Sitting outside, his eyes ever closed, Makani was listening to the sounds of the river as it flowed by him. It was a rather nice sound, one that was relaxing in his mind. He gave a soft sigh as he heard the burbling of it before he laid back on the ground, arms crossed behind his head. The young man was quite sleepy, having spent the afternoon working on the pool that his sister had requested he make for her stalker of a snaptrotter. She wanted to make sure that he was happy, and it seemed that a beast tamer had told her that the beast needed the pool to make it happy. Among other things, but the pool was what Makani could help with and after a lot of magical work it was now finished, with water flowing in slowly to fill it up. The beast had better be happy.
That thought in mind he shifted slightly, trying to get comfortable, when a strange sound suddenly filled his ears. It was that of a hiss beast known as a sailscale. Turning slightly he allowed his magic to flow forward toward the sound, and he found that it wasn't one but two of the beasts that were nearby. From the feel of it they were coming his way meaning that he was going to have to fend them off. Especially if they were the same sailscales that had once invaded the inn and got his sister all in a huff. Best to keep sailscales outside where they belonged he thought to himself as he pushed up to his feet.
Deciding that he didn't want to waste too much more power on spells he decided that he would instead use his runes. Taking them out of the pouch that hung around his waste he allowed the objects to float in the air over his hand, whirling around in a rapid circle before he flung them forward toward the sailscales. He wasn't trying to hurt them, instead just trying to chase them off, "Alright, scaly monsters, you need to get moving! You're not supposed to be here! My sister will get upset if she thinks you're invading again!" There was a lot of hissing as the runes smacked against the sailscales, causing them to retreat for a time... though one came back again, hissing up a storm.
"Quite stubborn aren't you? I bet you're the one that sister tossed out, huh?" He said, drawing his runes back to floating around him before he sent them flying forward again. There was once more the sound of the runes bouncing off the scales of the sailscale... and once again it kept coming at him. Makani gave a little squeak, taking a couple of quick steps back, "Alright, you hissy brat! You should go back out into the wilds of Sauti! Hanging around the inn is only going to end with you getting tossed by my sister again." He called out to the sailscale, hoping that his repeated warnings would get through the critter's thick head sooner then later.

There was a long moment of silence after a couple more 'attacks' by Makani making him think that maybe the creature had left. Good, he really didn't want to have to tell his sister why he'd allowed a sailscale to get passed him and into the inn. She'd been upset over the idea of wild creatures running amok in there and the last thing he wanted was to be the cause of such a thing. No, he wanted to stay on her good side, especially since she was quite moody now that she was pregnant. Best to keep her happy he thought to himself.
Drawing his runes to him he gathered them up, tucking them into his pouch once more, before he started forward, head tilted. He could hear one of the sailscales, the one that had fled first from the sounds of it, "Good, it seems as though you're finally behav... ack!" Makani gave a sound of surprise as he tripped over something that seemed to suddenly dive in front of him, falling over it, and landed on his front. He blinked a couple times, then turned toward the 'thing' he'd tripped on, only to hear it hissing again. Seemed as though the sailscale wasn't going anywhere, was it?
Sighing a little he lifted a hand, casting a healing spell on the beast, to make sure that if it had gotten bruised up from his runes that it wouldn't remain in pain. It wanted the creature to get lost, not be hurt, and he wasn't going to get the desired results after all. After the healing was done he was left with a sailscale crawling all over him, and he had to figure out what to do with it next...
