Lucinda had convinced her trainer, Deanna, to go to the park with her. The blue haired girl led the way to a shady area and helped Dea sit down under one of the trees. Then once she was situated, Lucy went to a neighboring tree and sat down, pulling out a book from her bag. She leaned her back against the tree and carefully opened the book, beginning to read.

It was finally spring, and James was taking full advantage. He'd packed himself something to snack on and was planning on spending the day outside. It was still muddy from the melted snow in some areas, but he'd found a relatively dry spot under a tree. He didn't notice Lucinda or her mother on the otherside. He unwrapped his lunch; a sandwich, a box of juice, and a large oatmeal raisin cookie.
His mom must have tucked that in at some point, he didn't remember packing it.

Lucy looked up from her book momentarily and saw someone else in the park enjoying the day. Seeing him pull out some food, her own stomach growled, reminding her she was hungry. She carefully placed her book down in front of her, looking over to her trainer.
"Dea, can I have one of the egg salad sandwiches we packed, please?"she requested gently. Dea nodded her head as she pulled the cooler in front of her and unzipped it. Then she reached in and grabbed a sandwich, before handing it over to Lucy, who thanked her for it. Then the blue haired girl opened the ziplock bag and pulled the sandwich up a little, before taking a bite.

James noticed the people on the other side of the tree. He inched closer to them, blinking. Oh, they seemed to be having lunch too. It was a good day to eat outside.
Did he want to interrupt them? No. Besides, he didn't even know them.

Lucy was looking around the park as she worked on her sandwich, when she saw a boy scoot closer. She tilted her head slightly, wondering if he wanted some company or something. He didn't seem to speak, which left the teen girl even more confused than he was before. She was tempted to just leave him alone, but she had this feeling he wanted to talk to someone.
"Hello there,"she greeted softly.

James looked up. He hesitated, a siren going off in his head. A girl was talking to him. A girl! A girl! He looked down, fidgeting slightly. "Hi," he said, awkwardly. He took a bite of his sandwich to discourage further talking. He swallowed and looked to Lucy again.
"What kind of sandwich is yours?"

Lucy could see he was getting a little uncomfortable, so she was quiet for the moment. She let him eat in peace, eating her own silence as she tried to think of what to say. Thankfully, the other spoke up before she had come up with something to talk about. When he asked what kind of sandwich, she smiled softly, taking the top off what remained of her sandwich.
"It is an egg salad sandwich, one of my favorites. Dea's mom used to make them for us when Dea was growing up. Oh, by the way, Dea is my trainer, the brunette I am picnicking with. What kind of sandwich are you having?"she asked.
