Chailee slipped her bag over her shoulder as she glanced around at the other students who were making their way down the hallway to the exit. The school day had finally come to an end and normally she'd be hurrying off to the stables to do some riding, but she had some things to take care of.

First, she needed to find one of her classmates. She'd fallen asleep in her last class and missed all of the notes. She didn't make it a habit to doze in class but it happened from time to time. Another reason she was just average in her classes.

Through the milling people, Chay caught sight of a certain red head. Holding her bag against her body, she worked her way through people, trying to catch up to her. It wasn't until they were outside that Chailee was finally able to break away from the crowd. "Hey!" She hurried over. "Millicent!" She barely knew the girl, but being classmates at least afforded her the other girls name.

"I am sorry to stop you." She said as she drew up to the girls side. "But I, um...I was wondering if I could copy your notes from our last class?" She blushed slightly. "I sort of missed copying them down." Needless to say, Chay probably didn't need to specify -why- she had missed writing down the notes. "I swear I'll be quick. I just uh, I wasn't paying attention and I really need to do well in the class and...Sorry. I am rambling." She laughed lightly.

Millie paused when she heard her name, and her nose wrinkled when it was her full name. Blah. Sometimes she really still wondered what her mother had been thinking when she had named her Millicent. What an old fashioned…old lady name. Finally she turned and saw a girl with pale blue hair that she recognized vaguely from her class. “Oh hey! How are you doing? You need my notes? Oh, yeah sure.”

The teenager glanced around and pointed to one of the picnic tables in the courtyard. “Let’s head over there and you can copy them if you want.” She flashed a smile and shifted her backpack on her back, moving away from the massive throng of students, over to the mostly empty cluster of tables.

“All right. So what class was that? History, right? The notes from today? You weren’t listening to today’s lecture?” The burgundy haired girl gave a laugh. “I mean, I get it…I really do. Don’t be alarmed if most of my notes are dumb doodles though, my mind wanders in that class all the time. Honestly if the teacher didn’t talk like he was bored out of his mind, maybe it would be a different story. History has the potential to be awesome you know?”

She drew her history notebook from her backpack. It was a Star Wars one, of course.

"Thanks!" Chailee beamed at the girl when she agreed to let her copy notes. Without them, Chay would have been in quite the predicament should the teacher decide to spring a pop quiz or something on them. So, she happily followed the girl over to the table.

Pulling out her own notebook Chay looked a bit sheepishly at Millie. "I...uh...I sort of fell asleep." She laughed as she sat down on the bench with her notebook and a pen in front of her. "History just...it bores me. I've never much liked the class but I get through it."

She deftly flipped to the next available page as Millie pulled out her own notebook. Chailee noted the Star Wars design and smiled. "You like Star Wars I take it? I've seen them once before but I am not a big fan of sci fi kind of things." With care, Chailee took the notebook offered and flipped it open to a page dated for that day. Thankfully it didn't seem like there had been a terrible amount of notes that day. Only the front of the page.

Chailee also noted the doodles that Millie had said would be there. They ran up and down the margin and included everything from people and animals to random shapes and designs. It made the notebook more interesting to look at!

"Do you like to draw?" She questioned as she began to scribble down the notes as quickly as possible so as not to keep the girl waiting for too long.

Millie blinked, then grinned at the thought of the other girl falling asleep in class. “You really fell asleep? Oh gosh I’m glad you didn’t get caught! You know what that teacher does…I heard that last year he picked up a kids’ desk and shook him around to wake him up, yeesh!” She watched as Chailee pulled her notebook out and nodded when asked if she liked Star Wars. “It’s pretty much my biggest obsession, so yeah, I think that like is a little bit of an understatement. It was absolutely my life until they retconned the extended universe…I got a little upset when that happened but…well.”

She shrugged. “I do have to admit that The Force Awakens was an amazing movie, and I’m pretty optimistic about the future of the series…but the expanded universe is still what is the true storyline…at least to me.”

Her brown eyes glanced down at her dumb little doodles and Millie laughed. “I mean…I don’t really know if I like drawing…it’s just easier to stay awake if I’m doing something with my hands…so, my notes turn into a mess of scribbles! And not just my handwriting. What about you? What do you like? Do you like to draw?”

Chay looked at Millie with wide, surprised eyes. "No he didn't! Oh god, that would have been so embarrassing if he had done that to me." She groaned. "I am going to have to make sure not to fall asleep in that class anymore. It's so hard though with how he drones on and on." Not to mention I am not always getting much sleep.

"I didn't see the new movie." Chailee admitted. "I mean, I think the series is ok, but I am not a big fan? Really though I am not a big TV watcher. I prefer to bury my nose in books." She laughed and shrugged. "And those I tend towards fantasy than scifi."

Chay continued to jot down the notes as fast as she could while talking. Every once in awhile she'd glance at some of the art that was doodled on the side as she went. Especially if said art intersected with any notes or seemed to pertain to them. "I can't really draw." She laughed. "I do like to horseback ride and play my flute though. They're the extent of my hobbies if you include reading."

"You take some really clear notes. I am almost done!" She grinned as sh continued to scribble away. It was obvious her penmanship was far from neat and tidy in her haste but it was legible enough.

“Hmm…” Not a fan of Star Wars…? Well. The old Millie would have been all over that, trying to get poor Chailee to change her ways and forcing her to come over and watch the movies…but new Millie wasn’t all that…crazy anymore. No, not really. “Well, if you like books…maybe you and I could do a book exchange? I’ve never really been big into like, normal fantasy books, but I’m more than happy to try them out. I could bring you a book from the old Extended universe Star Wars, and you can bring me one of your favorites? I think that would be pretty cool.”

Horseback riding and playing the flute, hm? Well…she was sure they could find something to do together, provided they decided to hang out again.

“Oh, yeah? Thanks. You’re right about him though, he just goes on and on and on, I scribble what I can, but a lot of the time I feel like I’ve missed everything that he’s said. He’s like the one old guy from the eye drops commercials. I think History could be a really interesting thing to learn about…it’s one big story, but he makes it seem lke it’s nothing but…well…nothing.” Millie looked around and gave a huge yawn, shaking her head. “Ugh. I think I need a nap.”

Chailee chuckled. "I don't know how much I'll like reading a sci-fi novel but I am willing to give it a shot if you will give a fantasy one a go. I'll look through what I have and bring something in for you!" As much as Chailee didn't stray far from her fantasy novel settings maybe having someone else offer her a book to read that they believed was good may help her expand her horizons? After all, there was no better way in finding a book than when it's suggested by a friend. "I have quite a collection so I am sure I can find something you might like!"

By this point, Chailee's notes were getting more and more scribbly as her hand began to grow tired from the furious writing. She didn't want to keep her schoolmate any longer than she had to so the speed writing resulted in rather sloppy notes on her part. It didn't matter though as long as she was able to read it. Looking at the mess she had furiously written she eyed it dubiously. Well I'll be able to read most of it I think and figure out the rest form there. "That's perfect!" She said with a grin, taking a moment to look up from her work. "He really does sound like that guy!" With a giggle she returned to the notes. "I guess History could be more interesting. I don't know. I just have a hard time with all the dates and names thrown at us. It all starts to just merge into a big mess for me." She shrugged as she continued to write.

With a flourish she wrote out the last two lines of notes that Millie had jotted down before sighing and dropping her pen on her notebook with a sigh. "There! All done." She flipped Millie's notebook closer and handed it back to her. "Just in time for you to go take a nap, too!"

After stretching her poor hand out, Chailee grabbed her pen, closed her notebook, and stuffed both of them back into her bag. "I'll take a look at books for you tonight. I have a few in mind. Have you ever read Harry Potter cause if not, I know what I'll be bringing you."

Millie took the notebook back and stuffed it into her already overstuffed backpack. “Harry Potter? You mean there are people who haven’t read Harry Potter yet? Those poor souls! I’m in Ravenclaw, and very proud of that fact! Honestly, Harry Potter might be my second favorite thing, after Star Wars…it’s so fun and there’s so much room for continuing the story, and I think that’s what I love the most about Star Wars too…it’s not just some guy in some place…it’s a whole world with people that you learn to love and cry when they hurt and…and it’s just great.”

She paused and flushed. “I really like books I think. It might be becoming an issue.” Slipping her bag back onto her shoulders the teenager gave grin. “So, bring me something awesome, if you like Harry Potter, well I’m already sure that your book tastes are at least somewhat good, I trust whatever you’ll bring me.”

This was nice. A normal friendship…maybe friendship in the making? It was really nice. And Chailee seemed like a really sweet girl too, not a bad influence or anything. This might be just what Millie had been missing. Friends. “I’ll see you tomorrow, okay? Don’t fall asleep this time.”

Chailee giggled. "Believe it or not, there are people out there who haven't read it. I am a proud Hufflepuff, nice to meet ya!" With a grin Chailee stood up from the bench she had perched herself on. "I love expansive worlds cause then you can just imagine yourself in them too and it's just great! It really opens up creativity. At least for me."

The bluenette stared at Millie for a moment before laughing at the blush and confession. "Liking book sis definitely not an issue. I'll make sure to find something you like, especially now that I know you like Harry Potter."

Slipping out from behind the bench, Chailee grabbed her book bag which she had deposited on the ground and slipped her own notebook inside of it. Slipping the messenger bag over her shoulder's she blushed a bit at Millie's comment. "I'll try not to, promise." She offered the girl a grin. "And yea, I'll see you tomorrow!"

She finally parted ways with the girl, making her way to the bus stop. I think maybe I've got a new friend. That pleased Chailee beyond imagination. The entire way home she thought about what book might be best to bring Millie.
