It was bound to happen eventually.
With rumors of great beasts roaming the shores of Yael, many mainlanders flocked across the sea to capture the exotic beasts. In no time at all, they returned with large scaled monsters, dangerously translucent serpents, and turtles that carried the earth. These traders traveled across the Mainland to parade the beasts, going from Matori to Zena and everywhere between. Soon enough, everyone had either seen the Yaeli beasts or at least heard of them.
And they were sure to hear about the beasts when they escaped.
With such little knowledge of the foreign creatures, the traders underestimated the animals. In no time at all, the Yaeli beasts escaped into the wilderness and ended up near your location. With new creatures all but knocking on your door, what do you do? Do you dare to try and tame them, or do you run them off back into the wilderness? You better hurry, because these creatures are lost and scared, and are sure to cause some damage before they are captured once more....
|| The Yaeli familiars have been spotted in the following locations: Tintural (Oba and Matori), Keldari (Jauhar/Chibale and Tale), Limbara (Sauti and Zena). Only individuals in set locations can encounter the specific familiars.
|| If you are located in Yael, respond to this prompt as if you witnessing a mainlander abducting one of the newly announced familiars. Do you step in or run away? Use the same rolls below, but instead of subduing the beast, you are rolling to test your success for freeing it.
This prompt will be resolved by each player rolling 1D100 to test their success. (You can only roll once - there are no reattempts!)

As she moved through Jauhar and into Oba Nadiya had heard the rumors of strange creatures from Yael. Figures, all this time I was in Matori and never a peep....but now they're popping up everywhere. She smiled faintly as she moved forward. The city was close, that much she could tell, but the girl was enjoying the feeling of sands beneath her feet. This was much more like home...still a tense feeling knotted her stomach. This was the country that her mother had suffered in for so long. Was she truly ready to explore here?
Maybe I'll just cut up towards Tale next. At her decision the girl nodded before a shuffling noise in the sand caught her attention. Was that...a mini oasis moving before her? "What in the?" Frowning Nadiya moved forward and almost shrieked as a mouth snapped towards her.
This was the strangest Bushi she had ever seen!

"Man, fieldwork is really tough..." Eresin carefully clipped another herb to gather for his parent's stall. After treating Talisia's wounds, their stock of healing salves ran relatively low. Strangely enough it seemed to be a popular item as of late. Rumor had it that many people were being injured in trying to capture escaped Tinturals. I didn't think people could be injured from a slow moving beast, of all the things...
Eresin wiped the sweat from his brow. The heat was quite unforgiving today, even if he was near an oasis. He felt like jumping in the water would have been the best option in these temperatures, but he didn't want to be caught unaware by any creatures or even worse, people. But dipping my feet in can't hurt, right? He removed his shoes and dipped his feet in to relax for a bit, watching the surface of the little water pool ripple.

Nadiya had spent several minutes dancing around the creatures. Truly the thing was not her Bushi from home, "You're much more angry than they are." Bouncing on her heel the girl looked across the sands. There seemed to be an oasis in the distance... Perhaps if she made a jump for it...
Bracing herself Nadiya prepared to leap forward when she suddenly felt that her satchel was being tugged. Falling backwards the girl let out a loud shout, "Eeep!" The next thing she knew she had tumbled backwards and was facing more than one of those Bushi impersonators now.

Startled by the distant "eeep!" sound in the distance, Eresin almost fell in the oasis pool. He caught himself, gripping the soft grass and turned around. Quickly, he put his shoes back on and braced for whatever was coming. He looked around and saw through the oasis trees a Matori girl about to be surrounded by a bunch of Tinturals. They looked quite angry too. Uh oh, looks like trouble... Should I help...? Eresin knew one thing for certain, if he didn't help her, She would certainly need the herbs for the healing salves his family made, if not more! He ran through the oasis trees and trekked some of the sand to jump in between the girl and the Tinturals. He glared at the beasts, trying to get them to back down as he shuffled himself and the girl backwards slowly. Just then one of the Tinturals charged at them at a slow pace, but with intent to harm them.

"Gah!" Pulling with all her strength Nadiya managed to free her belongings. The next thing she knew an ice boy was clutching at her, "H-hey!" She almost wanted to free herself but seeing the tintural snapping at her only resulted in pushing back into the stranger, "So uh these guys belong to you?"

"Erm, uh... No they're not mine... I take it they aren't yours either." He stumbled on his words as she pressed up against him. I've never been a hero before... Eresin thought he had to stop them somehow, and intimidating them wasn't exactly working. Eresin looked at the Matori girl and said "I'll distract them and you run for cover." He ran towards the charging Tintural and pulled a reversal move. He found himself on the side of the beast and he lept on its back, standing on its shell while it ran. I hope this works!

"You guessed right." Nadiya frowned as the Tinturals came towards them. These strange creatures...were they the ones she had heard about? She was glad that they had gotten away from traders but if only they had found freedom further away from her. As the boy moved,Nadiya blinked. "What?" Oh he was crazy! A part of her was delighted at this though. She just hoped he survived so that the story's ending could be happy. "Be careful!" She couldn't help laughing. He just seemed so silly. "Grab the plants! Maybe they can help~" The little moving oasises were all over the sands. Where could she find cover? "I'll run this way and you circle around to me!" The last thing she wanted was to leave him alone with those snapping guys. Darting forward she attempted to run to the real oasis. Thankfully the horde of Tinturals were slow despite their anger.

Eresin smiled a bit when the girl laughed. I guess this is a bit of a crazy situation isn't it? He grasped at the little plants on the Tintural shells to try and steer it towards the oasis. Maybe they're thirsty? He certainly hoped so. Just then, the beast reared up and as it came back down, Eresin was airborne and landed on his stomach on the Tintural's shell with an "Oof!" He looked towards the girl and shouted "Uh, I no longer have control of the situation!"

"Oh really?" Nadiya smirked as the stranger went up into the air. This one was definitely some special sort of hero. Still she appreciated his effort. If they couldn't subdue the beasts then could they at least direct them? She had noticed his attempt to direct the Tinturals towards the oasis after all. There were some reeds near the edge of the oasis. Grabbing a few the petite girl ran her way back towards the boy. "Can you slip off? I'll distract it with this so you don't get bitten." She felt like she was dancing some strange dance as she waved the reeds before the Tinturals. The last thing she needed was to lose a finger! "I'm going to try to get them towards the oasis." Sure they couldn't do anything with them but at least Nadiya would feel better knowing the creatures were in a safe place.

Eresin took a moment to realize how absolutely ridiculous they must look. He chuckled and said "Yeah, those were my thoughts exactly." He pushed with his hands and slid off the beasts back and landed on his butt. Swiftly, he rolled backwards onto his feet and grabbed one of the reeds from the edge of the oasis. He rejoined with the girl in an effort to lead them to the oasis. He noticed she kind of seemed to have a plan and followed her lead. "Alright, how do we do this without injury?" He chuckled looking back at his own antics. Well at least we are both okay...

Sin of Qurupeco Don't mind the rolling, posted on my phone so accidentally hit the dice. XD "Well let's see what we can do then." If they could at least lead a few of the Tinturals towards the oasis then perhaps the others would get the idea. Nadiya frowned thoughtfully. She could just hope that the creatures were keen enough. They definitely were still angry enough. Nadiya squeaked as one of the beasts snapped forward towards the reed in her hands. Alright can't get distracted then if I want to keep my hands. At the strangers question she laughed, "Very carefully? They aren't the fastest lot so let's just dance in front of them with these reeds. They're probably still angry and confused so hopefully they'll try to snap the reed. Hope you have quick hands!" With that she began to move forward with a Tinturals snapping after her.

She probably wasn't being literal, but hey, gotta make the best out of the situation, right? Eresin couldn't help but be goofy every bit as he was nervous. He did a hip wiggle as he followed her, not really caring at the moment if she saw him or not. "Well I'm not the best dancer so bare with me." Eresin waved the reed as they made slow progress towards the edge of the oasis. The Tintural in front of him snapped at the reed, barely missing it. Left, right, left, right, he swung it. Luckily they aren't quick to catch on either.

Oh was he? Nadiya had to hold back a laugh at the dancing. "I suppose if that's how you wanna do it then sure." She hopped a few playful steps as well around the Tinturals as well. It was a slow process but they finally made it to the outskirts of the oasis. Only one Tinturals had followed and at the sight of water had veered away. Still Nadiya was relieved. "Looks like we live to fight another day." She teased before jumping away from the Tinturals, "Nadiya by the way. It's nice to meet ya." She laughed lightly, "I'm going to toss these reeds now and run away from these guys. If you're heading towards the city feel free to race with me." She winked playfully, "Unless you prefer playing this snapping game."

"Eresin." He said as he gestured to himself. "A pleasure to meet you..." He collected enough herbs for a few batches of poultices today, so he nodded at the girl and smiled. "Alright you're on! Last one there buys the other a drink." He readied himself to race the girl back to Oba. "Ready? Go!" He shouted as he sprung forward, running towards the town.
