It had been easier than Denebola had expected, to fall back into patrolling. It seemed safer now because she could call Corvus to come aid her if she needed and it helped renew her confidence in herself and her fighting capabilities.

She wouldn't admit it, but Iris' biting words had been quite the blow to her ego. Especially when she got her a** kicked by the blonde eternal senshi in the spar that followed. Still, it had been good practice and she'd be foolish if she hadn't learned something in the process.

It'd been good for her fighting skills, if damaging to her ego.

So, there she was out in the early evening before the city wide curfew came into effect scouting her circuit for suspicious activity. The night air was brisk and crisp, a chill curling around her spine and shuddering down it. Her cheeks were tinted red from the cold and her two-colored eyes swept across the mostly empty streets with a few closed or open signs glowing eerily into the night.

look, a battle!

He liked this.

Perhaps he did not have Labyrinthite's weaponry or his experience, but Wolfeite at least now had power - or rather, the beginnings of it. He wanted to cultivate it, wanted to let it grow and develop into something more, something intense.

Something more than what he had so that he could use it for what he wanted.

It would happen, eventually, he knew it. It was just a matter of doing what he could until then. Being patient was, fortunately for Wolfeite, something he was very, very used to, and biding his time for this was going to be relatively easy, he determined.

In the meantime - he was very...very eager to put his new skills to use.

He'd been taught how to recognize power signatures, not that he needed anyone's help for that. The Order side simply felt...sterile. Like a hospital wing, too stiff and too clean. It made him wrinkle his nose in disgust, Wolfeite's shoes clicking on the pavement as he made his way down an empty street, following the feel of it.

He saw her, just up ahead; her pale, pastel colors were a sharp contrast to the ones he wore, and Wolfeite felt a smile curve his lips upwards beneath the bandanna, his head bent low against the wind.

There was no greeting. Wolfeite simply stood there and waited for her to notice him.

She felt the oppressive, choking aura before she saw it's owner. It felt like smoke clouding her lungs and obscuring her vision, but her experience with it all allowed her to push past the fog, minimize it to a nagging feeling in the back of her mind. It came from behind her, stayed stationary but pulsing around her, crawling along her skin and she turned, slowly, on her wedged heels.

There was something off in the way the man stood, head bent and waiting for her to look at him. She could tell, by the weakness of the power signature, that he was a lowly grunt but her instincts tingled danger, danger.

She blinked slowly, heart rate increasing as her breath caught in her throat. Dual colored eyes swept across the red and black uniform, lingered on the bandana and the grin painted across it. Exhaling, she dared to speak.

"Do you always loom creepily beneath a streetlamp like a serial killer, or is today just special?"

His head tilted to the side, like a wolf surveying its prey, Wolfeite's darkened eyes glittering maliciously under the lamplight. She was a very pretty young woman; all white and light and bright, as all of the senshi seemed to be. It was far from his own preferences, the black of his own uniform standing out in stark contrast.

"That depends," said Wolfeite, with an almost lazy lilt to his voice, drawing steadily nearer to the senshi. "Are you out here for any particular reason?"

He stopped in front of her, only a short distance away.

"You reek of Order."

She didn't like the way he looked at her. It made her skin scrawl even as she stood defiantly and tall. "Your serial killerness depends on why I'm out here, wow, how charming," she said dryly, pressing a hand against her chest. "Is that how you get all the ladies?" The question was complete with an eyeroll.

You reek of Order, he snarled and she felt the hair on the back of her neck stand on edge. Everything about him was predatory and her entire body was on high alert.

"Yeah, well you smell like wet dog."

Denebola's fingers curled into fists, eyes narrowed. "You don't have to stick around and smell if I reek."

Beneath the kerchief, he smiled. It was a relaxed, feral sort of smile, his eyes gleaming with exhilaration, anticipation racing through his veins. Wolfeite took a step closer, enjoying the reaction he was getting from the senshi far too much; her hackles were raised, her irritation palpable.

He drank it all in like a fine wine, rolling his neck a little to work out some of the stiffness.

"No, I don't," said Wolfeite lightly. "But I like to get rid of stains."

And he lunged, a fist swinging towards her.

She didn't like the way he looked at her. She didn't like the gleam in her eye or the way her stomach twisted when her instincts screamed, danger, danger, danger at her. His energy signature was weaker than her, but her gut told her that he was likely to be on equal footing with her.

She didn't like that.

He encroached on her personal space and Denebola could sense that a fight was about to break out between them. She grit her teeth and inhaled sharply right as he lunged.

Her reflexes were not as sharp as she would have liked, despite Iris's best attempts at whipping her back into shape. She'd been out of grappling practice that she almost forgot to move, to attempt to dodge the fist flying her way.

She moved too late and he caught her in the shoulder, hard. Hissing in pain she spun, kicking out with one of her wedged heels to put space between them and then she sprang forward aiming punches at his face.

He knew her power signature was stronger than his, but it made no difference, nor did it deter him. Wolfeite cared little for this fact; it was merely a blip on the radar of things that could have stopped him from getting what he wanted, and right now he wanted energy. Right now he wanted her starseed.

He felt his fist connect with her shoulder in a satisfying thud, spinning her slightly. Wolfeite managed to dodge her first hit, but her second caught him on the jaw and snapped his head painfully back, his teeth snapping together with the impact. A hiss of irritation passed between them, and Wolfeite twisted, grabbing for one of her arms.

"Little White Moon who thinks she knows best," he breathed out, yanking. "I should tear your hair from your head."

It had been a while since she'd fought another agent. Fights against General Labyrinthite did not count because those had simply been moments in time where she'd interfered hoping to protect an innocent and well -

Regulus had been there, he'd helped her.

Fighting Wolfeite was not like fighting the youma she'd been dusting over the last few months. Sure, her skills were rusty because that was what happened when you disappeared from the superhero scene for months but they'd been improving and yet. Fighting this lieutenant in his black and red garb was going to be a challenge, she could tell.

He reminded her of Labyrinthite's ruthlessness and it sent shivers down her spine. Still, she keep her arms up, pleased when she clocked him on the jaw only to be horrified when he grasped her arm and yanked. She fell forward, losing her momentum and her mind blanking as she tried to remember what punch or kick or knee she was going to throw. She went with a knee to the gut as she hissed from the way her arm was yanked.

His voice creeped her out and she struggled with keeping it from showing even as her other hand grappled with his grip on her. "Go. To. Hell," she hissed between bared teeth.

He liked the thrill of the fight, the heat of the battle, the shiver of pleasure that raked up his spine, adrenaline spiking through his veins. Wolfeite shifted his feet, trying to balance himself as he yanked the senshi back with a low growl that rumbled deep in his throat.

Her knee raised, caught him in the stomach, and Wolfeite staggered back with a hiss of anger, the wind knocked out of him, though he just barely managed to keep ahold of her wrist. Gasping and wheezing, he pressed his free hand to his throbbing stomach and looked up at her, his eyes glinting with hatred.

"Hell should welcome me," Wolfeite snarled, and aimed a kick at her leg.

She did not mind fighting but she didn't like it or revel in the thrill of it all. Frankly she fought when she had to and didn't go out of her way to engage in battles anymore. She was not the young and foolish senshi she'd been when she was first awoken.

She liked to think she was smarter. Stronger. Better.

"Then I hope you burn," she spat, yanking her arm free as she took a couple of steps back. Her head was telling her that she should run, get away because this man was dangerous in ways she wasn't ready for.

It'd been too long since she'd fought against someone like this. Labyrinthite didn't count. Not with the way his hand often wrapped around her throat or her starseed and last time - if it hadn't been for Jamie...

She shook her head, eyes narrowing as she muttered under her breath and ran at Wolfeite. She didn't like using her magic so soon but it seemed like the best option.

Flight of the Dragonflies!

Sailor Denebola gets a speed boost in the series of a short dashes that allow her to double the force of a physical attack. The duration of this attack is one minute, or until she comes in contact with her opponent. This attack can be used twice per battle but is best to be used only once as it is very taxing and if used twice(especially if used twice in a row) can cause immobilization, or extreme vulnerability to damage.

He knew her power signature was above his, though not by much. She also had magic, which Wolfeite saw as a cheap trick, an underhanded blow that stemmed from a lack of other strength. The senshi relied on their magic to get them by, and it was this that would be their downfall.

Wolfeite would make sure of that.

Beneath his mask he grinned, pleasure in his voice as he said, "I intend to."

He felt a shift, and then she was running towards him, faster, quicker than she should have been, and Wolfeite gave a shout of anger, of fury as she collided with him. He pushed at her fruitlessly, his feet skidding on the ground, and felt his back crack against the wall of a nearby building.

A stream of curses escaped him, each one fouler than the last, the breath knocked out of him once more.

Denebola was dizzy in the aftermath of her magic usage but she did not let it show. Any sliver of weakness would be taken and exploited by the b*****d if she let it. So instead, she sucked in a breath and used the momentary daze he likely felt from being slammed into a wall to throw two punches, one to the gut and the other to his jaw. Then she jerked up a knee hoping to keep him out of breath.

Everything was wrong, her heart pounded against her chest and breathing was harder than it should of been.

If she didn't finish this quickly, it could turn much uglier and she was worried about what that might mean. She had people to protect so dispatching of the man was priority number one and yet -

She feared she was not strong enough, that she'd been out of practice for too long.

One punch, followed by another, crushed into his chest. Wolfeite let out a snarl of mingled pain and anger, a strangled gasp escaping him as the senshi drove her knee into his stomach. He staggered back, clutching at his chest, and slid a little down the wall, blackness encroaching in his line of vision.

He wanted to crush her between his fingers, but he couldn't seem to manage to get back up to his feet, her blows having winded him completely.

The lieutenant was winded and Denebola thanked the cosmos that she was a pay grade above him in the magical hierarchy of things. She was more grateful when she clocked him in the face and he fell back, knocked unconscious. She stood there and watched his body crumple beneath him, hitting the concrete with a heaving chest and sweat beading down the side of her face.

She had gotten lucky, she knew that.

And she was tempted to leave him in the middle of the street but thought better of it. Huffing an annoyed sigh she looped her arms beneath his armpits and dragged him into the nearest alley way and deposited him on a heap of black trash bags ala Daredevil style.

"Right where you belong a*****e," she snapped, shaking her head in disgust before she turned on her heel and left him among the trash.
