Makani had decided that hanging out away from the inn, back at the river once more, with the two pets that he had. Rae was on one side of him, tail wagging like mad, tongue lolling out, while the other beast, Coil, was crawling all over him. The sailscale hadn't left him alone since the run in that they'd had a couple days back. His sister had been less then pleased when she found out that her brother had the sailscale with him and he knew that there was no way to get himself out of the situation. It wasn't as though she would buy that Makani needed a second pet to help him to get around more easily, especially since he had his magic to do that. Instead Coil was just a pet that Makani had ended up with somehow. Even now he was trying to figure it out, why the sailscale wouldn't leave him alone. It wasn't as though he'd been nice to the beast after all.
"We should all be on our best behavior and hope that Eira will come to accept Coil." Makani said to the pair of beasts, reaching his hand out to pet Rae on her soft, fluffy head, giving her a gentle sort of smile. The raptrix was a good girl, a sweet one, and the sort he wanted nothing more then to cuddle on. She was often times at his side, as she had been since she was a pup, wanting to help him out wherever she could. Even if it was so simple a task as walking with him or something more complicated by fetching things for him, she was the best and most fluffy friend anyone could ask for.
The raptrix suddenly gave an excited sort of bark before suddenly turning her head to one side, tail wagging wildly. It was something that caused Makani to turn his head in that direction, listening carefully, and let his magic flow forward. He could heard something running their way... but what was it? It felt somewhat familiar, though different... what was it... Oh! Capramel! It was moving in the same manner that Gyuri's pet did, only it wasn't alone, it seemed to be at least... three of them? Somewhere behind them, Makani couldn't say exactly how far, there was a voice calling out to Makani, begging him to 'stop the rampaging herd' which made him wonder what was going on. The capramel were charging, but why? Had something startled them, perhaps?
Making a couple motions with his hands, magical power gathering in them, he called up some earthen walls from the ground in front of where he thought the capramel were. It caused them to slow down, making it a bit easier for him to track them with his magical senses. Once he knew better were they were Makani made a few more motions, dragging more and more earth up, dragging it around them, catching them in an earthen fence. Well, a pair of them at least as the third one was able to make its escape as he captured the first two.
The one that was chasing the creatures gave him a appreciative smack on the back as he passed by, "Good job, man! Keep an eye on them for me? I'm gonna go get the other one!" He said, continuing the chase, "I'll be back in a bit!"
Makani stood there a moment, Coil giving a great hiss, before he lifted a hand to pet the sailscale, "Well... here's to hoping that he comes back. I don't think I will be able to explain that to my sister." She was upset enough about the sailscale, he doubted that she was going to allow a pair of capramel to stick around on top of that. Turning to look as Rae he said, "Walk with me around the makeshift pet, Rae? We need to make sure they don't get out until their owner returns." Which would hopefully be sooner then later, before his sister saw them and thought the wrong thing about them.
The raptrix gave an excited 'woof' before moving to walk at his side as Makani walked along around the pen. He was listening to the sounds of the pair of capramel as they shuffled around inside the cage that he'd made for them. They seemed annoyed at first, but they were calming now from the feel of their energy. Good, maybe that meant that they wouldn't cause him any trouble and instead just stay within the pen where they belonged. At least until their owner returned that was.
