As the title implies, I am free for a roleplay or two. The trouble is, I have not roleplayed in a while and therefore have no current ideas for a roleplay.
I am, however, open-minded and willing to give most anything a try. I do have weakness though, and mostly it includes any technical knowledge of guns, or weaponry of that sort (kinda like that person who can only say 'pew pew', as opposed to being able to make the proper sound effects), though I suppose that could be easy to flub through.
You know what, instead of listing my weaknesses, I'll say what I believe I am relatively good at:
- Fantasy - Modern (ex, mafia, school, socialite, etc.) - Post-apocalypse - Video game inspired - Romance - Supernatural (ex, vampires, demons, etc.)
Or a combination of those types.

My preferences lean towards superpower, swords/sorcery, magic, some mecha and sci fi. I've been focused like mad on Bleach and mutant RPs in recent years. That is by far not my limit, but what I am most accustomed to. Attached are two profiles of my more recent characters.
Wraith
Name: Wraith Age: 40 Human/Mutant: Mutant, turned by poison Appearance: human-like, white hair, pale skin, pale gold eyes Visible Mutation Changes: Similar to Albinism Primary Power:Obtenebration Secondary Power:Shadow travel Personality: Dedicated to making a better world, sees the attack as a wiping of the slate. Humans were a dead end, the future must be embraced whole-heartedly. A zealot, a paladin. The terrifying and methodical tactics of the true believer. Faction: Don't kill the humans. Every society needs useless workers. Still, if the cattle rebel, then examples must be made. All movements require a few martyrs. Bio: The human that was only a rebellious teen he was died when the attack occured. He was not the strongest, nor the fastest. In fact, he was very mediocre, and unsure of his life. He only knew that he was destined for something greater. Then came the strike. Some died in the damage and blast. Others died from unsanctioned mutations that negated the ability to survive. It was a mass evolutionary experiment- and he was a success. Always trying to hide and stay out of the way, the boy began to grow paler by the hour- until he was ghost like. He still felt alright, but pigment left him in massive amounts. even his brown eyes became a pale gold as a shadow of their former color. He discovered the shadows moved at his command, and he even could use them to transport himself from one shadow to the next.
Unfortunately, he was caught in a botched attempt to move, and it cost him a leg. In this new world, medical science was anything but. He managed to tie off what was left of his limb, but rather than see it as a detriment, the boy realized this was proof of his success. He normally wears pants that cover his legs, and nobody knows the difference. Only he knows that his left leg is a construct of shadows. As one with such command and dependence on dark manifestations, he renamed himself Wraith. Without a society of humans, he no longer needed to depend on the idea of a personal and family name orientation. Nobody knows who he was before- all the know is that Wraith is a champion of mutantkind and evolution. Anything extra: if knocked out, or he turns his abilities off to rest, his left leg "deflates" inside his pants.

Character__Specs
Name ▶ Kouhei Mori Gender ▶ Male Weight ▶ 157 Height ▶ 6' Physical Appearance ▶ Slight of build, dull gray hair and eyes, light skin. His appearance gives credence to a man that spent his life learning to maximize his mind rather than his body. The consequence makes him quite agile and lithe. He typically remains in traditional garb of a shihaksho and haori with one stubborn distinction. Rather than wear the coat of a squad four, his insignia remains the moniker of the lost squad 12. His haori is tattered and worn, but he refuses to relinquish it. He does carry a set of glasses to wear on occaision, but such are not required for normal vision. Equipment ▶ The inside of his Haori has been augmented with dozens of small pockets for carrying minor items such as writing utensils and small tools. Typically he has small caches of wiring and smaller electronic parts with him as well as the tools to use them for repairs or building on a small scale. One Unique Thing ▶ Mori fancies the motief of a venomous predator- like the spirit to his sword (a spider). As such, he has done extensive research on venoms and antivenins. while not immune, he is resistant to most poisons. This means he will succumb to most poisons or venoms, but such takes longer. Very weak poisons are ineffective. Personality ▶ Kouhei Mori is known for his biting words and wit, highly intelligent and arrogant. He does accept change and when he is wrong- but refuses to do so without evidence. He is cautious, calculating, and fond of traps for his enemies. He treats nearly all with excess caution, and has on more than one occasion pointed out that he was never ordered to be "nice." while willing to follow orders, it is not uncommon for him to try and find a way around directives to suit his own aims. Biography ▶ Kouhei dreamed of becoming a member of the only squad that mattered to him. Through the days of the academy, he remained purposefully mid-range in his classes with the exception of aptitudes for science. He pushed all his skills to make sure his assignment would be in the research and development division. As a reserve plan, he did allow some freedom of expression within the kido training and showed an aptitude for Bakudo. Upon graduation, he was sent to the 12th as he had dreamed. This reinforced his arrogance as it was precisely what he had calculated. Shortly after arriving, the current captain Akio Tao saw fit to promote him to the 8th seat. Unfortunately, shortly after his promotion he disagreed with the captain in a rather brash way. Challenging her authority, he took massive risks in telling her off to her face. Regardless of the risks, he questioned her right to lead a squad of science when she was no scientist. Shortly thereafter, she resigned- unable to combat Kouhei's logic. He was named the successor of the squad, making his meteoric rise to power one of the fastest in recent memory.
His time as captain was not long, but during his tenure he encouraged inter-department development of defensive weaponry. Allowing for personal freedoms whenever possible, he valued results far more than interpersonal relationships. There was little solidarity in his squad, but most were allowed to do as they saw fit allowing for great scientific progress. When Captain Mori was called upon to help reclaim squad 10 from an entrenched enemy force, he jumped at the chance to prove himself. That ended in failure, and Mori was not kind to himself. He was apt to dicipline his subordinates in a harsh and physical way after that. Shortly after that battle, the decision was made to attack Hueco Mundo in a decisive strike. Mori refers to this event as the "Incursion," and was the defining moment for both sides of the war. Both forces were decimated, leading to the dilapidated forces that remain.
After the war, squad 12 was nearly obliterated. Only two survivors were initially found, and the area was razed into rubble. Captain Mori was given dominion over the remnants of squad four, and he redubbed the group the Support Corps. He has been tasked with not only saving lives, but the rebuilding effort to bring the Seireitei back from the ruin it has become. After a serious bout of depression, the captain has begun his work with a hint of his old ways. Offically, he intends to follow orders and rebuild what once was. Secretly, he is more than ready to institute his will through all the Seireitei through the technology he once commanded.

Spirit Name ▷ Aitourensa Spirit Appearance ▷
A large spider that stands 4' high at the topmost point while standing. There resides a distinctive bump behind the eyes where a large brain is located. The front two pedipalps are similar to arms for manipulation of tools and dexterity-laden tasks. Colors are a pale tan/light gray with two darker stripes going down the abdomen Spirit Personality ▷ Aitourensa is calculating and mischevious. While never opposing Mori, the spider often gives answers that are less than direct. It speaks in whispers and often only sends emotional states when it feels like communicating. More oft than not, it waits and watches, collecting information. Such is not uncommon for it to know more than Mori does of a situation and remain silent. Additional Traits ▷ The spider is the basis for Kouhei's battle style. It likes to be roundabout and use traps to get a point across. This includes verbally, using trickery and riddles when a simple answer would be best. Inner World ▷ A six-way intersection of a heavily urban area, with tall buildings all around. The oddity is that the buildings are vacant and long since abandoned. Vines and growth have overtaken them to create an extensive network of connections between all of them. In the middle of the intersection, the center of the 'web,' is a small collection of items to make a camp. A bed, some shelves with books, a fire pit. The area looks like it was left to be reclaimed by nature and somebody (Aitourensa) has made it a home.
Zanpakuto__Specs
Zanpakuto Name ▶ Aitourensa Zanpakuto Sealed Appearance ▶ A simple oriental style sword, katana style. The blade itself has a faint etching of a chain on both sides of the blade as decoration. The cross-piece appears round, but on closer inspection, it is eight segemented legs that are bent onto one another to create the circle. The handle is red with black wrappings around it.
Shikai ▷_______________ State ▷ Stand Alone Release Phrase / Action ▷ "Sasayaki, Aitourensa." Physical Change ▷ The blade shortens and broadens, turning at a 90 degree angle to create a scythe, and a 10' long chain grows from the bottom of the handle. At the end of the chain is a heavy weight. The sword becomes a ksurigama.
Shikai Power ▷ By slamming the weighted end into the ground, Kouhei can send out a shadowed area from the point of impact. Range can be done in a cone away from kouhei, or in an area of effect around the impact site with a 3' "safe area" around the initial strike. From the darkened area, 100 chains will erupt, each with a weighted end. If the new chains strike a solid object (wall, building, etc), they will anchor in and become stable as long as the structure they anchor to holds. Each chain is 100 feet long, and upon striking/anchoring, will tug back to remain taut. If no anchor point is reached, they fall limp along the ground. Striking an opponent would be as strong as if Kouhei had hit that person with all his strength, and does so for each chain. The chains erupt at random to create a tangle of chains in an area. The chains last for three turns, and then dissipate. At that time, Kouhei can use the power again- but not before. Advanced Shikai Power ▷ Rending Chains: Kouhei gains control of 50 of the 100 chains. Those chains become barbed and sharp-edged. The prehensile nature of these chains only lasts the initial post of release, after which the barbed chains are no longer controllable, and remain like the other chains summoned by shikai.
Bankai ▷_______________ State ▷ Stand Alone Release Phrase / Action ▷ "Only one way out." / Piercing ground Physical Change ▷ Similar to the power of the shikai, a part of the weapon is thrust into the ground. From there, a much larger area of land is covered in shadow and transformed almost instantaneously into a dense and overgrown forest. The actual size of the forest is up to and including 100 yards tall, with a diameter of 800 yards. Moss covers the uneven ground and large rocks litter the forest floor. Trees dense enough to bathe the area in shadow grow mostly straight with a few that bend in wicked ways. Littered all over the forest floor are decayed bodies and skeletons of people that came here once and never left. The area is an Aokigahara, a suicide forest. Bankai Power ▷ The forest rejects all that is not either itself or Kouhei. Irritants such as enemy combatants find the tree roots apt to catch and hold onto limbs, the branches swing of their own volition to strike down all that move or make noise within the area. Vines and tendrils reach out with surprising strength to bind and choke victims. The forest itself seeks to kill any within other than Kouhei Mori. He is ignored.
In the event of destroying the trees, they will regenerate and grow back. the inital post where damage occurs will remain unhealed. A second post will show the beginnings of growth. The third will have healed a small clearing. The fourth, a medium size area, and by the fifth post the forest will be back to full strength again. Advanced Bankai Power ▷ Nihilist Horde: By remaining static, Kouhei can animate the corpses littering the forest. For every turn he stays still, five bodies will animate and hunt down each person in the forest (if one person is in, five bodies. If two, five for each person, and so on). The bodies do not trigger the forest attacks, and can only do minor bashing or superficial cutting damage. These bodies are not fast or sturdy, and rarely armed with very small blades. While animate, a whispering can be heard. Common phrases include: “Join ussssss” – “Let us help you” – “It would be so easy” – “You need to rest” – “Let go.” – “Why continue to fight?” – “The end is coming” These phrases have no power to compel others, beyond the obvious disheartening effect of corpses trying to persuade you to join them.

Both of those characters are amazing. I really like the mutant. Bleach is also kick a**, but after about 300 episodes, I kinda got lost. Haha, Great series though! I think I'd have to watch it again, however, to be able to create a character worthy of what you have created.
Mutants, I can do. Well, at least I hope. Give me a bit to think of a character, and then any sort of constructive critisism would be much appreciated, just in case I either don't create a dynamic enough character, or it's overly dynamic.

I fear you give me far too much credit. Kouhei was the third or fourth incarnation of that character, and can be simplified down to "brilliant antisocial asshat." As for Wraith, he is Magneto, but with shadows instead of magnetism. As daunting as the profiles may be, the core of the characters are relatively simple. Additionally, bear in mind that the history for Kouhei was largely played in-game. He was continuously run for about 18 months or so in a guild before . . . drama . . . reared it's head. Long story. Suffice it to say that he was fun to play and will likely be brought back later.
Bleach . . . I watched up until the end of the Hueco Mundo arc, then a fair amount of the bit where Muramasa gave the blades independent existences. The incessant filler made me stop watching that, though. What I played in was Original Characters only. No Yamamoto, Ichigo, or any of the rest. All new peoples. I love the world and the mechanics, not so much the characters. In fact, I find that playing specific characters that are well known can be daunting and difficult to enjoy. Give me a world and let me play in it unfettered. Don't bother trying to pass yourself off as the main character from the show. Just doesn't end well.

Another character I made for a RP in here that I love the idea of was a dreamwalker. She existed in dreams, and was real there. The catch being she was in a coma- car accident. She had been in the dream so long, her identity was lost. Dressed in indigo armor that was androgenous enough to question the gender of the wearer, the character also only wore a mirrored mask. When speaking, she used the voices of any/all reflected there. Mute without a person in the mirror.
I'm on the same boat with you -- I haven't RP'd for a long time, and my specialization is almost zero. However my current interest is towards fantasy and supernatural; especially towards the weirder side of fantasy where magic coincide with technology. One of the RP Guild I'm hoping to join is where magic is dominant in the world and mages/explorers fight monsters like they do in Monster Hunter (I think) -- I interested the captain of that guild with my sample RP of a character who utilized machinery rather than magic.

Mechs that the mechanical engineer made through his career as an adventurer, Dr. Nicholas Stein can conjure (2 posts) one of three mechs to the battle. When one is destroyed it takes 3 minutes (3 posts) to summon another -- and 30 minutes (30 posts) for the destroyed mech to be repaired automatically. Dr Stein can repair the mechs himself which cuts the repair time (10 posts to repair one). However while repairing the mech, Dr Stein cannot participate in the fight.
Abilities/Powers: (Max 4) Intuitive Genius: As a child, Dr. Stein constantly tinkered and mechanized many machinery in a junkyard. Growing up, this stemmed Dr Stein to possess intuitive talent for inventing mechanical devices. His ability functions as perception, as he possesses the ability to visually perceive "mechanical energy" -- the kinetic energy and potential energy present in the components of mechanical systems -- in action. This level of intellect allows Dr. Stein to instinctively know and understand the potential and functional operations of any machine or technological device in his visual range, a skill that combined with his natural intelligence allows him to conceive, design and build mechanical devices; and operate, modify and disassemble existing technology or create countermeasures for it.
Intuitive Intelligence: Dr. Stein's intelligence is dramatically enhanced, granting him almost super genius intellect. He is capable of mentally performing highly complex geometric and trigonometric calculations almost instantly, and has a limitless capacity for learning and memorization, demonstrating the ability to fluently learn a language -- the fastest he's learned one was a month. I just keep gravitating to Bleach. Not the cannon, but original characters. It keeps calling me back. Between the swordplay, the sorcery (kido), and the mythos, it just speaks to me.
I'm so, so sorry guys, I have been stupid busy at work. The spa I work at is going through some major changes, and it's eating all my time up. gonk
I'm still thinking of a character though, and I am really gravitating toward the mutant ideas. However, I have a question, if we did start characters using that general plot line for the mutants (the poison idea), would you just want to join that roleplay, or have our own but in the same universe?

I can do either. for me, the character is paramount. The setting is malleable, so wherever you want. We can go more traditional such as in the X-Men universe, or the one that he was put into (that died) with a unique storyline. I'd play it here as a 1x1, or a group RP, whatever is preferred.
