Freddy was practically bounding in his chair in excitement, and had to focus to keep bits of himself from fading while his tendrils flicked around like smoke on a high speed camera. He loved project days! The teacher had come in with buckets of colored play dough, courtesy of the life skills class. Apparently a group of freshlings had gotten to take a little trip over and make the dough with a group of seniors. It was like an introduction to cooking for the freshlings, and a course in how to take care of (and keep an eye on!) youngsters for the seniors. Freddy was a little disappointed he hadn't been in on that class, cause it sounded like a blast! But they still got to play with the dough, so totally a win in his book either way!

The teacher went around the to tables, putting a few buckets for the freshlings to share on each one, and instructed them to build their ideal house. So no dough mountain for Freddy, but this sounded pretty awesome too! He took a huge scoop of red dough and began to enthusiastically mush it around.

"I'm Freddy," the Geist cheerfully introduced himself to the Imp sharing his table. Already he had the red mashed pretty flat. He started cutting haphazard squares and rectangles out of it, not sure if he was going to use it for the room or doors or what just yet, but knowing he wanted some red in there. He balled the excess red up and set it aside, then reached for a pretty blue color and started rolling it into small balls. It was hard to build an actual house since the dough would collapse, but if he made pillars out of the balls maybe it would be more sturdy.

"What kind of house are you trying to build," Freddy asked as he started stacking blue dough balls into uneven columns.

Freddy tilted his head in puzzlement. He had no clue what a kiln was. Maybe some kind of oven, if you could bake things in it. He knew the dough was edible, cause the teacher had told them that they could eat it, but it would taste horrible. "I don't think you can bake this stuff. It would just burn, and maybe break. The colors would definitely be weird. Would be total waste of the awesome house you're building."

He had finished a few columns as he spoke, and was now working on some yellow dough, pinching it and smooshing it between the blue pillars to form a wall. "I'm makin' a super colorful house," Freddy said, proud of all the blinding colors he'd used so far. "I'm gonna have to pretend it has lots of rooms, cause I can't really make more than one big room."

Freddy looked over to better see what Chau was doing. He was a little envious of how nice Chau's work was compared to his, but he would be the first to admit that he didn't have any particular skills in anything art-related. Their houses were roughly the same size, though with blue supports, yellow walls, and the beginning of a red roof, Freddy's had a lot more color. He looked at the green, wondering if he should maybe try to make some bushes to put in front of the house. Lots of the buildings here had bushes in front of them, so that seemed only natural to do.

"I'm not as good at making pretty things as you are," Freddy admitted as he glanced over again to admire Chau's work. "Yours looks really good." He finished his roof, then patted some green clay into roughly spherical shapes. "It's still fun though! Better than homework."

Freddy debated that as he pressed some more dough in place. The fact that someone's work could be considered better because there were mistakes in it was....pretty darn awesome! He hoped whatever he ended up doing one day would be that cool. "I'd probably have better luck with math than art," Freddy said with a laugh, though he tried not to be so loud that they'd get in trouble with the teacher. "Unless there are people out there who want really strange, badly made things, I don't think I'd ever be famous at it." He pinched at some of his green blob bushes, hoping to maybe give them a slight branchy look. It didn't really translate well, but he stuck them down around his bright house anyway. "It is more fun though, but I bet the messes are pretty awful!"

Freddy shook his head a bit. "I could probably help you a bit in math, but I'm not all that great with science," he said, poking a few marks here and there into his little house that were supposed to be details, but mostly looked like random marks. "I was only doin' good cause we were studying plants. Now that it's ocean stuff, it's a bit harder!"

He did grin broadly as he considered Chau's statement. Messes were quite fun to make, which was part of the reason art was fun. Cooking was probably much the same, though art had more wiggle room; you could tell when cooking was bad, no matter what. "I'm still trying to figure things out though, so who knows!"

Freddy shrugged. "I'm pretty awesome, but can't be good at everything. That would just make people upset or think I'm cheating!" He didn't think he'd ever actually be any kind of great at science or art, but that was fine. He could still handle nezubats really well, and he was getting really good at gym stuff since he'd begun practicing his stretches more.

"That sounds great though! If you don't like nezubats then we probably shouldn't meet in my room to study, but the common rooms are pretty fun. I'll see you around!" He gathered up all his things and wiggled off to his next class, feeling a bit sorry for the teacher who now had to clean up all that dough!
