Dylan was a Carbon. The first of his kind to be a male. He was selected by Cradle to house three young women in the hopes that he would find one to reproduce with. They gave him his own area in the facility as they studied and observed his interactions with them over the course of a year.

MAIN CAST
Dylan - A 21 year old Carbon created by CRADLE to be a test subject for breeding with other races. He is a calm individual with a good caring heart. But often gets easily stressed out by small things.
Hikaru - A 20 Neko that was kidnapped into the program early on with Zia. She is happy go lucky and playful.
Merlia - A 19 Mermaid that was just kidnapped for this experiment. She is very shy.
Zia - A 20 year old Harpy that was kidnapped into the program early on with Hikaru. She is sensual and is quick to jealousy when other women get to close to her lover.
RACES
Harpy - An avian race of females that appear like birds. While most lay small eggs, some subspecies can be found laying one large egg of even live birth.
Mermaid - A marine race of that appear like various forms of fish. Some can be out of the water longer than others, so long as they are hydrated. Like Harpy, their various subspecies can lay small eggs, large eggs and even live birth. live Unlike them however, there are [albeit] males to their species.
Nekomata - A feline race that appear like cats. They are often found carrying litters, but rare occurrences of single children can occur.
TERMINOLOGY
Carbon - Man made humanoids akin to Designer Babies, their genetics being given to them rather than randomized by chance and parentage. They are used in tests unethically dangerous to human lives.

"I'm awake, I'm awake!"
Dylan was woken up by a certain cat girl jumping on him and nuzzling him. He swore he viewed her more like a pet than an equal. She was a potential partner for him, and he questioned things often. If anything he'd like to know her and Zia first. "Can't I take a nap? What do you want, lunch?" He asks, sitting up with a yawn and rubbing his eyes.
"Awww come on Dylan your no fun. Lets have some fun. I mean we have know each other for like three months now and yet you have not slept with either me or Zia well mainly me you don't have to sleep with her." She continued to nuzzle and purr. "Oh did you hear their is going to be a new girl coming soon. She was just caught fresh from the ocean. It's just going to be one more challenge for me but I like." She had a big Cheshire smile on her face. Suddenly yelling could be heard and Zia stormed in. "Hikaru get off of him. I am the only one that is allowed to sleep with him. I am going to be first to get pregnant." Hikaru stood up and looked at the harpy. "No Zia I am going to be the first one to get pregnant." They started to stair daggers at each other. Zia suddenly hopped onto Dylans bed. "Dylan lets make love right now. We can let the kitty over there go sulk off clean her wounds." Zia grabbed Dylan's hand and placed it on her chest. "Can you not feel my heart not running for your love and the ability to make love?"

"If it was closer to your heart, I would." He said flatly, moving his hand away from Zia's ample chest at the risk of groping the harpy. These two girls was enough, and now they wanted to add another? The facility never mentioned a third! Between Hikaru's cuddling and Zia's seduction, Dylan didn't think he could take it. He was told he would get partners. But these two acted as if he was their master at times. "We have none each other for three months yes, but all you two have done is tried to get in bed with me and argue about getting to me first before the other. Are you two even doing this for the program or to have a good time?" He questioned, he wondered if the intentionally signed up for this or not.
"Can't we have both?" This was Hikaru who said this Zia had put on a pouty face. "Dylan you are so mean. We were picked especially for you, well me more than that stupid cat over there, because they deemed us more fertile than most others of or race. Not so sure about the new girl but we will have to see." "Hey your just a dumb bird like thing." Hikaru got into Zia's face once more. As they were speaking and quarreling a 19 year old girl in a tank was brought in she was kind of hiding in the corner of the tank trying to stay away from the people who had taken her from her home. She was wondered why had they done it but was quiet and looked down at her tail. She was a mermaid no legs unless out of water. She was one of the rare few of her kind who could do it. Her tail sparkled and had a slight bluish shimmer to it's already green scales making it come off almost as a teal color and not really green. They soon left her there in her own living quarters she began to cry. She was never going to see her family again.

"Girls, girls stop arguing!"
Arguing usually lead to fighting. And fighting usually meant he was going to get hurt by their claws and talons. He sighed and snuck out of his own bedroom to let the two girls bicker among themselves. A drink of water would do him good. In the quieter space, Dylan heard the sound of someone crying in another room and went to see what it was about.
"That's strange, they don't usually cry. Or stop bickering this quickly." He questioned to himself.
A short trip led him to the new girl. A mermaid of all things, how was that going to work? Well, he would need to read up on her thanks to the guidebook hanging from the tank. He tapped the glass as gently as he could.
Merlia heard the tapping and was startled when she looked up and saw Dylan looking into her tank. If she could she would have gone further back into the corner but she was already as far as she could go. She was not really use to seeing anyone else though she had been on land many times. She stayed away when there was someone on land. She bent her tail and brought it closer to her chest with the other hand she pushed her blond hair out of her face though it did not do much help since the water only really put it back where it had started.
The other two girls had noticed that Dylan had disappeared and put aside their argument for another time, like in maybe five minutes, to go find him. They soon came across Dylan with the new girl. "So this is where you are hiding. Oh this must be the new girl. I'm Hikaru this ugly bird creature over here is Zia." Zia glared over at Hikaru. "You are one to talk Hikaru have you looked in a mirror lately." This was scaring Merlia even more to the point where she truned her back on them, this only revealed several scars that ran across her back.

He looked back at her. She was scared, why? Hikaru and Zia were anything but scared when they first came here. "I won't hurt you, it's okay."
Speaking of those two, they came barging in yet again. This only ruined what little progress he was making with the mermaid. "Hey, cut it out. You're scaring her."
It was at that point he saw her scars. He wasn't sure how recent those were, but he was sure there was a story behind them. For now, Dylan chose not to draw attention to them. "I'm sorry about those two. They're an argumentative duo, but they're good people too. I'm Dylan, myself. Can you tell me your name?"
Merlia never turned around to look at the three that were outside her tank. "M....Mer.....Merlia" That was all that came out of her mouth. "What kind of name is that?" Zia laughed a little bit. The mermaid flinched when she heard that. "Please just go away." Hikaru got the message and forcefully pulled Zia out. Unlike Zia, Hiakru was just ever so nicer to new people. This only left Dylan and Merlia in the room.

"Zia!" Dylan couldn't believe she said that. Now was not the time to be making fun of people's names. He would have to thank Hikaru later for taking the Harpy with her. He sighed and turned back to Merlia. "Ignore Zia for now, she's a better person than that. Merlia is a nice name. I want to be your friend, if you'd let me. We're all in this together, we'll catch you up to speed."
"H....How c....can I t.....trust you, when these p....people took me from my home a....and forced me into this.....this tank. I just want to go home." Tears began to trickle down her cheeks. Merlia had turned around to face Dylan this time.
Hikaru had pulled Zia into the kitchen so they could prepare lunch. "Zia you need to be nicer she' new she does not know what is going on and why she is here." Zia sat down on one of the stools. "Not my problem." Hiakru just shook her head. "It is going to be your problem, he is going to spend more time with her trying to make her feel more comfortable being with us then actually spending time with us. She may end up getting pregnant before us. I really don't think you want that. So next time you should think logically before saying something are you really that dumb bird I said you are?" Zia sighed. "For being such a playful kitty you can be pretty smart some times though you could use a little make up to make you less ugly oh never mind it might actually make you look worse." Hikaru hissed at Zia while Zia laughed. They continued to make the food.

"They, took you from your home?" He saw her crying, underwater. How she managed to do that he would have to ask her later. "I'm sorry to hear that. I'll try to get you home soon. But I can't promise it will be before you do a favor for them. You see, this is a breeding facility. They want to see how compatible I am with other species to make adjustments and such. Maybe if you help out, they'll let you go early? I can't see that cat and bird wanting to leave any time soon though."
It was a what? Merlia was shocked at where she was at. "I am guessing you are wondering how that will be possible for me since I fins not legs. I am part of a rare few who.......who....." She really did not want to be a part of this but if Dylan was right she would be able to go home early. She looked down. "It might be better if I show you though I may warn you I don't have any clothes to put on and it will be kind of embarrassing." She swam to the top of her tank where there was a small platform and a towel. She climbed up on top of it and used the towel to dry her tail. She winced a little bit as she could feel her fin turn into legs. She climbed down from her tank to show Dylan what she was talking about.

"A breeding facility. They want you to have a child here. Well, see if you can make a child with me. I, know it's not the best but things are at an all time low on the outside." He explained, at least that was the story he was told. He could be incredibly wrong at that and not know. "I figured I would have to get you in the pool and work something out from there. You don't-"
Well, too late for telling her otherwise. She had already turned her tail into a pair of legs for him. "Wow, that's incredible. You look human without it. Well I guess I do see the gills and eyes being different, and your ears kinda." Amazing that her legs made her embarrassed but nothing else did.
Merlia was a little socked had he not notice that her lower half and part of her upper half was naked. She had mentioned the not having any clothes part earlier did she not. She thought that she had said something about it. She blushed before getting the towel to cover her lower half. "I am going to need some clothes.
