on holidays - but Prissy would hear none of it. Instead, she sent the poor girl ahead to wait in line for a table, standing outside in the cold with a small notification buzzer for well over an hour until Priscilla herself finally arrived. Irritated at not seeing her dinner date, she punched on her iPhone keys. [Text to Kat: waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiting ]It hadn't occurred to her to actually text her partner in crime for the evening the actual whereabouts of their meeting location, but that wasn't her problem. Her problem was that she was thirsty and about to seat herself at her newly prepared table and order some pink lemonade for herself, sugar rim on the glass included.

[Text to Priss: Inside or outside? ][Text to Priss: Had to get a cab. Didn't want to mess up outfit taking bike. ][Text to Priss: You'd better appreciate it. razz ] Katrina Halloran slid out of the cab after paying the driver, shifting the pink gift bag that she'd tossed together in her hand. She wouldn't have dreamed of showing up to Priscilla Stratford's birthday celebration without a gift of some sort, especially not if Prissy was paying for dinner. She kept her eyes on her phone as she stepped up onto the curb, ignoring those waiting outside to get in to the restaurant in order to hover closer to the doors. If Prissy was inside she was just going to head on in herself. Screw waiting.

She heard the blip on her phone and was just about to glance down at it when she caught a familiar sight in the corner of her eye - the duo-colored hair was pretty hard to miss, just as her own pink curls were an easy spot. " Finaaaally," She crooned, wagging a finger towards her friend. Her words implied she was annoyed, but her tone gave away her playful banter. "I was about to start without you." Her outfit still screamed PUNK but at the very least, she carried it out well. And pink. Prissy could appreciate the pink. ....not that she'd ever actually tell her companion that she had the very slightest bit of wardrobe approval. One arm looped around her friend's, dragging her off towards the table where Madeline sat. As the girls approached, the maid silently rose and nodded, fleeing the scene before Prissy could even raise one hand dismissively in her direction. Menus were placed before them, as well as a basket of various breads and butter. The waitress, looking haggard and worn-out from the especially busy holiday evening, eventually made her way towards the table. "Do you ladies know what you'd like to drink? Or eat, perhaps?" "Pink lemonade. Extra sugar on the rim." One finger trailed down the appetizer section, a pink nail pausing as it came across an especially scrumptious option. "And fried macaroni and cheese, to start. That." Eyes peered over the menu as she waited for her partner's response. She'd better know what she wanted to drink, at least, because Prissy was not about to wait another minute to get something in her stomach!

"Unsweet tea for me, no lemon. Honey, if you have it for a sweetener?" Her brow quirked at the waitress as she settled into her seat, unzipping her jacket so that she could shrug out of it and hang it on the back of her chair for the moment. She had been to this particular restaurant few times; no more than she could count on one hand, if that. The menu was not one that she was familiar enough with to know what she wanted and she didn't figure that Priscilla Stratford would give her much time to browse the menu. Instead she set it down, flashing the other young woman a smile. "Anything else that you would recommend, Priscilla? It is your birthday, after all. Maybe another appetizer you'd like to try yourself?"

She started to say the salads are good for those trying to lose weight but for once, held her tongue in check. As haughty as she was, Prissy did not forget the fact that the woman sitting across from her was the only lonely soul willing to give up their Valentine's Day weekend evening to spend with her - so she would be nice, for once. Okay, she would try to be nice, for once. "Pizza, if you're in to more simpler foods. Or their lobster is nice, if you're into eating underwater pinchy sea things." Eyes roamed across the menu, glancing across the various themes the restaurant offered with its options. Over two hundred choices left a large decision to be had - " Are you even a seafood fan? Or are you more of a steak and potatoes sort of lady?" Seeing as the couple continued their discussion while excluding the waitress, the woman departed from the table to fetch the drinks. She had a feeling, judging by the vibe at the table, that she might have her hands full for the next hour or so.

"Seafood and chicken, usually." From time to time she had the urge to sink her teeth into a nice, juicy steak, although it didn't happen all that often. Her diet generally consisted of things that were easy to grab off of a dollar menu at a restaurant or vegetables and things that were easily tossed together with rice to make a cost efficient, but filling meal. She had every intention of taking advantage of Prissy's father's hospitality that night. "Thinking about the Miso Salmon for dinner -- Oh my god. Have you ever tried the Loaded Baked Potato Tots?" Her eyes went wide as she finally looked at the appetizers, trying to ignore the way her stomach was responding to just the idea of all of the possibilities. "Nope. Portabella, avocado and zucchini fries. That's the appetizer I want whenever she comes back." It was probably a good thing she hadn't started with the cheesecake menu first or she probably wouldn't even have bothered with dinner.

Her nose wrinkled at both the thought of fish and fungus in a meal. At least salmon wouldn't stink up the table like some other options would - thank goodness for that. Reaching over towards the bread basket, she plucked one of the long sticks and unceremoniously ripped a segment off, taking her knife and sliding a sliver of butter on top of it. Prissy had been there several times, so was used to the large menu - she only had a few, select favorites so having to rifle through page after page was not her problem. The waitress barely had time to set their drinks on the table before she began with her ordering. "Filet mignon, medium rare. Salad, no fries." Eyes didn't bother to rise to meet the waitress's, her focus still on the grain bread between her thumb and forefinger. "Wait - no, I may munch on some fries. Keep those too." Her knife pointed in Kat's direction, signaling her turn. The other woman was far more gracious in her ordering, allowing the waitress time to actually jot down her request in a non-barking manner. As soon as the girl left the table, Prissy bit into the bread and chewed. "So, ever been here before, KittyKat?"

Katerina pondered the merit in lying, certain enough that she could bullshit her way through things well enough to say that she had been here before, plenty of times at that. There didn't seem to be a point in it that night though, at least not when she had already lied enough to get Prissy to agree to see Deadpool with her after dinner. "No. I mean, not so much as come in to sit down and have dinner. I've gotten a slice of cheesecake to go before, though." For the moment she let it be all the more obvious that she hadn't been too far inside the establishment before, spring green eyes wide as they drifted about the room to take in the unique decor. Then, to draw a bit of attention away from herself she glanced back at Prissy, reaching out to gently prod the other woman's glass of pink lemonade. "Please tell me you actually ordered something with alcohol in it, Priss. It's your twenty-first birthday and that doesn't look like an Electric Lemonade to me." What kind of terrible friend would she be if she didn't convince Priscilla Stratford to have at least one drink on her birthday?

While her companion may have pondered the merits of lying, Prissy saw no reason to. Well, sort of. "Like I would even know where to begin." A single finger moved to scrape off some of the sugar, then moved to her mouth. Prissy had been excited about the prospect of going out to drink - she was twenty-one today, after all - but the excitement had slowly begun to dissolve, the longer the day grew on. She didn't have the first clue as to what to drink. Her boarding school had been full of snobs and, well, prissy girls but their interpretation of a wild and crazy weekend was going over their father's allotted limit on a shopping spree. Drinking? Drinking made you act stupid and that's how so many college girls had gotten themselves on shows like Girls Gone Wild and whatnot, cementing the ruin of their reputation on a permanent level. At least, that's what she reasoned in her head. She knew it had a bitter taste, but also knew that several recipes had a way of dressing it up - making it taste and look prettier than booze really was. Eyes cut across to her partner as she took a sip of her non-alcoholic beverage. Maybe, just maybe, she could trust her with this decision. "Is there...anything pink?"

"Of course there are pink drinks. Why wouldn't there be? That's where all of the best flavors are. Strawberry, cotton candy..." Okay, so those were just two flavors that she listed, but Prissy didn't seem like the sort of girl who would find something wrong with either of those; not the cotton candy, at the very least. "What about a cotton candy martini? I saw someone make one of those on YouTube before. They bring you out a glass rimmed in sugar with a lump of cotton candy in it and then they pour the drink mix over it and the cotton candy dissolves. Makes everything super sweet. Right up your alley, right? Plus martinis are sophisticated." Or something like that, Katrina thought to herself as she reached out to snag a breadstick, breaking off a small piece to nibble on. "If they don't have the stuff to make that it does look like there's a pink lemonade on their drink menu," she turned said menu towards her friend so that she could point out the drink in question. "There's also a strawberry martini on here." And something called a 'Peach Mint Julep' that looked like it would pack a punch along with a nice bit of flavor, but Prissy didn't seem like she would be much of a whiskey type and Kat wasn't exactly old enough to order one herself. "You should get something. You only turn twenty-one once and I don't want you going around telling people that your birthday was dull just because you didn't have a drink to toast it."
