 She moved with a fluid like grace, her father had done everything in his powers to make sure she moved like a lumberjack, harder for boys to sniff about but Rire had this inner grace, this pull and appeal to either sexes really and she flourished with it.
Some had little surprise when she came up pregnant with no mate, of course they assumed she was just that kind of girl. And Rire took each snide comment, dirty look and well generally nastiness with a smile and kindness, she enjoyed the company of others, and had a love/hate with the concept of love..And then she bore kits and well, everything else sorta flew out the window.
Which is what brought her to her current task, since she had dropped her trio off with her father and aunt for a few days, she was making her way to where Nina and Kimi stayed, knowing of course her daughter wouldnt be there..and hoped she could catch Kimi.
She owed him plenty for helping her with the kits, he hadnt known her from another stranger, and helped her a great deal. She couldnt shake the odd feelings she got when she was around him and the kits...and figured it was time to take a step into exploring that and well...she wasnt known for waiting for someone else to make a move.
Coming closer, she glanced around. "Kimi?" she called.

Kimihiro sat straight upright with his front toes dug into the grass at his feet, as if that would give him a more sure purchase on the earth. His tail drooped, drooped and rose again, and drooped again after. Currently he was sharing some words of wisdom with a pale coated acquaintance, a creamy coated kit drooped worse than Kimi's tail at their feet. The kitten's attention had wandered and he had leaned against his father, and was now half asleep, until the male gave a wide dopey smile, a nod and turned to walk off. The kit slumped, bumping his chin on the ground before his father turned back to snatch him up from the ground and carried him off.
After the pair left, Kimi settled to the ground in a heap, giving a loud sigh and then rolling onto his back and stretching out. It was nearly as tiring... no. It was definitely more tiring to deal with adults who should have never been entrusted with boxes in the first place, than it was looking after Nina. She was an angel in comparison... he missed not having her round and she'd only been gone a day.
Giving a laugh as he lay there, supposed to having a break and the only thing on his mind was them... Maybe he'd take a moment and try Parvati's quiet listening again... Only what he heard instead of a song was still somehow music to his ears. As quick as he could manage, which wasn't quick in the slightest, he rolled to his feet, posture relaxed. "Rire, I'm here."

There was no rush in her movements, Rire moved like she had all the time in the world, though her movements were never wasted. Rire wasted nothing, not a moment in the day was wasted doing anything but enjoying life, ones pleasures, finding happiness. That was the key to Rire's light hearted demeanor, happiness. She couldnt have survived without being able to find happiness in life.
"Well, hello Kimi." She said with a flash of a smile as she nosed his cheek in greeting. "Are you busy?" She asked with an arched brow, mischief dancing in her eyes.

Maybe he straightened his back just a little bit more, tail curled tight against his rump. Her question unconsciously put him into 'responsible mode' something he was still working on. Being reliable, being relied on, was not something he had a lot of experience with. Since leaving home as a young adult he'd only had himself to take care of, he never really made it a habit to go out of his way to help anyone. Sure if he encountered someone while he was out on his travels that could use some assistance, he'd lend a paw, as well as he could, but he would rarely stick around or go the extra mile. He told himself it wasn't selfishness, but self preservation, acting this way. It wasn't until he'd come home, settled his paws and was basically shoved into the role, that he actually made an extra effort, but somehow. It was really no extra effort at all. He'd needed that fatherly nudge.
"What can I help you with, would your father not take the kits after all?"
He'd shaken his head in the slightest in reply, too hard would make his head spin, but even as the question left his lips did he realize there weren't any kittens tagging along, it was just the two of them. Still, whatever she needed... It took an extra moment for him to grasp that look in her eye but he eventually smiled, realizing his folly.
"Oh. Uh, that is, I don't have any plans to speak of."

She let out a laugh and shook her head, it was strange not to have a kit or two in tow but she snorted softly. "Im pretty sure Im going to have to drag them away from each other when its time to go home, not sure who will be more stuck on whom."
"Well darlin'.." She drawled sweetly as she shifted a touch closer to him, her eyes sparkling as a teasing grin lit up her face. "Im taking you on a date.." She purred lightly with a wiggle of her brow before she smiled. "And I will take nothing as an excuse as well." She gave a quick nod.

Rire's laugh was mirrored, a wry smile on Kimihiro's maw. Nina dearly loved her grandfather, she was very vocal about the time she spent with him. Nina was very vocal about basically everything.
"Just leave them with him until he brings them back," he teased, knowing full well that Rire wouldn't do such a thing. She adored her kittens.
The sudden offer, as it was, surprised him, an entirely welcome surprise to be sure. "That's you assuming I'd try and make up something quick to say no." His smile shifted into something warmer, softer. Carefully hopeful. He hadn't really let himself admit that he liked Rire. Admired her, yes. Enjoyed her company, yes indeed, but he was guarding that little spark of like very carefully. He still wasn't admitting anything.
"Where would you like to go?"

She pretended to ponder for a moment, as if she didnt have anything already lined up, well she had a general idea, she enjoyed taking things as they went and just going with the flow of things.
"I was thinking maybe a nice stroll along the beach? The sun should be starting to set soon and its a beautiful sight to watch the stars dance on the sea." She said with a soft sigh, she was a true little romantic at heart, not that she often let her heart have its way lately. She had her darling kits, she had made her peace with the fact that others spoke poorly of her, and that not many would be willing to step in with a female with kits....well besides Kimi of course but there was something different about him, special in a way she'd honestly had to admit to herself that she hadnt really felt for another.

As Rire pondered, Kimi tried to think of something as well, but then she'd come to him so she probably did have something in mind... He studied her, in that quiet moment, a soft smile on his maw.
When she spoke, even his bad ear twitched forward. "That would be, lovely," He murmured, pushing himself to his feet. Somehow he always found himself at home on sand. The way it gave beneath his feet, like snow, but snow was cold. He definitely preferred the warmth, and the sound of the waves reminding him of his childhood days. It was a comfort.
He gestured with a dip, in the direction of the beach. There were quiet places along the strip of surf, where they would probably not be disturbed.

She knew just the secluded strip of beach that would be just perfect this time of evening, specially since she wanted to make sure that no one would find him. Rire had slight sharing problems, as an only child really it had never been her strong suit, and she often shared his company with the kits and well..she simply wasnt going to share at this moment.
She sent him a flirty smile as she started towards the beach, her movements slow, she was going to walk with him, not lead the way. Plus she rather liked the way his curled tail swayed with his walk, it was adorable...yeah...thats what it was, thankfully she didnt blush easily so her own thoughts only flustered her a bit.

Kimi's pace was slow, he could move fast, in short bursts, if he really needed to, but wound up dizzy after. He'd gotten slower since his youth but it never bothered him until someone had to keep pace with him and then he was self conscious.
Looking after Nina wasn't so difficult, she'd run ahead but circle back over and over, there was an added benefit in that she wore herself out running back and forth. Still she'd questioned it from the start.
With Rire... she'd never asked and he'd never asked her in turn, about her kits' father. It had never been an issue, and Kimi had seen it as not his business. Which it wasn't, he didn't listen to gossip as a rule anyway, what with not wanting to hear what people had to say about him.
Kimi matched the smile Rire so easily tossed his way and took a deep breath of the evening air, soon the weather would be warming as the seasons changed.
"You know, I've never been on a date. Not really."

Her ears perked as she looked at him in surprise, "Really?" She couldnt believe it, it was no secret Rire was a little flirty minx, but the actual dates she had been on were few, but still she had a couple under her belt, but she couldnt believe no one had ever asked Kimi out.
What was wrong with the female population? She thought to herself, really they were missing out on a great find...all the better for her she thought with a soft smirk.
"Well, I must make sure you have a fabulous time of course." She winked at him and nosed his shoulder lightly.

"Is it that hard to believe?" The surprised look on Rire's face nearly had him blushing, he smiled, sheepish, gave a little one-shouldered shrug and continued forward.
"The only reason I mentioned it, is well. I'm not entirely sure..." Now there was a definite warmth to his cheeks. "I feel so silly having said it. Nevermind." He shook his head, smiled at her and hurried his feet along a little quicker.
The ground began to slope and grass gave way to sand bit by bit. The sun still hadn't set entirely yet and was dazzling reflecting off the sea, so much so that it was hard to look at.

Her movements quickened to match his, her toes wiggled at the feel of sand under her paws, she really loved the beach. When she was the kits age, she spent hours running up and down the beach when she would visit her uncle.
"Not entirely sure of what Kimihiro?" She asked with a slight tilt of her head, she rarely, almost never used anyones full name, and his was heavy on her tongue, she toyed with the feeling of it in her mind before she danced ahead of him a little.
"And it is hard to believe....There arent many like you, if any." She said in a matter of fact tone, he to her, was rare...like a unicorn.
