Youma constituted exactly half the reason Scholomance learned to prefer rooftops, while the other half consisted of civilians with far too much restless energy. Beyond that, he disliked the attention brought to his uniform or its bone accoutrements. He was, regrettably, quite easy to relate to the war because of them. If he were still a page, he might've gotten away with pretending to be some obscure anime character, or had gotten confused on the color palette for one of the many permutations of goth. Becoming a squire taught him that civilians will assume he's up to no good, the White Moon will look at him as a part of the Negaverse at first glance, and the Negaverse will see him as a knight.
Exactly none of these panned out well.
Scholomance wasn't interested in an auditory announcement of his presence on the rooftop, so he elected to migrate and lose the youma-dog. Even as he jumped parapets with relative ease, however, the creature below scampered relentlessly to keep up with him. It scrambled under fences, around dumpsters, and even between couples as its attention fixated on the knight. The more buildings he crossed, the harder the youma pursued. Scholomance made it a point to venture further into the city's heart, where he might find some basic White Moon for him to fob off the youma, but he found little more than a pair of signatures in the hazy vicinity. They were far still, he knew, but quite present. And stationary.
Once he ascertained the direction, Scholomance broke into as much of a sprint he could manage with an injured leg, and passed along the many ledges for the pair of knights to come into clearer view. He heard a crash and squeal, then a car horn, and the lack of youma aura tailing him confirmed an end to his pursuer. He promptly dropped the sprint, though he continued to advance on the larger building. Upon closer inspection, it looked about five stories - a gap in height that proved surmountable for him - and possibly designed by a Gehry imposter. Nonetheless, he leapt the distance, and spotted the page and squire in crowning the building.
Saturn knights, interestingly enough. "Saturn seems a popular choice lately, doesn't it?" He approached slowly, and summoned his cane to rest his leg. "Scholomance, of... I'm sure you can guess. Am I interrupting something?"
