”Hey… hey are you awake?” Jet asked in concern as he leaned up against the wall of the cell, hoping to get the attention of the woman in the room next to him. “Can you hear me?” His voice was hoarse from dehydration. He was worried she’d been hurt to the point where she couldn’t move or talk. It could be that she was just trying to sleep, as impossible as that seemed with how they’d been restrained.
And then there was the cold.
It was late. He was fairly certain the White Moon were changing guards, making it quieter than usual, aside from a few muffled sobs from down the hall. Whoever it was sounded young. He felt sorry for them.
“You’re a captain too, right?”

It had been the third time Zircon had fallen asleep since her arrival, which suited to count as passage of time better than exchanges in the guard or intermittent interrogations. It was strange, that losing consciousness did not cause her to drop her glamour and lose her identity, but after the first night of reawakening as Zircon, she stopped trying to fight the drowsiness when it came. It passed the time, at least, between those who spoke with her and when she would inevitably be rescued.
She would be rescued...right?
The call of a voice pulled her from slumber, and Zircon awoke to the feeling of her face pressed against the dusty floor. Her arms throbbed from their awkward position, and again her lips had gone dry, as short a reprieve as Mistral's water had been. With a groan, she shouldered her way up to her knees, looking up through her ruffled bangs at the source of the sound.
"I am," she croaked, doing her best to put on a half-formed smile. She'd thought maybe that this one would prove to be the first sign of the cavalry, but alas, he looked just as tied up as she.
"I'm here, captain. Are you alright?" Most days, those of Zircon's rank were little more than competitors for a General's attention, but in times such as these, she needed to band together where she could. After all, she had so few allies here.

Jet let out a small sigh of relief when she did stir, but he couldn’t bring himself to smile back, instead he frowned sadly.
“Yeah,” he answered simply, glad that it was dark because he was sure his face was pale from pain and blood loss already. He figured he deserved what he got. It was his own fault for taunting a senshi whose name he didn’t know, goading on Celsus, and challenging Castor. That last one he was pretty sure resulted in a cracked rib or two, and even though he couldn’t see it, he was positive his arm was broken.
It certainly felt that way.
“Sorry… didn’t mean to wake you,” he added, resting heavily against the wall as he tried to breathe. It was too painful to breathe deeply, but at least he wasn't coughing blood anymore. At least for now. “What do you think they’ll do to us?” he wondered morbidly.

"No no, it's fine," Zircon replied, scooting herself as far as she could from the back wall to get a closer look at the other captain. God, he was so young, but then again, most of them were. She was the outlier in the Negaverse at twenty-seven years old, and the longer she stayed an active officer the greater the age gap grew. She wondered with morbid humor if the Negaverse offered a retirement plan that didn't involve becoming a youmafied foot soldier, but she knew better. There was no leaving.
"Nothing but interrogations, as far as I'm aware," she shrugged in response, looking relatively unharmed for all of her time in captivity. "Unless they're planning to keep us here for some ransom and haven't heard from Laurelite yet." Now that was an interesting thought--would Laurelite be the type to negotiate with terrorists? Were the lives of a few captains worth the integrity of her operation? Zircon was fairly certain she knew the answer, but for the sake of morale kept it to herself.
"This is no Blood Moon Court, we should be getting evacc'ed any day now," she mused to herself, leaning back to give her chain some slack. "In the meanwhile, we just need to stay as rested as possible, and ready to fight when the time comes." Rescue was coming for her whether or not it was by Laurelite's hand, but this captain didn't need to know about her deal with Scholomance if he hadn't overheard it already.

”I hope they’re not holding us for ransom. Talk about pointless,” Jet scowled at the thought, knowing when he signed up for this that they were on their own. The fact that they’d been captured meant that they would either be killed, or by some miracle they would be freed. It looked like they would most likely die from starvation before that.
Well, some of them might make it. It appeared as though the other Captain had been around long enough to play nice with some of the White Moon, as they didn’t seem to treat her as poorly as some of the others, himself included. At least that increased her chances, and he found that he couldn’t bring himself to fault her for it.
“Blood Moon?” he asked curiously, He thought he’d heard the term used in passing when trying to learn more about the Negaverse, but he still wasn’t sure what it was.

"A faction within the White Moon court, or maybe a separation from it," Zircon explained, leaning back as she thought to herself. "White Moon senshi who felt like brutality should be met with brutality. They captured a number of officers a few years back, tortured them for information, killed others." She hadn't been there herself, either as captive or part of the rescue team, but she remembered the blank looks on the faces of survivors, the injured and the screaming.
"It was one of the few times that the senshi organized under one leader, and for what?" Zircon scoffed. "They turned to chaos anyway, becoming the mirror senshi. It's one of the many of Order's failings." Ares and her band of senshi had been a different brand of chaos, and they'd only been allied with the Negaverse for a short time, all things considered, but it was better than having them be White Moon.
"I'm not saying we're not in trouble here," the captain shrugged, trying to ease up on her shoulders. "But...it could have been worse?" She paused, her mouth crinkling into a dissatisfied twist.
"Probably shouldn't be saying things like that, in retropspect."

Jet stared in surprise at the Captain as she explained what the Blood Moon Court was, what they did, and how they turned to chaos in the end. So the Senshi have tried something like this in the past and then it ended up ruining them?
"Good," he said softly, feeling a little vindicated for what was happening to them. "Maybe the senshi and knights here will turn to Chaos, too." It was a nice thought, but he wasn't sure of the likelihood of that happening.
"Jet... That's my name," he said after a few moments. He was still relatively knew to the Negaverse. Only about a year and a half. He'd come a long way from when he'd joined just before his fifteenth birthday, but he still had a long way to go. If they got out alive.
"If they don't come for us, I'm not going down without a fight," he growled lowly as he stared at the cell door, as if daring for someone to come in. AMItotic Im so sorry. I thought I tagged this already. We can wrap soon if you'd like!

Listening to Jet talk made Zircon realize how incredibly young the officer was--so young to be captured and cornered and made to decide how he would die. It was part of what lent him such resolution, surely; it was easier to throw your life to a cause when you had lived so little of it. She almost felt pity for the boy, but with it a dim sense of camaraderie. At the very least, if she were to die here it would be in decent company.
"Mine's Zircon," she replied softly, choosing for once to drop the captain moniker. Bound in chains as they were, it was easy to feel vulnerable, like their titles didn't matter anymore. "They'll come for us, or we'll claw our way out. You have my word." Was she saying that for her benefit, or his? She tried not to think too hard on it--she was still clearly the superior officer in terms of experience, it was on her to keep composure and bolster morale.Guine No worries! I think we can work towards a wrap in the next post or so? <3

Jet nodded determinedly when the woman named Zircon agreed that they would fight their way out of they had to. He hoped she was right in that they others would come for them, but since it had been a while, he didn't know if that was going to be a case or not.
He could only hope, and despite being in pain and exhausted and hungry and cold, he already swore to himself that he would fight however hard he could in order to get out. They just needed the right opportunity. Perhaps an unsuspecting knight or Senshi who offered them sympathy. They could escape then.
"We'll make it out," he said softly. It was intended for her benefit to let her know that he was in agreement, but it was just as much for himself to keep him from giving into despair.
Just a little longer...
