Jayce was halfway through his bowl of ramen before he stopped long enough for them to have a decent conversation. He’d handwaved her initial request and raised his eyebrows until they’d almost disappeared into his hairline, instead just ordering his meal and chatting about recent band drama. He’d needed the time to digest, to mull over exactly what had just occurred. It was momentous. It was a doorway that Centisima could choose to walk through, regardless of what could be waiting on the other side. If he didn’t, it would just be more patrols, more youma and the long, annoying wait for information. He chased a piece of pork around his bowl with his chop sticks and finally said: “Well, I’m going to use the crystal tomorrow. See what happens.” Lucyal hello! here is another thing! <3

She was not patient. Eagerness was a painfully obvious aspect of her personality, but it went both ways. Olga was chomping at the bit to talk about the stuff that had happened, but Jayce had effectively dodged her between band drama and food. As high strung as she was feeling, Olga all too happily took it out on her bowl of ramen as well. She had a mouthful of noodles like a character in an anime when Jayce finally broke open the seal on the topic, and she slurped them quickly and loudly, spraying the broth around. "Aw, Jayce, come on---" She pointed her chopsticks at him in exclamation as she talked. "You're going to gather energy!? That's just like what the Negaverse does! We're better than that---" She tried to keep her tone hushed as she spoke, but Olga bristled with energy at how passionate she felt about the topic---and how long she had to go without saying anything about it.

He could feel her impatience throughout the meal and had deftly derailed her earlier attempts to get to the point, even if he felt bad cutting her off to instead ramble on about how something weird was going on between Erin and Kate. Actually, he was glad not to be talking about that anymore. They were such idiots. Olga’s spray of broth had cleared most of the space between him and he took a second to wipe his cheek clean of a stray droplet. Now that the conversation had properly started, he leaned his chin on his hand and continued to idly mess with his half-eaten ramen.“Relax. It’s not the same. At least, not yet. I’m only going to gather my energy. I’m not going to touch anyone else and then I’m going to see what our mystery man has to say.” He was calm and thoughtful, watching her with an expression that suggested he’d taken the time to make up his mind and nothing she said would change it. “One of us has to dig deeper and I’d rather it be me. I’ll visit him, ask some questions and then I’ll call you.”

Olga's lips twisted. "It's the same---" She then made an exasperated sound. " Your energy!?" She echoed, incredulously. "That's---" Olga vented on her ramen bowl. She ate some more, noisily consuming more noodles and spraying more broth droplets around. "I ha' sayin' stupi'---" She was talking with her mouthful, swallowed, speaking clearly. "But that's stupid---Jayce, you need that energy for being a senshi---don't take it from yourself---I mean, I'm glad you're not going to take it from anyone else but---still---yourself isn't an answer, either!" She frowned into her ramen bowl, and muttered, not that quietly, " Why are all my guy friends really obstinately stubborn?" Never mind that she fit right in and was describing herself as well. Olga stared into her ramen bowl as if it held the answers a bit longer, made another exasperated sound, and then looked back at Jayce, clacking her chopsticks. "More questions than answers, guy---that other guy was just so---mysterious. What kind of questions are you gonna ask him, huh?"

Maybe it was because he’d only actually encountered a agent of the Negaverse (youma not included) once, that it didn’t feel the same. The stranger didn’t feel bad. Granted he hadn’t felt good either but it was worth exploring. You couldn’t achieve anything without putting a bit of energy into it, right? "It’s not like the energy won’t come back, right? I’ll take a few days off from the senshi thing, drain my energy and see what happens. If it’s actually a trap and it kills me, well… I’ll leave a note so someone knows to contact you." Though talking about his potential demise was probably not the most effective way of convincing anyone. He tapped a chopstick against the side of the bowl as if it was a drum, lacking etiquette but at least attempting to make some sort of decent clinking rhythm. "I-" Clink. Clink. Clink. "I’m not sure actually. You know how, when you know almost nothing, you can’t decide what questions to even ask? You got any suggestions? I was just going to rock up with some energy and see what he said and the come up with some decent questions on the spot." He smiled, a little ruefully, aware that he wasn't going into this with a rock solid plan. "Maybe more about where he comes from and the whole destroy the Negaverse thing."

"Well, yeah, but---" Always a but. "What if you need to power up to defend yourself or something? You should be at the top of your game---and then you won't be because you're recovering from an energy drain---I've been in the receiving end of one, okay---it's like having a sleep debt, but worse! It's the pits!" Olga then groaned, and couldn't help but reach over and punch his arm. Not hard enough to be painful, but with enough force to know she didn't think this was funny. Her lips twisted, and she pushed around a bit of meat with her chopsticks, but nodded. "Yeah. I do. It was just now, honestly. Anything I wanted to ask..." She paused for a moment. "It just seemed too dumb and too noob in comparison to what everyone else was talking about." She paused for a moment, staring wide eyed at her bowl as she thought. "...Maybe not so much suggestions---but stuff I wanna know." She looked back at Jayce. "People have their reasons for fighting...yeah? One of the agents I met---she thinks she's protecting the Earth from Senshi---the bad guys. She thinks we're bad guys because we're not 'from Earth originally'...I...I guess I want more answers about...that. Like---does the Negaverse really believe they're protecting the Earth from us? Is that why they're here..." Olga frowned. "Just chalking it up to the stereotypical power hungry organization that wants to conquer the world---no---universe, maybe? I dunno, it just seems too---basic...but who is to say it isn't the motive, yanno? Organizations use propaganda all the time..." Ruriska Omg that gif fjewkfjkwkle

It was only when her punch connected that Jayce realized that she really was, honestly and properly, worried. It shouldn’t have been a revelation but it was. They were friends, sure, but because he wasn’t giving the situation the gravity it probably deserved, he’d half-expected Olga to simply express some concern and then shrug it off with a ‘be careful’. "I’ll be fine," he assured her, abandoning his chopsticks in favour of leaning back in his chair, out of range of any further attacks. "I won’t let myself blackout and then I’ll power down right away and go home for a nap." Jayce waved a hand, trying to brush aside any further ‘buts’. At least they were onto something constructive now, though he couldn't help but roll his eyes when she talked about the agent she’d met. "How delightfully xenophebic. That’s like hating everyone who doesn’t come from America. Wow, look at us horrible senshi, running around and causing trouble with our fancy magic. Good thing they can drain energy and attack people with weapons and monsters in order to combat how bad we are." Jayce got off the sarcasm train after one last extra derisive snort. "You’re right though. We don’t even know what the motive of the Negaverse is. Both sides of a war always think they are in the right."

Olga batted his waving hand, still not pleased. Never mind that if she was in Jayce's shoes, she honestly would have been treating her own well being rather causally as well. She'd also have the 'everything is fiiiine and will work out' attitude. She would have been hypocritical like that, but alas, she was on the worrying side of the matter this time. "You better!" She pointed both of her chopsticks threateningly at him, and even made a feint jab at his face to reiterate it. She then picked up another piece of meat and chewed, nodding. Olga swallowed what she was eating, and gave another firm nod. "Right---exactly. They think they're in the right...and that agent I talked to---I asked her. Yanno. You know the Negaverse targets innocent civilians, right? Drains their energy and steals their souls---how can you say you're protecting them when you're taking from them? She had no idea, honestly and well..." Olga grimaced. "I guess just like in the real world military---some people don't exactly know what they're signing up for---or they get mislead."

“I was planning on saying hello to the next Negaperson by punching them in the face but now I think I’ll try talking to them instead. It’d be good to get some insight into the other side before… you know, trying to kill them all.” Jayce was already wondering about the logistics of mystery man’s plan. He’d open up a door and then what? Everyone would run around murdering people? Everyone would mill about like confused deer until the bad guys they were supposed to be murdering murdered them? Was there a fancy weapon? Some sort of bomb? It would probably go horrible wrong. He relayed those same thoughts to Olga and ended with, “I’d better ask him about all that too.”

Olga bobbed her head as she listened to his points, and while he spoke, she finished off the rest of her ramen. At the end, she had her bowl up to her lips and was draining the broth before placing it down. Empty. She laid her chopsticks across the top of the bowl, and glanced at his own bowl before looking back at him. She wiped her mouth with a napkin, and nodded. "Yeah...I mean, it's good to ask, I think---even if it feels like you end up with more questions than answers." She grimaced. "That's how I feel. I ask things, and I do learn things, but in the process of learning---like, each question I ask multiplies what I don't know times ten. I just wish there was something---or someone---we could get a solid foundation from. With as little bias as possible. Facts would be great, but you know how it goes---history is written by the winners!" She paused. "If there are winners." Her brows knitted. "Doesn't really feel like any winners in this war."

Jayce pressed two fingers against the side of his bowl and pushed it over towards her. He usually had a fairly decent appetite but there was too many thoughts churning around inside his head for him to concentrate on eating. “Maybe that’s what we should work on as well- finding answers. It was obvious that some of the other senshi and whatever, they’d been around the block a few times. They felt tough. We should try and track one down, find out what they know.” He grabbed his paper napkin and started slowly tearing it to pieces. "There really needs to be a senshi manual… or even just a pamphlet. I mean, damn."

Since the weird meeting that night, for the first time Olga's expression lit up as Jayce pushed his bowl over to her. "Thanks!" She chirped, and immediately took it and picked up her chop sticks. She worked on finishing what he had left. She always had a very healthy appetite, but tense and uncertain situations just made her appetite ramp up. "Been working on it---" She replied with a mouthful of vegetables and meat, spraying some broth everywhere again. "Talking to older senshi---but I definitely want to talk to more---" She finished what she had in her mouth. "Yeah....yeah, there does. I'd even settle for some galactic library where I can go to read all the things I need to know---because I feel like that's what you'd need, a library---" Olga paused, her chopsticks stilling, before she had a thought. "Oh, speaking of galactic---" She looked over at Jayce. "Have you gone and visited your space rock yet?" She asked with the utmost curiosity.

It was nice to see a girl with a good appetite. The ones happy to scoff down a burger or a bowl of ramen were always more fun than Little Miss Salad. "A galactic library. Now there’s a thought," he even closed his eyes to imagine it. In his head it was light a space station from a Sci-Fi movie, stretching forever with huge windows overlooking the universe. "That would be amazing, right? Sort of like that library in the Airbender cartoon, except you know, kinda better and without the creepy owl." Jayce looked down at his pile of torn napkin pieces and pushed them into a neat pile. "My what?" He asked and was immediately distracted by his phone, "hang on." Kate’s name was flashing up on the screen and he swore under his breath as he answered. The ensuing conversation was both long and annoying with a lot of eye rolling in Olga’s direction. "Yes, fine, whatever, sure. I’ll see you later." He hung up and stretched his arms above his head, still holding onto his mobile. "Ugh, I’m gonna go. More stupid drama. They can’t go five minutes without stupid drama." Lucyal I'M SORRY DERAILING YOUR SPACE ROCK OPENING because in the rp after this with Caedus i've already referred to him now knowing about the planets XD next rp he'll bring it up and they can immediately go planet side!

"Definitely---and yeah, your space rock, you can---" Olga paused though as he interrupted her. "Oh, sure!" As Jayce spoke, Olga ended up finishing his bowl of ramen, making faces back at him between eating. She drained the bowl and put it down, placing her chopsticks back on top. She blinked in surprise as he suddenly stood after. "Oh---" She frowned briefly, and then stood as well, pulling her winter coat back on and straightening it. "Alright! Well, sorry for the drama you need to deal with---both that and the...yanno, magical stuff." She figured she could talk to him about it next time. Space rock stuff. "Hey...be careful, alright?" She reached out once more to smack his arm lightly. "I mean it!" Ruriska THAT'S OKAY! That helps wrap this one up and put us up to date and to speed with RPs *n*

"Yeah, yeah, I’ll be careful." His tone was flippant but as he moved next to her, he slipped an arm around her shoulders and gave a gentle squeeze. "Don’t worry. Centipedes are really hard to kill- or is that cockroaches? Damn, it’s cockroaches." Jayce fixed the collar of her jacket and then dropped his arm. "Centipedes are tough little shits anyway. I’ll call you as soon as I do anything." It was actually nice to have someone worry about him. Lucyal and i think we can wrap this one up now! we're on a roll!
