Not intending to get himself into any trouble that evening, Richterite headed for the one place where he figured no one should be in the dark night hours when the moon was high and the air was still. He plopped himself down onto a swing at the old playground, swaying just enough to give himself the motion to make the chains let out a low creak. The playground had been mistreated; ignored through the winter months to let the chains rust, but the quiet was nice. It gave him a chance to think somewhere else other than just sitting alone inside of his apartment. Not... That sitting alone elsewhere really made much of a difference. Sigh.

Screw curfew!
Screw the rules!
Cadmus was a senshi, so the boy believed that meant he could take care of himself. Of course, that meant taking strolls out and about by himself instead of partnering or grouping up with others to fend off the agents of chaos lurking about. And, speaking of which, he felt one that moment! The unusual tug by his ear jerked him in the direction of a nearby playground—one he could confess to visiting a few times for a breather.
Jumping down from the rooftop he stood upon overlooking it (and falling flat on his face), the boy pushed himself back up to standing and hesitantly trekked his way in the direction of the energy signature. Cadmus knew it was a bad guy, heck he could feel it, and while his last few encounters with chaos hadn't been too, err, savory, he still wanted to prove himself to be a hero.
Even if he'd get his butt kicked.
"H-hey!" the chibi senshi barked (more like yipped like a chihuahua) at the Negaverser seated on the swing set. "You there! Bad guy! P-prepare to get your butt kicked!"

You there! Bad guy! Richterite cringed while letting out an audible sigh. No, maybe it wasn't a sigh. The noise he made was definitely closer to a groan. "So much for quiet," he muttered to himself as one hand left the chain of the swing to rub at the bridge of his nose. While he had felt the tiniest blip of an order signature he had really hoped that it would just keep on moving. It hadn't. Obviously. "Alright, Pinky. Let's draw it back a little." Time to see just how much trouble he was getting himself into tonight. "Name, age and rank. You've gotta give me those three things before I'll even get up off of this swing to give you a chance at kicking my butt. It's a little hard to kick when I'm sitting on it."

Cadmus reddened with annoyance when his expectations weren't immediately answered. Isn't that how it always started? He instigated the fight, the other complied, and then they duked it out mano a mano? Being asked such unnecessary fluff really put him on edge and, had he not backed down at that moment to deliver a butt-whoopin', he felt the chance would escape him.
Pouting a bit, the chibi averted his eyes and knotted his arms across his chest. "Cadmus. Thirteen. First stage, I guess," he said rather flipantly; the grit of his teeth giving his voice a hard edge. "A-and you, bad guy? I bet you're totally weak."

"Thirteen? Hm, you know what they say about thirteen, right?" His brow lofted as he paused to flick a strand of hair out of his so that he could get a better look at the scout, leveling his gaze for a moment. "Thirteen is a very unlucky number. Cadmus, was it?" He stood slowly in order to make a big, dramatic deal of the event. "Richterite. Older than you. Captain of the Negaverse." He put emphasis on his title in the event that it would do anything to make the ball of anger back down., wondering briefly if anyone had instructed the youngster on what the difference between ranks actually was. "That's second stage, just in case you didn't know that... But I'm sure you did. You seem pretty smart."

Cadmus's knowledge regarding the Negaverse was ankle-deep at best; he just knew they were the bad guys and, of course, the bad guys had to be stopped! But the chibi could feel the threat of the man's standing ease on him with intimidating strength to the point he felt a tremble shudder his spine. Picking fights as regular ole Caelum Dawson wasn't in his repertoire, but as Cadmus, he felt like he could trump anyone.
Unfortunately, that internal belief was slowly beginning to draw like a rope around his sensibilities. He was too blinded by heroism, but that didn't mean he'd give up.
He tried to match the captain's rise with his own. Clapping his hands together and thrusting them out threateningly toward Richterite, Cadmus said, "S-so what? Just because you c-claim to be stronger doesn't mean you are." He took a step back reflexively. "So let's see what you got! C'mon!"
But, as always, drawing back his attack from releasing was easier said than done. Once he got scared, his attempt would come to no avail, and no amount of training aided him with his inability to control it. Without provocation, Cadmus's Bouncing Berry Blitz erupted from his palms, and a wave of bounding and springing cranberries sprayed out in the direction of the Negaverse captain.

Moments like this made Richterite incredibly grateful that the Negaverse was more prone to darker colors. His lips pursed together as the cranberries pelted him, leaving little red circle dots and splotches on his lighter grey pants while barely making a difference on his coat. The pelting stung on his legs, but the fabric of his coat was thick enough that he didn't seem to notice much. "Woah, woah. I think there might be a mix-up, Cadmus. It's alright if I call you that, right, since that is your name? I haven't made any claims about being stronger. Only a higher rank, and older, which potentially makes being thirteen a little bit more unlucky. When I was your age I was looking forward to making it to fourteen... Not picking fights with random 'bad guys'." Richterite made a big show of sighing again, bringing his hand up to summon his weapon. What looked like a single card was then spread out to reveal four metal throwing cards, edges gleaming in the moonlight. He was still stalling; still throwing theatrics and a bit of drama around as opposed to doing any physical harm.

Cadmus's form stiffened at the sight of Richterite's summoned weapon, a panic rising within him again.
Those... T-those look especially sharp, he thought, the notable glint to the cards bending his mind into the decision to run, run far away. In fact, he seemed to be teasing the edge of fleeing as he took another step back; the captain's notable fact that, yes, he too would like to see age fourteen. Regret swelled in his core when he realized that maybe picking fights wasn't that great of an idea.
Honestly.
"Yea, t-that's my name, but stop using it so... Just stop. You're evil, you feel evil, so that means you are. That means I have to stop you. As a senshi, I have to stop you and—" His mind flashed to Aksaite and the accidental death brought to the Negaverse agent by his own hand. Well, fist. Punch.
He hadn't meant to deck him off that bridge, it just happened.
The boy shook his head. "If you're trying to be s-scary, it isn't working," Cadmus said, taking another step back. "I'm not gonna run. I'm not!"

"Cadmus," he was going to continue to use the youngster's name if only because it seemed to make him anxious, "no one 'feels evil'. Different, maybe, but 'evil' isn't something you can feel. Real evil is in a person's actions." He took a step closer to the small scout, separating one of his cards from the other three and turning it idly between his fingers. Each turn made the edges catch in the moonlight, flickering as a distraction as he vanished the remaining cards. He hoped he would only need one. "As a senshi, your job is to survive. If you can't do that... How are you going to save the world, hm?" His brow lofted as he flashed Cadmus a grim grin before tossing the card at him. His aim had gotten much better since he had first ranked up to Captain and the card landed neatly, deliberately, just in front of the senshi.

Jumping back out of fright like the annoying little flee he was being (hey, even the chibi was aware he was being a headache here), Cadmus landed hard on his rump; biting his lower lip to suppress the yelp of pain wishing to burst forth from his throat. With small tears pearling on the sides of his eyes, he looked frantically at the card that had landed before him.
That could've taken out a a finger, or an eye... Or, or worse... My nose! the boy cried mentally. N-nnn-no way. I can't take this guy on. I'll get killed, or worse, I'd lose! Cadmus scrambled to his feet. I really do regret doing this!
He was more than ready to run. Albeit, reluctantly. Very reluctantly.
"I... I am going to live and save the world b-because you... You'll never catch me!" Suddenly, the chibi senshi made a face-heel turn and jumped off in the direction of the building he had descended from. Of course, he couldn't leave without putting one more bit of lip in. "You suck, you jerk!"
And then he was gone with a leap into the night; as simple and cowardly as that.
Skye Starrfyre If this was too early of a leaving, just let me know!

"Goodnight, Cadmus!" He called after the scout as he turned heel and ran, laughing softly to himself as he stooped down to retrieve his card. He didn't like frightening children, but he knew that there were others on his side who wouldn't have gone so 'easy' on the youth. Hopefully the scout would learn to pick his 'fights' just a little bit more carefully. Hopefully he hadn't given him nightmares... Unoderi This was perfect. Thank you so much!
