Jauhar was drastically different from her island home. The temperature was hot, but sticky and the trees loomed miles above the petite girl. Still she wasn't intimidated, but rather was finding enjoyment in the differences. This was what she loved about the world, how different places could be. So many inspirations could be taken from Jauhar that she may have not found in Matori. The only thing to dampen her mood was the loss of her family.

Ahren. She had told him she would be fine and that he could leave without her. But what now? Did she just randomly decide to find her way with music? "I need to find someone to teach me." Nadiya frowned at the thought. Did she just wander and pick up from other minstrels here and there? If only she could find the one who had truly inspired her so long ago...

For now she was mostly interested in exploring Jauhar before crossing into the other countries. Time to make the most of today~ That in mind the girl shouldered her pack and started to move through the trees.

Sitting up in a tree, Rhonann sat with a pout, looking around for her target, slingshot spinning in hand. She was going to get dinner for sure this time. Those stupid bugs wouldn't escape her again!

She perked up hearing something moving through the forest, and then sighed heavily. That definitely wasn't one of those maglardilla.. Glaring up at the distant canopy, she sighed and hopped down the branches. Well, she needed a break anyway.

Landing on the bottom branch, she squatted down and grinned at the stranger. When the stranger came into view, her eyes widened. Blue skin? Ear fins? "Who are you? ..What are you? Not like any Alkidike I've seen."

"Is there ever an end to these trees?" Nadiya swatted at a low hanging branch before freezing in her steps. Who? Blinking the Matori turned to look through the trees. In fact, it actually took a full circle of dancing around before she spotted the other girl. As she regained her stance, the girl spread her feet apart and sternly placed a hand on her hip."What am I?" Nadiya frowned as she studied the other girl. It was obvious she was from Sauti, that much she recognized. Had she truly not seen a Matori before?

"I'm not an Alkidike, that's why." Nadiya pouted faintly, "I know Matori is a bit away, but we do come through here on occasion. And I'm not a what, I'm a who. I'm Nadiya. What about you, tree sitter?"

Chuckling lightly, Rhonann cocked her head in amusement as the stranger spun. Shifting to sit on the branch and let her legs swing, she leaned forward to get a look now that the girl was standing still. "Well, obviously you're not an Alkidike," she mused with her little smirk. "Matori... that's a place, right? Far from here."

Tree sitter? She couldn't help laughing out loud. "Tree sitter? Guess that's what I get. Okay, Nadiya. I'm Rhonann. ..You know what I am? Other than being a tree sitter~"

"I think it would take three of me just to reach an Alkidike." Quipped Nadiya with a smirk, "It is. It's a land by the ocean." It wasn't the farthest away, but it was pretty far from here. I guess I chose correctly in stopping here. Even if she wanted to go home it would take many days of travel through many countries...

Nadiya smirked at the girl's reaction, "Would you rather be tree floater?" Everyone was up in the trees and here she was on the ground. It was far easier than slipping around on those ladders, "Well you're a Rhonann, obviously." She couldn't help teasing before waving a hand, "That's easy though based on your crystals, eyes, and hair...you're from Sauti?" She smiled lightly, "I'm from a traveling caravan so I've been through a few countries here and there to know. So....did I pass my test? What do I get?"
PostPosted: Mon Feb 15, 2016 12:15 pm

"That's true," she mused with a smile. The Alks sure were tall, and this gal was closer to her own size. Being from another area of the land made sense. From what she'd seen so far, looks were determined quite a bit by location.

Brow rising, she smiled and nodded. "So I've been told." Sauti... It certainly sounded familiar, and others had told her such before, but it didn't particularly draw her attention. She would go there one day, but she had to wait...

Cocking her head again, she laughed and hopped down. "You get the honor of being welcome in my presence~" she boasted with a grin. "You said a caravan? What brought it here?"

"At least you acknowledge it." Nadiya smirked at the reply. Even against a normal earthling she barely stood at their height so it was even more comical to see her with an Alk. At least Matori had been more open so that she wasn't always so aware of it, but when encircled by giant trees...well it definitely brought her small existence into perspective.

"You've been told?" Nadiya quirked an eyebrow at the strange comment, "Do you not know your own homeland?" Perhaps a merchant family lived all the way out here and had children without going home? Seemed rather strange considering the countries had only recently opened up so fully to each other. Perhaps in another generation or so that would become more normal for families...it definitely was an interesting thought.

"Oh!" Nadiya chuckled at her prize, "I would have never expected such a gift! I am definitely honored." She winked playfully before her expression shifted with the question. Besides my disobedience against my family's wishes? Shaking the thought out of her mind, Nadiya only offered a faint smile. "Trades. My brother is a traveling merchant that sales my family's wares from Matori, so here we are. Not the most exciting tale, is it?" She shook her head wistfully, "I'm sure yours is much more interesting than a merchant's family."

Bouncing on the balls of her feet, Nadiya navigated around some of the large roots to get closer to the other girl, "But do you? Have a more interesting story than me?" She couldn't resist asking. Obviously the previous comment about the girl's supposed origins had snagged her interest. It truly was hard for the bard to ignore such a potential story lead.

Rhonann hesitated a moment before smiling enigmatically. She was content to leave the mystery as that for the moment. She was getting used to not looking for clues with every stranger she met.

Grin broadening, she bowed her head slightly in acknowledgement. "It's about time someone appreciates it." Giggling, she paid attention to the tale. A travelling merchant? Expression softening slightly, she gave Nadiya a small smile and shook her head. "Isn't it exciting as it is to be able to travel? Being a merchant might not mean seeking adventure, but it can be found all the same."

As the Matorian came closer, looking so eager with anticipation, Rhonann blushed slightly. "Eh... I, um, don't really have a story... It's really boring." Raising her eyes again, she grinned. "One day it'll be exciting, just not yet."

Oh? Nadiya's interest truly was perked now. By the silent reply she realized that surely there was more going on now with the other girl. Definitely a story in the making. Watching Rhonann only perked Nadiya's interest more. Still, I'll behave...for now. It wasn't always appropriate to attack strangers with a string of questions after all.

"Of course." Nadiya smiled teasingly, "Obviously there's something shinning inside of ya. I can feel it. And you were nice to me so I'll give you that." Perhaps she relied too much on her intuition, but this girl seemed to be a good find. It was nice to have a friendly face after her recent farewell with her brother, it truly perked her up.

"I suppose it should be seen that way, right?" Nadiya shrugged, "I suppose it lost appeal after I found my new path in life. Once I wanted nothing more than to trade alongside my brother, but now I have other inspirations." Without thinking her hand had trailed down to the flute that was secured against her waist. Music indeed was her life blood after all, "I found that it was easier to separate from the merchant life so I could go out and find adventures in my own way." Even if she would miss her family dearly at least she was living the life she had always dreamed of. She flushed lightly as she glanced towards Rhonann, "I'm new to being on my own, however, so I guess the adventure seems a bit daunting at first." She truly was still struggling to figure out her own path now.

At the denial Nadiya paused in mid-step. Instead of resting her arms the girl placed a hand once more on her hip so she could stare down Rhonann, "So you're promising a future story, but for now it's nothing?" She twisted her lips thoughtfully, "Are you then seeking a story like me? An adventure?" Nadiya crossed her arms as she finished taking a few steps forward so she could be closer, "So you really have nothing yet? No idea about where the story leads?" Curiosity danced in her gaze. Perhaps there was a reason for this encounter? She could already imagine running into the other girl in later years so that they could swap stories. To think! Both of them just now were starting out on some adventure and gods only knew what their futures held...Nadiya smiled at the possibilities, "I suppose everyone has to start somewhere before their story really takes off."

Rhonann chuckled lightly. Shinning? That was nice to hear... It seemed pretty easy to like this girl.

Leaning against the tree, Rho smiled lightly. "Can't help being distracted when one life ends, and another begins, right? Can't blame you for being excited about your new path. You do seem excited. ..Though, that's the charm of it, right? New adventure, new life.. keeps you on your toes."

Her eyes widened slightly as the girl became even more interested in the vague history. Watching the various expressions and growing interest, she laughed with delight. "Actually, I'm doing a little bit of everything... I'm seeking a new story, new adventures, and also a story that has already been written and forgotten." Sighing slightly, she poked a finger up at her head. "I have amnesia, and don't remember a thing before only recently."

"I suppose." Nadiya nodded as she glanced around them, "Especially when the new scenery is so exciting. If you don't find something to look forward to then what's the point? All you'll end up doing is moping about the past." She crinkled her nose, "And I'm definitely not too keen on that idea."

"Oh." The little sound escaped Nadiya as she listened to Rhonann, "That sounds fantastic! I mean...I'm sorry you can't remember anything, but that means you have so many possibilities." Her gaze gleamed, "What if you were some noble lady or had some drastic love story or something else even more amazing to discover?" She flushed lightly, "I mean...if you could have such a background that definitely would be a story of its own. But to have the chance to adventure in order to recover it? That's even more amazing."

She laughed lightly, "I suppose since it's my job to retell stories with my music that such news excites me." She reached up to tuck a short strand of hair away from her face, "I try not to get too carried away, but that does seem lovely. Some of the best tales start off in mystery~ I do hope you can find your past though. Perhaps if you do then I'll have to meet you again so I can keep it with my collection of tales."

PostPosted: Mon Feb 15, 2016 3:33 pm

Rhonann smirked and gave Nadiya a thumbs up motion. "And I don't have a past to mope about yet, so I'm set." ..She often did mope about what was missing, but Nadiya did remind her of her earlier decision... Looking forward was more important.

And it only kept getting better. Those she did talk to about her missing past would more often than not regard her with sadness, or pity. Mnyiri had been one of the exceptions. With Nadiya though, nothing but excitement came from this girl. It was a pleasant surprise, and kept her heart from venturing to darker thoughts.

"You have a nice job," she approved. "Telling stories, finding excitement in everything," She nodded enthusiastically. "If you see you again, you'll definitely hear about it. I want my own story, and it'll be good to share it once I have it."

I never got this quote. =w= Else I would have tagged asap. Sorry!

"Good to hear." Nadiya laughed, "I suppose that's one plus of things, right? Ya don't have to worry about what you've done before." She winked, "I would make the best of it that I could." Perhaps it would make her own travels lighter, not having to worry about a family or home left behind.

"Thanks." Nadiya flushed lightly, "It's the one thing I've always been good at. My family often complained I had my head in the clouds so why not? The younglings all loved my stories as well." She held up a finger towards Rhonann, "That better be a promise! I'll definitely hold you to that. Rhonann, Memories Lost~ That will be the title for your melody."

Smiling the girl settle back and glanced around, "So are you traveling through Jauhar or are you thinking that this might be the place to start your story?" It was her starting place as well. Before coming here Nadiya would have never thought about things the way she did now. Ahren had truly opened up both her mind and her heart to that. Shaking her head the girl turned her attention back towards Rhonann, "I suppose I should figure out my own path as well. You don't happen to know any famous minstrels, do you?"
PostPosted: Mon Feb 15, 2016 9:08 pm

Rhonann smiled lightly. That's right. She could worry about what she didn't remember, but she didn't have to.

Grin widening, she pointed a finger right back at Nadiya. "Only if that is a promise as well! I will definitely want to hear my tale in a story."

Brow rising, she grinned even more and spread her arms. "This here is the beginning of my story. I know it's not a big crash-bang of a beginning, but it's something. Surely starting a story with the beautiful heroine under the horrible curse of amnesia will pique the interest of audiences with ease." Laughing, she pointed her finger again. "You're welcome~"

"Oh great!" Nadiya laughed and was almost tempted to dance happily, "Of course, of course~ I would never hold back on anyone's story." She grinned as she waved a hand at Rhonann, "I'll even make up stories without meaning to, so actually having the background for one will be a breeze. You just have to make sure to stick in some good dramatic moments here and there for me."

Nadiya's grin spread at Rhonann's enthusiasm, "Thank you, kindly~" She winked as she took a few bouncing steps forward, "Well let's get on with things then beautiful heroine!" She paused and glanced around them before frowning slightly, "In all seriousness...do you have a good idea of where we are?" Nadiya flushed lightly, "Hard for me to get on my own travels when I keep walking in circles around these trees."
