Eurydike had no business patrolling tonight. He couldn't remember the last time he'd eaten anything... but bourbon. He'd had more bourbon, although he couldn't fathom how much. He was 'patrolling', whether or not he was doing any good job of it.

He half-hoped the negaverse would find him.

He half-hoped it would be Cerussite.

He really didn't want Cerussite to find him.

But he did.

Didn't he?

His knees buckled, and he found himself doubled over in a alleyway, eyes watering as his stomach rejected what alcohol he'd already taken in, burning the whole way back up.

She'd sensed the order signature, and of course went to investigate. It was more powerful than hers, which was another perk of interest, but as she drew closer to the figure from the roof top, dropping down to ground level by means of a fire escape, well. She recognized that skirt anywhere. Sedna grinned widely, but as she dropped closer and closer, her grin faltered.

Why was Eurydike hunched over like that?

The senshi dropped the extra bit of the way to get to the ground faster, landing a bit hard as it jolted her knees, but paid it no mind. "Eurydike?" She called out, standing to move over to the senshi before kneeling beside him, a hand reaching out to rest on his shoulder

"Are you okay?" It became apparently what he was doing though as the smell reached her, and her nose scrunched up intensely. Okay. It was something out of a movie. That smell. He reeked of alcohol and vomit. It was something else.

He hadn't been paying any attention - alcohol had dulled his senses, the sickness had just about drowned out any semblance of them he had left, and even if it hadn't been for that - he honestly just wasn't even trying. He was left sputtering and choking when he was done, his eyes, already red and rimmed too dark beneath from lack of sleep, watered.

At first it was like he didn't even hear her.

Then, when she put a hand on him, he suddenly whirled on her almost violently, his eyes wide, bloodshot, and downright wild for all of a few seconds before it registered on him who it was.

His gaze dropped in an instant, a flood of red seeping into his cheeks as he tried to shrug off her hand, wobbling as he pushed himself to his feet. "Fine. M'fine." His voice was monotone, but dry, hollow.

She started for a moment, her eyes going wide at the reaction. Wow. Wow he...looked like crap. She felt bad for thinking that, but it was what had first come to mind. Not to mention the sudden jerk...

Sedna shot to her feet, and she couldn't help but snort, loudly. It wasn't that she found this funny, because she most certainly didn't. "Um, it's so obvious you're not." She replied, and a hand came out to place itself on his elbow to help keep him steady. "Eurydike, you shouldn't be out right now. Not like---well---this." Actually, instead of dusting youma and trying to stop agents, her mission for tonight had suddenly shifted to making sure he got home okay. It'd be terrible to leave him like this, and she just wouldn't have it.

"Um---hey, let me get you home, alright? Where's home?" She paused for a moment. "Also, what happened?"

He'd felt numb since he'd watched Cerussite - Tolliver - walk away from him. Only numb, it wasn't even the right word. He ached. Everything hurt. But it also felt so far away, so - like the world had gone dark and dull, like nothing even really mattered anymore (it didn't nothing did it never had) - that was all he'd felt since his world had fallen apart.

It was just now he felt something more, something that made his gut twist and made him feel sick all over again; he'd wanted the negaverse to find him, yeah. But he hadn't wanted Sedna to be the one to do it.

Shame. Bright and hot and licking across him like fresh waves of flames, especially when she took his arm to steady him. She had respected him. Laughed with him. Been the closest thing to a normal friend he'd had in this whole senshi bullshit mess.

There was only one way he knew how to handle shame. He jerked his elbow back out of her grasp, stumbling. "Don't touch me, " he snapped, his cheeks burning that much hotter for it. "Said m'fine. Back the ******** off Sedna."

Home. He gave a bitter laugh, his gaze falling to the ground beneath his sandaled feet again. "There is no ********' home anymore, " he hissed under his breath, and longed for another bottle. No matter how many he had though, the thinking, the numbness, the ache - none of it stopped.

Yes, she was surprised and shocked at the intensity of his reaction now. Well, Eurydike---Hitch---had always been intense, but it was with a warmth, even if he hadn't realized it, but now...Sedna had started again, not at all used to being in this sort of position, but she was Sedna---Olga---so backing off, no matter the situation when it came to a friend, was never an option.

She reached out for him again, taking his elbow once more. "Um---no---I won't be effing off, sorry, but not sorry, Eury---" She paused once more. "How come?" Her brows knitted. "Hey---um---" She had no idea what his situation was, but as of right now, it was safe to assume it was something bad...and maybe someone involving his boyfriend? Maybe that was a reason to not go home? If that was the case...

"Hey---you can come crash at my place if you need to! At least---at least come take a nice hot shower, yeah? I'll even feed you!" She teased, but meant it, and smiled at him.

Eurydike didn't immediately shake her off this time, although he fixed her with shameless glare, his teeth grinding together -

Then she offered that, and a range of emotions flashed across his face, too vibrant and too raw. First, surprise - his eyes widening, his lips parting with it - then, shame - looking down, his cheeks still so achingly hot - then, what followed the easiest was still -

His brows knitted together, and he stepped backwards with a sound that could only be described as a growl. The senshi was hunched slightly, unsteady still on his feet, although he looked more like a cornered animal than anything else. "I do not ********' need - " he hissed out, " - you or your goddamn ********' handouts Sedna! What part of '******** off' are you not gettin', huh!?"

He felt like s**t. Even as he said it, he felt like s**t for it.

Sedna's hands shot up reflexively as he pulled away again and hissed at her. It wasn't a gesture of submission but more so as a sign of 'it's not that at all'. She grimaced. She seriously wondered why society placed such a stigma on accepting someone who just wanted to help out as weak. "Hitch---it's not like that at all!" She lowered her hands to implore him.

"I just want to make sure you're okay! I'm not looking to offer you 'hand outs'---I just want to help you out because we're friends and I care about you!"

"Friends - " He laughed. It was an aching kind of laugh. "How the ******** are we friends?" Eurydike was shaking as he said it; it wasn't what he meant. It wasn't what he wanted to say at all. But the words were just pouring out of him, fueled by his own misery. "You barely even ********' know me! You just ********' - " He flung his hands up in the air. "- decided!"

The super senshi ran his hands over his face roughly. The world felt like it was spinning whenever he shut his eyes. "You don't know where the ******** I come from, you don't know where I've been, you don't know - nobody ********' knows!" He flung his hands in the air and let them drop heavily at his sides, curled into fists. "Nobody gives a flyin' ********, so don't start ********' pretendin' you do!!"

It was like it'd been in the beginning -

He didn't matter. He just didn't. Or no, no, it was worse - he only made the lives he touched worse. Not better. If he'd never met Tolliver, then -

"He's the only one. He's the only one that ********' knew." For a moment, all the anger drained completely out of his voice... and rather than angry, he just sounded sad, the kind that seeped into bones and lingered there like a chill. "An' now... "

Sedna cringed, but opened her mouth to reply, paused, and then shut it. Her shoulders were a bit hunched as more came out, and her lips twisted. Yeah...it kinda stung, to an extent, and maybe he was kind of right, well, about her deciding they were friends, but she could shove that sting aside because it was just so obvious he was in pain. She wanted to try to help.

"It doesn't matter---where you come from, and where you've been---just that we're here now, Eurydike...! I don't ever pretend---I don't. So if I don't know---then tell me." She stopped hunching as he appeared to deflate, and shook her hands as if it would relieve this tense situation. Well...if she had any questions before (well, she did, and she still had them now) about boyfriend issues, this seemed to seal it. "Hey..." She reached out once more, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Come on. Let's go to my place, yeah? I promise I won't feed you pop-tarts---" She shot him another smile, despite the situation, her brows a bit knitted.

After all, trying to question him now---in a dark alleyway---yeah, not a great idea. Not to mention she had a feeling they'd be in serious trouble if a youma or an agent decided to pop in on them right now.

Eurydike stared at her intently for a long, long moment, and his gaze was unreadable - or maybe just clouded - as intense shame grappled with a terrible, terrible want not to be alone anymore. He bit down hard on his piercing, slowly crossing his arms. - no, less crossing them, more wrapping them around himself and trying to make the gesture seem less vulnerable than it was.

He looked small - he felt small.

He wanted to go.

He just couldn't.

"I gotta go." The super senshi whirled abruptly, his head bowed, and began quickly walking away.

Sedna felt like she was on a break through and that maybe he'd come along with her back to her apartment---

Except not.

"Buh---!?" Her expression shifted into surprise, and she leaned forward a bit before catching herself and immediately taking after him. Though he walked fast, her legs were longer, and she caught him in a few easy strides. More importantly, she cut him off, whirling to stand in front of him, her hands up once more as if to form a barrier to stop him from going further. "Come on, Eurydike---please?"

Eurydike skittered back a step or two, and between the alcohol and the slippery snow, he nearly fell straight on his a**. The slightly wild look was in his eyes again, alongside desperation, as he shook his head - he was trying to fall back into anger, but it was a mask that didn't quite fit right now. "I said I have to go, " he hissed quietly, whirling and making a break for another direction.

He hadn't even wanted her to see him like this. He couldn't -- he wouldn't --

Sedna grimaced, and then steeled her resolve.

She darted after him again, but this time she grabbed onto his wrist firmly, and held him there. "Well---like our friendship---you don't get a choice in the matter. I'm not leaving you out here. Come on, Eurydike..."

That was the thing with animals when they were cornered - no matter how scared, hurt, or confused they were - they lashed out.

A sudden, startled snarl escaped him, already wild eyes growing wider still, enough to see whites at the edges. Her words were gentle, but all he could feel were hands holding him firmly, holding him still - he kicked out, pulling, fists swinging blindly in the air as he desperately fought for purchase, as though he were fighting for his life instead of in the arms of a friend.
