Wow. I feel sorry for you and your friend. I'm always a little clumsy with my sticks and mallets and I always hit the instruments when everything's quiet. Then everybody turns around to look at me.

lol last season we were performing for our elementary school and I (being in colorguard) going to my drill, was hit in the face with a flag, lol knocked my tooth loose xd I was afraid that it would start to bleed or something and freak out all the little kids, but it didn't luckly, and that same day I was kicked and elbowed in the same side of my face xp not a good day

This one wasn't really my fault but here goes...

The guard decided at one point during a practice to DRAG the flags on the ground as they went back. Actually it was because of the fact that they didn't know the work for that part. But the guard had to cross through the drumline, then the drumline though the band, what wound up happening was me slipping on the flag being drug, and falling with the drum on me, then the person that i crossed through fell over me and my drum.

Needless to say that the BD told the guard to learn the work or else leave. Until then, hold the flags on the pole, not on the ground.

Okay so I'm piano in Jazz Band and there's two other pianists and we switch for the songs. So like for the Winter concert one of the other pianists was playing her song and she had her hand on the volume control [it was an electric keyboard] because she had a big solo coming up. This isn't the first time this has happened, but she ended up hitting the beat button and it started making this drum sound and stuff and I had to run over and shut the piano off and back on. It was quite amusing and our percussion section leader, the drummer, was giving us weird looks all night. Fun times in band. Tchhya.

I've marched Bass now for three years. One day, during an afterschool rehersal, our director called for all sectionleaders to step out and watch their sections marching techniques and make sure they were hitting their spot when they were supposed to. So...naturally I stepped out and was watching the rest of the bassline. This one guy who played bass 5 was way off from his marked position and I turned to yell at him to move up to where he was supposed to be. This required me to march backwards, which I have done so many times before. This time, however, there was a rock in my path and I accidentally stepped on it. Well... I swear I fell and regained my ballance atleast 5 times before I actually hit the ground. I landed flaon my back and my bass slammed down on top of my ankle and rolled across the practice field. crying Several other drummers rushed over and helped me up. Then several others were like "Hey, is your drum okay?" Nice, huh? Afterwards, our director asked how everyone liked my little tumble. He then asked me if I was okay, so... I guess he's not totally insensitive.

I have a couple major oops moments in Color Guard....

First one was me running in the gym with a flag. I got the flag caught on something, fell, smashed my head into the floor and got a concussion.

Second guard concussion involved my tossing a parallel for the first time. It got caught on my wrist and smacked into the base of my skull, saw blue from that one.

Oh, another time i was tossing pop-ups and almost broke my nose! xd That one was pretty stupid though...

I just shouldn't toss flags...

Oh, one time one of my drummer friends tripped over something on the feild, fell down, rolled over his drum, stoob back up, and continued marching the show. It was pretty spectacular.

Oh, and the competition after that (we had this part in the show where we fought with bamboo poles) and my partner smacked me in the side accidentally and knocked the wind out of me. The same year, at the regional competition my parasol (with which we danced) snapped in half upon opening it.

Yeah, you'd think i would have gotten the hint...haha

I broke the gong.
I got my foot caught in the vibraphone pedal during a competition.
I was involved in the drum majors salute (I was doing an act) and I screwed it up

We were marching along and I was marching behind the snare drummer, who I couldn't see behind the bass because she was shorter than me. Well she started to slow down for some reason, and I hit her in the back.

Another story (doesn't have to do with me, yay)
Snare drummer was starting the drumline. When he hit the drum, he hit it to hard and the stick flew over his head.

One that has do with my drumset and me (nodody was around to see it)
As I was just playing a few rhythms I knew. (I think it was the my techno rhythm thing). My wrists were starting to hurt, because my grip was too tight. When I hit the drum the stick flew back and hit me in the head.

this has nothing to really do with the playing part of band but one time during band camp the drumline was pranking each other and we had gotten a bunch of valve oil and put it in a bucket and set it to fall over when he came in the door but unfortunately the band director came in before our tenor guy did.... boy were we in trouble

another time during a show one of our cymbals was doing a flash when the strap broke the cymbal flew through the air and knocked out one of our bass players
