A veritable mountain of candy was gathered together, and the Witch was positively giddy. She clapped her hands and bounced on her toes as she looked at her hoard. "This is perfect! We might have enough now!"
The girl turns to face you, beaming ear to ear. "I have all the candy I need! Thank you so much! Now, I just need to get it all home... I'm going to leave the imps here to clean up, but I'll need help getting through the woods... I know! You can escort me! It will be fun! We'll get all this loaded up and head out today!"
Once you return, the Witch has loaded all of her candy into an ebony wagon, covered with a deep purple canvas, drawn by skeletal horses.
As you set out, the Witch takes the reins, guiding the wagon deep into the woods. After a short time, twilight descends on the Gloomwood, and a shuffling is heard in the trees.
Pulling the reins softly, the Witch looks around as the wagon draws to a halt.
The girl peers into the trees, her eyes glowing softly. "Oh... Oh no. I was afraid this might happen. They must have smelled the candy! We have to stop them!" The Witch stands up, waving her hand and conjuring a twisted ebony staff, wrapped in purple strips of leather, from the air. The staff begins to glow as the Witch channels her power into the weapon. The shuffling in the trees grows louder and shapes are seen in the darkness. Soon, a horde of people are surrounding the wagon, and approach from all directions. As they draw near, you can make out the faces of the shambling creatures. They appear to have once been human, but their bodies are rotting and some are missing entire body parts. "The candy zombies! We have to stop them! There's no telling how much damage they could cause with this amount of candy!" As the zombies gather, they begin rocking the wagon, and its axle snaps as it rolls to the side, throwing the Witch to the ground, interrupting her spell as she slips into unconsciousness. "Please... You have to... Stop them..."

The candy zombies are attacking! You have to stop them from stealing all of the Witch's candy! Hold back the waves of enemies until the Witch wakes up!

Lambent Zombie: a zombie covered with pustules that shine brightly. On death, deals 50% of its own max health as damage to all monsters. Jumper: A lanky zombie bent at unnatural angles, capable of leaping great distances. Leaps directly to candy. HP: 10 attack: no attack defense: static 40 1st round: grabs 3 pieces of candy 2nd round: leaving wagon 3rd round: leaves combat

Hoarder: A zombie with a grotesque, distended stomach. Maggot: An utterly gigantic maggot. When it reaches the wagon, it explodes, releasing 4 standard zombies. Crawler: A zombie that keeps its candy in its mouth. When killed, it separates at the waist and continues crawling with its hands. Loses 1 round when killed. Roper: A zombie whose intestines have spilled out. Once it reaches the wagon, it will target the farthest monster approaching the wagon, and pull it immediately to the candy. HP: 20 attack: no attack defense: static 50 1st round: approaches wagon 2nd round: approaching wagon 3rd round and on: pulls one monster to wagon
Hurler: A zombie whose lower half is gone. It has gigantic arms, and uses them to throw one monster a round to the wagon. HP: 100 attack: no attack defense: static 60 all rounds: throws one monster that spawned this round to the wagon.
Revenant: A zombie clad in armor, dragging a sword behind it. HP: 200 attack: roll3+20 defense: roll3+20 all rounds: attack, stops when dead.
Horseman: A headless horseman. Rides in and out of battle, collecting candy and attacking players at random. HP: 300 attack: roll3+40 defense: roll3+40 1st round: enter combat, attack. 2nd round: grab 10 candy, attack 3rd round: leave with candy, attack. Continues until dead.
Wraith: A spirit, wandering the battlefield and channeling unnatural energy into all creatures. Its attack heals monsters as if their defense was 0. HP: 100 attack: roll3+30 defense: roll3+0 1st round: ethereal, immune to damage, heals all mobs, attacks all players. 2nd round: heals all mobs, attacks all players. repeat until dead.

Satisfied, Alyx watched as the zombies shambled toward the covered wagon. He wasn't entirely sure that he understood what was going on, but he had worked way too hard to gather all of this candy to just let it get hauled off without any sort of struggle. They had to protect this candy. He darted toward the nearest zombie, slashing at it with Gloomshard. These things were already falling apart, he didn't imagine that they would be too durable. He figured that he and Rota could decimate them, and they'd be able to handle them for as long as it took. Gods that felt a long ways away. Had he really come such a long way in such a short time? It had felt like years. Regardless, his blade charged with Red light as he dashed forward to meet the oncoming horde. He got within one step of them and pivoted on his left heel, his cloak billowing with the clockwise motion. Tiny embers escaped the Demon Warrior's teeth as he turned pack on the zombies and slashed across them from left to right. He was not going to let these ill-preserved hunks of meat get their decaying mitts on a single piece if he could help it. Rota's blade had made sure of that. He turned up to see his handiwork, and saw more zombies coming at them with swords. That was fine, his was better. He had no idea how many were going to come, so he had to store up some energy for the long haul. He just hoped there was an end to this. He had had his fill of ceaseless monotony for 11 lifetimes. He saw all of them pile onto Alyx and was almost taken aback by what he saw. He couldn't focus on that right now, though, he had to peel these freaks off of his friend. He brought up Neo Abyssian above his head and forced it downward upon the nearest zombie. With a great flash, a fog poured out of the trees, filling the clearing with a miasmic cloud. As the mist wrapped around the wagon, it carried the zombies, the Witch, and the candy away with it. The fog begins to travel through the woods, like a sickly rolling wave, an ooze sliming its way across the map.
A woman's shrill voice cries out from the night: "Mine! It's all mine!"
Following the fog, the characters will see it pour into a cave, carved into the face of a cliff. The mouth of the cave was a literal mouth, a large skull opened its mouth in a silent roar as the storm was swallowed down its jagged throat.
As you enter the jagged maw, a soft howling is carried from the depths of the cavern, and moaning is heard from a much closer proximity.
A woman's voice echoes through your bones: "You would fight for her? You fools! You will never reach me, and with every second you take, I only grow stronger! Turn back if you wish to survive, venture forward if you dare!"
There are thirteen rooms to the dungeon, and they will be progressed through in order, from one to thirteen.

Alyx chased the fog without hesitation as soon as he saw that the Witch was missing. The trees raced by as his armored feet pounded the earth, and his eyes were locked on the retreating event quest. Once he reached the mouth of the cave, he stopped, looking at the wrathful, gaping maw of the skull, and its jagged fangs. He took a breath and stepped through the jaws into the darkness and listening as the voice warned them to turn back. But that wasn't really an option, now was it? Alyx wasn't going to have victory snatched away like this. Not when they were this close to the end of the event.
"No! Stay away! It's too dangerous!"
Well, that certainly made the decision easier. Alyx checked his shield, which was coated in a layer of frost, and his sword, which shone even in the low light. He began walking forward, until he saw a small group of candy zombies. "Oh, more of these things. Okay."

Alyx caught the zombies on his shield, and he was blasted back as they struck him all at once. The layer of frost that had gathered on his shield exploded, and the shards of ice glittered in the low light. Alyx' breath was visible in the air as he panted. It must be cold in here. He lifted himself to his feet and rolled his shoulders and neck, preparing for the next onslaught. He wasn't going to be able to go on the offensive. Not with this many enemies. He had to keep them busy while Rota dealt with them, at least for a moment. Rota's suckerpunch caught them full on the chin, roughly halving the total amount of hit points on the enemy's field. Alyx' own health was reduced somewhat, though not enough to truly hurt him. He shook his head. He had lost a decent amount of energy on that hit, though, even if it wasn't health. He had to be more careful.

The light from his blade faded and he started to fend of the Zombies from Alyx, but one of them decided to step right in his way. Not an intelligent decision while Rota was in this state of mind. Embers danced out of his mouth as he hefted his blade up over his head and slammed it down on the offending undead. Alyx' sword tore through one of the zombies like it was a sack of rotting flesh... Which is actually a pretty accurate comparison. As he focused on offense, the monsters clawed at him, and nicked away at his health. He wasn't safe in this place. He was in awe of how far he'd fallen from the top of the food chain. This was unacceptable. He needed some way to become stronger, but he'd already hit his skill caps. Without climbing higher in the game, he wasn't entirely sure how he was supposed to become a force to be reckoned with again. He certainly couldn't whittle himself something useful. He wasn't any good at working metal. He was good at killing things... Well, he used to be good at killing things. He was at a serious point in the development of his character wherein he was almost entirely unable to further his development without simply plunging through the dungeons. Which, he supposed, was an option. But he'd been pushed to his limits in the first dungeon, as short-handed as they were. This even dungeon was doing nothing to increase his confidence, either. He shook his head. Who knows? He needed to kill something. "Oh, look. A volunteer."

He was fairly confident he could kill these things even without the weakening from spin in one shot. Regardless he had to keep fighting. Alyx seemed to be taking some hits so he needed to get the Zombies off him. Just as he thought that, the zombies all turned to look at him. Comforting as that was, it wasn't ideal at all. One of them seemed to be particularly excited in chomping his face off, so Rota decided to deny him the hardest by thrusting Neo Abyssian at its neck of the eager zombie horizontally. This would be a fantastic decapitation if he had his way. Alyx' blade pierced the zombie's chest and ripped his blade to the side, tearing a jagged hole in the creature's torso. Unlike the typical explosion of light, though, the monsters were left strewn across the ground in pieces as Alyx and Rota carved their path through the cavern. This seemed odd to Alyx, but it may just be that they were already dead. Or it could be some sort of ludicrous bullshit that the administrators had devised to utterly ******** this entire dungeon up. They didn't have time to worry about it, though. There seemed to be a strong incentive to drive deeper into the event as quickly as possible, and that didn't leave much time for looting or thinking. He hefted his shield and aimed to intercept the next and final zombie so that Rota could dispatch it.
