Slievenamon let out a miserable sigh. She just didn't have the strength like all of the powered individuals who graced her presence time and time again. So when it came to dusting youma, she was the once coming out looking like a forgotten antique in a thrift store rather than a respectable knight-in-training.
Dusting off the remnants of her recent defeat from her teal jacket, she glanced down to her shell flute and almost felt inclined to pitch the darn thing some fifty feet away from her. It was remarkably useless when it came to defending herself despite its nice pitch when she played a tune on it. The only thing that prevented her from doing so was the guilt that'd come along with chucking she was also quite fond of.
Instead, Slievenamon let out her frustrations with a loud yell that shook the quietness of the park.
"Rrraghhh!"

Hyperborea had felt the auras of a youma and a page in the park so she began quickly making her way to the pair to see if the page needed help. However as she was rushing towards the two she felt the youma disappear.
Then she heard a frustrated yell from the apparent page. "Everything alright page?" She asked the teal page who looked kind of worse for wears.
"Looks like you already dealt with the youma, are you hurt?" She asked looking the page over.
"Oh I'm knight Hyperborea of Cosmos by the way."

Slievenamon turned not at the sound of a voice, but the pure energy signature to register in her mind when she recognized it. She then realized she was staring on at another knight and the frustrations she felt seemed to ebb away like the tide. She shook her head at the slightly younger girl and tightened a grip on her shell flute.
"No, I'm fine, it didn't get me," she said with a small smile at Hyperborea's concern. "I managed to dust it before it got a chomp down on me. Thanks for your concern, though. I'm Slievenamon, page of Neptune. It's nice to meet a Cosmos knight!" Her eyes seemed to sparkle at the very fact the girl was a knight than anything else. "Sorry if my sudden outburst took you away from your patrolling or anything. It wasn't my intention."

"That's good. It's a pleasure to meet you Slievenamon of Neptune, I don't believe I've meet one of your order either." She said offering the girl a friendly smile.
"Oh its no problem I consider checking in on pages as much a part of my patrol as slaying Youma or fighting off Chaos Agents. So I was already headed your way when I heard your shout."She assured the Neptune page.
Her curiosity got the better of her. "So what is then that had you out of sorts, if you don't mind me asking?" She asked, wondering if it might be something she could help with.

Slievenamon averted her glance in slight embarrassment and ran a thumb across the top of her knuckles. "Well, y'see..." she said, not sure how to go about admitting her frustrations. "I'm just a page, so defending myself against youma and the like without any magic is, err, it's difficult. But there is also much to learn and while I know it's stupid to jump into observing things, I get into tussles when I am not looking for one and just keep putting my life on the line. I want to learn how to fight, but I don't know where to start."

Hyperborea couldn't help the grin that formed on her face, this was definitely something she could help with. "Is that what's wrong, I can help you with that. I'm a pretty experienced fighter myself so I could teach you a few things."
"Here why don't you show how you fight first, come attack me." She said cheerfully.

Slievenamon hesitated. Twirling index fingers around each other, the girl tried to follow the conversation from memory to figure out what prompted such a thought.
"You... just want me... to attack you?" she said, trying to find the rationality there. She had done nothing to provoke the girl, why? She understood just being shown the ropes, but... Attack her? Her mind put up a thousand and one protests.
"I couldn't do that, I mean, c'mon... You seem nice, but like..." She let out a deep sigh. True, Slievenamon was new to the whole knighthood thing, but maybe this was just another part of it? This was just too confusing.
"Well, if you insist," the page said, holding the sharpened end of her seashell flute out like a dagger. Kicking off from the ground, she started to run at the girl. "Here I come!"

Hyperborea nodded as the other girl charged her. She knew she was in no danger her superior strength and speed made the girl no threat to her. She nimbly pivoted out of the way of the attack and in one fluid motion got behind the girl giving her a gentle shove forward.
"Ok that's good. I think I see your fighting style." She said looking the girl over. "I'm sorry if that seemed like a strange request but I needed to see what sort of openings you leave when you attack, and what your strengths in fighting are."
"First and foremost you need to stay a bit more to the ground, you don't have a good center of balance like that, which means I could trip you up or even throw you off your feet pretty easily."
"Tell me what are you thinking when you attack, what goes through your mind? It is really helpful in a fight if you visualize not where your opponent is but where they could be, what they could do." She tried to explain. "Does that make sense?"

"Uwah... Wahwahwah!"
As if by the grace of irony, Hyperborea's words and light shove seemed to cause the page to stumble. Flapping her arms like a frightened duck, she face-planted elegantly, and only could only manage a small huff. Their difference in power levels were a little frustrating to the redhead, but Slievenamon tried to put it behind her for now.
"It's okay, really. You're doing me a favor as it is by giving me a few pointers," Slievenamon said, getting back on her feet. "Right, I'll remember that." She nodded to Hype, but then drew her lips to a small O next. "What I'm thinking...? Err, I guess that I want the battle to be over with so I could go back to learning about stuff... I guess that's not the best train of thought to rush into battle with, but I'd really rather not fight."

"There are definitely worse motivations to have in a fight, but you should be careful not to let it cloud your mind. Sadly we don't get much choice in fighting, for the most part if you are powered up then you are a target." She said feeling a tad bit bad for accidentally knocking the girl over, it hadn't been her intention but then again their enemies would do far worse.
"Still try to keep that attitude, you should never escalate a fight unless you have to to protect yourself or others. For as many evil and murderous chaos agents as there are, there are just as many forced into Metalia's service unwillingly. It is far better to talk a Negaverse agent down, and maybe even convince them to purify than it is." She paused for a moment. "Do you know what purification is yet, or anything about our enemies? Or is what I'm saying completely new to you?" She asked, if she didn't know about this stuff then Hyperborea considered it just as important to teach her it as to teach her fighting.
"Please stop me if you have questions. In the mean time though I'm going to show you some take downs I use, step by step, and then I want you to practice them on me." She said before walking over to her and taking a hold of her lapel and her sleeve to preform the first move. "Are you ready?" She asked waiting to make sure the girl was prepared to be knocked down. She then kicked the girl's right foot out from under her sending her to the floor while also changing her grip from the lapel to her wrist. She went slowly and explained each step in the advancing foot sweep. She made sure to control the take down so that she wouldn't get hurt.

Slievenamon nodded her head to every word the knight said; be sure to take careful of what would be right and what wrong in the face of danger. Unfortunately, old habits would be hard to retrain, but the page would put the effort to do it no matter how much work would need to be done. Come the question of purification, the page solemnly shook her head.
"This is my first time hearing about it," she said, though her interest was quite piqued. "But from the name alone, I'm guessing... It is a way to save those corrupted by Chaos?" She tilted her head and glanced her eyes to a rock at her heel. "I was under the predilection that'd be impossible to do, but if it can be done, you're right—it is something that should be pushed for. Always." Slievenamon found herself thankful, then and there, to have come upon someone so experienced with the workings of this new world to her. She was getting more out of talking to Hyperborea than she was blindly stretching out arms for answers.
"Then the Negaverse, what do they become after purification?" She seemed to be unaware of the hand on her label, but when she was conscious of it, she dipped her chin in affirmation to say that she was ready. That didn't stop her curiosity getting the better of her then even when her weight was kicked out from beneath her and her wrist was grabbed. She listened intently to Hyperborea's instructions with a held concentration, but one could tell there was more to her thinking than just the demonstration. The knight was still stuck on purification and internally grimacing she didn't have her memo pad on hand to jot these things down. "Have you had experience with Chaos? I mean, not just fighting agents of it, but actually felt it?" Realizing that her interests may have sounded a little off, she quickly added, "N-no, I don't have any intentions of changing sides, but... There has to be something about Chaos that draws people to it, yes? What... exactly... is it?"

Hyperborea stopped and helped the page up. "It sounds like you have a lot on your mind, I think maybe I can help you more by just explaining what I know than teaching you moves right now. Lets take a seat." She said indicating to a nearby bench.
After they had taken a seat she began. "Its not something just anyone can do, its a power only a select few have, Royals. They are Knights and Senshi who are a step above what I am in terms of power level. I personally know of four active Royals: there is Princess Ganymede, Princess Polaris, Prince Castor, and Royal Knight Camelot. If a Negaverse agent is willing then one of them can use a special crystal, or in Camelot's case a crystal sword, to burn away the corruption on their starseeds...Has anyone explained starseeds to you yet?" She asked.
"Well for corrupted senshi they just become uncorrupted senshi, there isn't much difference other than they loose the cracks on their foreheads and chests. Officers become knights like us, that's what they all were originally. A thousand years ago some witch named Beryl dragged the knight academy of Earth into an abyss known as the Rift and created the first officers and youma."She explained
The next question made her uncomfortable and she visibly squirmed wondering if she should be honest, before finally giving her answer. "If I'm being honest yes, well sort of. I once had a vision of a terrible future in which I had corrupted into a General. Mind you its a future that will never come thanks to these." She said holding up her arm and tracing the glowing rainbow colored lines on it with her finger. "I'm transcended which means my wonder now protects me from the corruption of chaos."
She sighed. "There's no easy answer to that. For alot of the people recruited off the street they lie to them and tell them we are aliens trying to take over Earth, they lie and tell them that the Negaverse is good and is only looking to defend Earth. For people corrupted who were senshi or knights, I know corruptions and purification erase memories though I don't know the extent or if it is the same for everyone. But they use this to brain wash alot of people into thinking they were saved from order. Other people they simply threaten or threaten their families and friends. And others simply like the feeling of being stronger than others, of hurting those weaker than them. L'appel du vide, the call of the void. For some it is irresistible, those are the most dangerous agents." She tried to answer the question as best she could.
"Well I'm no expert chaos, I'm not sure anyone in order is, but how I understand it is chaos is basically like a black hole it absorbs and destroys everything it can to get stronger. While we are like suns; burning brightly, generating our own energy, and in some cases sharing it with those who need some." She emphasized her last point by placing her hand on the girls shoulder and willing her energy to flow into her.

Slievenamon sat beside the knight and listened intently. "I see... No, I don't know about starseeds yet. But they do sound important." She touched a hand to her chest as if she unconsciously knew already, though. "But to be gifted with that kind of power must be a blessing. They're certainly people we should protect. Especially if... Especially if those agents of the Negaverse are us." Her heart went out to them—both those corrupted knights and senshi.
Slievenamon settled her hand on her lap when she realized her questioning seemed more like prying. She hadn't meant to make her fellow knight uncomfortable; she thought she was just dipping her toe in, but in actuality, she was taking the plunge here. The information flow was grand, but she hadn't wanted to make Hyperborea recall things she didn't need or want to.
Her mind seemed to quell of her concern when the transcendent held up her arm. The page did begin to ponder again of this terrible future, though, and who the Slievenamon of that period was as well. She had to catch herself before she was absorbed by her thinking again.
"Thank goodness for that," she said. "Now that future, whatever it was, has no way of happening to you. But those memories, how odd... I wonder why did you receive them?" She slid that thought aside for now and glanced down to her gloved hands. "I see. The Negaverse does seem like the type to viciously and cowardly threaten a person or their family just to... to brainwash them with lies."
The ilk of it seemed to turn her stomach, but it was soothed away by Hyperborea's touch on her shoulder. Slievenamon went quiet for a moment as she enjoyed the warmth of the shared energy. She didn't know how anyone could willingly turn something so lovely away. There was strength in Order; something resolute and whole. Yet, even when she believed this with all her might, her desire to learn clawed from the depths of her mind. The page wanted to know more about them. Yes, being a knight had its fair share of knowledge, but those of Chaos was shrouded in a thick fog of mystery.
What if... they just want to exist as we do? Just... simply to exist because Chaos gives them meaning. I think I could understand them, just a bit, if that is the case.
When she opened her eyes again, she looked to Hyperborea and smiled. "Thank you for telling me all of this," she said to her. "You've given me a lot to think about, but also answered a great number of things I also wanted to know. I am eternally grateful."

Unoderi I think we can start wrapping this if that's ok with you biggrin "Hmm, I've had them explained to me like this; think of your starseed as the literal metaphor for your soul. You can't see it, you can't touch it but inside your chest is a glowing crystal with a brilliant light inside it. Everyone has one, but powered people have special starseeds called true starseed, its why we can remember bits of our past life or why our ancestors can hang onto the wonders." She was really just speculating on the last part but it seemed like it made sense. "The Negaverse can reach into our chests and steal starseeds or pump them full of chaos, unless you transcend in which your wonder protects you from it, so if you see a agent reaching for your chest try to stop them or get away."
Hyperborea could help the giggles that escaped her with the girl's next statement. "I doubt we'd do much more for them, Royals are much more physically and magically gifted than a full fledged knight or eternal senshi. I actually really recommend you try to meet with Camelot, he's very kind and knows far more than me, he can usually be found at the public library."
"However the Negaverse does have an equivalent to our Royals, General Kings and Queens. You will know one if you ever feel their awful auras, they are like fear and evil personified. If you ever feel a giant chaos aura like that please please run Slievenamon." She earnestly implored the girl.
"They are the ones who can force corrupt knights and senshi, unless you're transcended you should never fight one and even then with the strength of being a Royal the odds are good you will die. I don't want to see you clad in black, so please run away from them if you happen across one. And for at least as long as you're a page please promise me you'll run from any general you meet as well." She begged the girl, hoping she was smarter than Hyperborea had been as a page. She didn't know much about the girl but she would hate it if something bad happened to her.
"I'm sorry if I sounded really negative there, I don't mean to make it sound like they are unbeatable but I don't want to see anything happen to you. Also you should take a trip to your wonder soon, there is a treasure waiting for you there." She said holding up her ring hand. "These rings are how we knights communicate, it can be upgraded but the base ring can send written messages to other knights. you just need to write the knights name on some paper and put it in the ring. Once you have it feel free to contact me if you ever need anything, be it training or if you just want to talk or if you need help with a negaverse agent." She said with a smile.

The page's hand drifted to her chest again. "I see," she said, this time the action out of a reflexive fear of the Negaverse pulling her starseed. The very thought of it turned her stomach again.
Cursing herself again for not having her memo pad to jot things down, she said, "Camelot, huh? I'll... I'll be sure to look out for him, then. I would love to speak with him."
"I will do as you say," she said. "I'll... I'll run and never look back." Her words seem to fall on their meaning, though. If an encounter happened, it only meant a learning experience to her.
That's all it seemed to come down to for the redhead.
"It's okay, I understand your concern," Slievenamon said, slightly doleful, but her expression brightened to a small smile next. "I actually have been to my wonder. It is quite a sight and an absolutely lovely place." She removed the glove on her left hand and pointed to the thick ring on her middle ringer. "I recently learned of our rings functions from another knight named Teide, so I am informed. Thank you, though. I'll have to write you a letter in gratitude some time later for taking the time to speak to me."
It had come to a point the page had felt as if she talked her jaw loose. She was reluctant to leave Hyperborea's company, but she had a number of things to dwell on and draw her own conclusions from. After the transcendent's informational explanations, the redhead stood, and dipped her chin at her.
"I don't mean to cut our time together short, but it's getting late and I... I really should head back home. It was lovely and educational talking to you, Hyperborea. I'll send correspondence soon and I hope we can meet again to talk like this."
With that, Slievenamon flashed her another smile again and took off into the night; her head swimming with thoughts of her recent conversation with her fellow knight.
