Kathryn had been running on time until there had been a delay with the bus. For once it was not her fault that she was nearly late. Picking at a loose thread on her shirt Kathryn slid the envelope out of her bag as she approached the museum. She had just a few misgivings about attending another blind date/mixer event but surely her luck could not be that bad that things would be awkward between her paired match and herself.

Shrugging out of her coat Kat entered the museum and scanned the beverage table before handing her coat over to the check in before rushing up to the third floor. At least her outfit wasn't a hindrance. Kathryn rounded the corner to where she was supposed to meet her "date" for the evening and chuckled softly. Indeed she was the last to arrive. Spotting the exhibit title once more Kat grinned. She loved stars. However it was time to introduce herself, "Jade?"

Kathryn was glad that Jade had restrained from hugging her. She gave the other woman a smile and clasped her hand between both of hers. It was a definitely a strange way to shake another person's hand but Kathryn didn't want Jade to assume she wasn't comfortable in her presence. So far this "date" was a lot different from the one she had gone on before. "You assume correctly. I am indeed Kathryn," she paused. "It would be really awkward if I were not."

Kathryn let her hands fall to her side before hearing the compliment that Jade paid towards her outfit. She could feel her cheeks warm at the words. That was an unusual reaction. Still smiling Kathryn took in Jade's appearance. Perhaps her own outfit tended to be a bit on the formal side but it was fine.

"I have not been here that long but I have to agree with you. This exhibit is amazing. I love the stars."

Kathryn reached up and gently touched one of the stars that hung above her head. The night sky had always been a favorite subject of Kat's. "Sorry, I gush."

Kathryn could feel the tenseness she held begin to melt away. Jade so far was nothing like she had been expecting. A warm smile was forming as she glanced back to the stars above them. She wasn't sure if the museum encouraged individuals touching the dangling stars but Kat couldn't help herself. She reached up once more and hit a few of the dangling objects causing them to sway back and forth. The disturbed stars threw off small flashes of prismatic light as they swung around before slowing down and coming to a stop.

As she was experimenting with the stars she was still keeping her attention towards Jade and she nodded to the other woman as she finished talking. "I would have to agree with you on your conclusion."

Once again Jade had complimented her. A warm smile appeared as she chuckled softly. "I love all of nature really but there is something about the night sky that I just love."

Kathryn had finished examining the stars above her to focus more on her "date" for the evening. It wouldn't have been polite to have her attention be elsewhere when the museum had gone to great lengths to make this event be possible. If she were to ignore Jade that would not make a great lasting impression. Lowering her hands from where they'd tangled within the strands Kat nodded in response. It seemed as if she had found a similar person with a great passion for nature. At least that is what she hoped she was reading into Jade's comment.

"I'm not much for geographic locations but even around Destiny City one can find untold treasures in the beauty of the outdoors."

Kathryn's enthusiastic words spoke of her own love for the many nature trails she had explored when she was younger. At Jade's reminder that they still had a full evening ahead she gestured with her arms. "In which direction do you think we should go next?"

There was a twinkle in her eyes as Kathryn left the exhibit that had held her rapt attention for long enough. The woman had never really spent the time in the museum herself being more of a outdoors type of person. She could definitely agree about getting away from the lights and just enjoying the sky above. It had gotten her in trouble a few times though. The meteor shower and that other strange time. Chuckling more to herself Kat once more reached above and made as to cup one of the lowest stars before movement caught her eye and she dropped her hand.

Kathryn glanced at Jade as she moved away from the wall and held out her hand to her. Perhaps it was the company and the atmosphere but Kathryn was feeling more relaxed than she had on that other "blind date" attempt. Closing the distance between herself and Jade Kathryn took the other woman's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Sounds like a plan to me,"

As they departed the stars exhibit Kathryn gave her companion for the evening a searching glance. How would the rest of the evening pan out?

Kathryn actually found herself chuckling aloud at Jade's comment about feeling bad. While it was true that the exhibits in the museum were pulling her attention away from her date it was no reason to feel such a way. Relaxing a little bit more in Jade's presence Kathryn was beginning to truly enjoy herself. She smirked at a passing painting on the wall before speaking what was on her mind. "Don't feel too bad Jade. You've done nothing wrong. I fear I just get too wrapped up in things at times."

There was a pregnant pause as Kathryn scrambled to organize her thoughts on what else she wanted to say and, after a second or two, found herself admitting in a quiet voice, "besides I'm having a really great time with you."

Letting her hair fall forward to cover the flush of embarrassment at her admittance Kathryn waited to see what Jade's reaction would be.

The idea of spending more time in Jade's company was an interesting way to finish off the evening. They had spent quite a bit of time examining the exhibits in the museum and although Kat's attention was divided between Jade and the various rooms and artefacts within them she had remembered Jade admitting that she liked watching. That comment had unsettled Kathryn at first but as the evening wore on the idea of being watched didn't bother her as much. Kathryn would occasionally feel a nervous flutter in her chest but would shake it off.

As the evening wore on Kathryn was beginning to feel an ache in her feet that came from wearing shoes that she was not used to wearing for a long period of time. As Jade tossed out the suggestion of grabbing something to eat Kathryn was thinking it would be a great idea. It took her a few moments to register what else Jade had divulged. That shocked her and she was sure that her expression showed it. Her voice was quiet as she replied, "thank you."

Kat glanced towards Jade before smiling. "I think grabbing something to eat would also be a great idea. My feet are killing me. Shall we head out then?"
