At Large
Prompt 1

Can be used toward Battle req (or RP req only if done with a friend)
Solo word minimum is 500, RP post minimum is 7

It was bound to happen eventually.

With rumors of great beasts roaming the shores of Yael, many mainlanders flocked across the sea to capture the exotic beasts. In no time at all, they returned with large scaled monsters, dangerously translucent serpents, and turtles that carried the earth. These traders traveled across the Mainland to parade the beasts, going from Matori to Zena and everywhere between. Soon enough, everyone had either seen the Yaeli beasts or at least heard of them.

And they were sure to hear about the beasts when they escaped.

With such little knowledge of the foreign creatures, the traders underestimated the animals. In no time at all, the Yaeli beasts escaped into the wilderness and ended up near your location. With new creatures all but knocking on your door, what do you do? Do you dare to try and tame them, or do you run them off back into the wilderness? You better hurry, because these creatures are lost and scared, and are sure to cause some damage before they are captured once more....

|| The Yaeli familiars have been spotted in the following locations: Tintural (Oba and Matori), Keldari (Jauhar/Chibale and Tale), Limbara (Sauti and Zena). Only individuals in set locations can encounter the specific familiars.

|| If you are located in Yael, respond to this prompt as if you witnessing a mainlander abducting one of the newly announced familiars. Do you step in or run away? Use the same rolls below, but instead of subduing the beast, you are rolling to test your success for freeing it.

This prompt will be resolved by each player rolling 1D100 to test their success. (You can only roll once - there are no reattempts!)

xxxxxPrentice must roll 60-100 to successfully subdue the beast.

|| Success or fail, completion of this event rewards you with 15 EXP!

|| If you roll a 95-100, you get to keep the familiar! Congrats!

Lixes rubbed a hand against his face, trying to wipe away the dirt that clung to it, and found himself starring on ahead toward where the weird, shiny snake had escaped to. It was like nothing that Lixes had ever seen before and he'd wanted to capture the strange thing for his brother Drexl... though without much in the way of luck. He'd tried chasing it down, tried stepping on its tail to halt its movements, even tried tackling it so that he could wrestle it into submission but without much in the way of success. It would appear as though he wasn't meant to get anything out of the battle against the serpent save for a few bruises here and there. It was, all in all, a bit on the embarrassing side. He was a hero in training after all and yet he couldn't even defeat a simple reptile in battle? Now if he'd had his father's hammer it would be a different story altogether... then again if he had his father's hammer then the poor thing would have been smashed into jelly, not captured to give to Drexl, so it was lose lose either way.

He had to go find his brother, tell him about the weird snake that he'd found, and maybe Drexl would be able to catch it for himself? It would be a waste not to at least let him know that something so weird was round... not that it was big enough to ride around on or anything. Drexl had talked before about wanting to be a rider and the snake had been a bit too small for that sort of thing but still, surely he could use it as a pet or something, right? He was certain that his brother would love something so shiny and strange looking! It was just too bad that he couldn't be the one to bring such a beast to Drexl.

Pushing himself up to his feet he set to brushing away the dirt that clung to the rest of him, hoping that his parents wouldn't flip out over the dirt and bruises. It wasn't as though he'd gotten into a real fight against a real enemy after all. Sure, the serpent hadn't been amused in the slightest when Lixes had gone after it, going as far as to hiss and bite at him, but it hadn't been sucessful. Instead it was pretty quick to flee and hide itself within the roots of the various giant trees that grew in Jauhar. Lixes had known that the very moment that he'd lost track of the serpent that he wouldn't find it again. It was probably long gone, but that didn't mean that he wouldn't chase after it again if his brother decided that he wanted to try to find the thing.

Giving a bit of a grin he turned on his heel, starting back toward home, all the while attempting to make himself presentable... or at least as presentable as a mess like him was. He could always tell them that he was 'playing hero' and that was how he got the bruises. Probably better then telling them that he'd tackled a weird snake... he somehow figured that telling them that would probably get him grounded for life. As it were the snake could have been venomous after all... or bad tempered or the squeezing sort or otherwise dangerous. He should probably be happy that the thing seemed more eager to run away then it did to fight or else he might have been in real danger. Oh well, it had all worked out, so he was more worried about being grounded then he was over the potential danger the snake had posed to him.
