Was patrolling a good idea with energy to collect?

Cordoba had no idea. Like many things, she knew absolutely jack-all about everything going on around her, at least, outside of working on restoring her wonder. Power helped. Small, but it meant not tripping. But there was much to do, and the collection of energy for Caedus, and then merely avoiding trouble, so when Cordoba was walking the route she usually took tonight, the page was deep in thought, studying the concrete on the sidewalk as she walked along, and the woman didn't particularly check for auras, instead wondering if her coworkers even noticed her new 'stress stone' was taking anything.

Still, a stress stone excuse meant energy, and nobody seemed to steal it, making a win in her book.

Now what was she doing again?

And Cordoba styopped, blinking.

"s**t."

“I think you should watch your language, kitten.” Cavansite had been following at some distance from the page for at least the last block, and when she had stopped walking, the lieutenant had taken the chance and plopped to the ground, her fairy wand pointed right at the other woman’s face.

Her eyes slid up and down the page and a slight frown formed on her face. This one was different. This was not a silly prancing senshi, and this was not one of those meddlesome cosmos knights she kept running into either. This one…she had black on her, had darker colors…but she felt off. She felt like one from the white moon. Was she an agent? Just…tainted? What the hell.

“Just what the hell are you, kitten? You’re nothing I’ve faced before.” And she didn’t like that. How was she to know there were other types of knights? How was she to know that when she had only met those from cosmos. No, she was completely in the dark.

Again.

And she hated being in the dark.

Cordoba practically screeched in surprise, and her weapon popped into her hand as she held it defensively, more a shield and she peered over the edge with large teal eyes. She was ambushed?! SHE WAS AMBUSHED, AND THIS WAS NOT COOL.

The Mercury pge was glad not to be carrying the crystal at that moment, instead large, wide eyes watching the Lieutenant suspiciously,. She didn't feel as strong as Richterite, but she was already possibly more dangerous.

"Cordoba. Of Mercury." She said, in a tone well used to giving that as her page title. "I'm a page."
PostPosted: Sun Jan 24, 2016 9:43 pm

Mercury? She didn’t really understand, but…she understood that this was something different. Something new to her, something she maybe should have been told about at some point in time thank you very much. Now she was going to have to research things and it would take up time and…

And maybe she could just have her students do some sort of paper on the solar system. A work of fiction…yes that would indeed be interesting, wouldn’t it.

“Cordoba, did you say? What a fascinating name…did you pick it out yourself? You know what I like to pick out of people like you?”

She gave a small grin, forcing all of her annoyed doubts to the bottom of her mind. And took a slow step forward, holding out her hand as if to shake the page’s.

“Starseeds. I’ve gotten myself quite a collection. I took one from…well, someone like you the other day, in fact. Only she wasn’t of Mercury. She was of cosmos, I believe she said. What a pretty girl she was…it was ever so fun to watch the light leave her eyes as I held her beautiful soul in my hands.”

Cavansite took another step forward, her smile growing ever more dangerous. “Would you like to give something to my collection, Cordoba…or should I just take something from you instead…”

SHE KILLED A KNIGHT. Cordoba immediately began thinking to paint - an anonymous painting, but one for the poor page or... Whichever Cavansite had murdered, to ensure SOMEONE remembered. And then she realized the Lieutenant might kill her next, and the thich disc flipped to shield her chest. Her breath began coming faster, heart throbbing and palms shaking as she stared at Cavansite and tried to breath calmly.

"No." She said, trying to be firm. "No soul for you."

And she was SO hoping she could protect herself, the page trying to simultaniously guard her chest and look fearsome at the same time.

It didn't go well, truly.

Cavansite put on her best pout, though she couldn’t hold it for very long before bursting into laughter that was quite mocking. “No soul for me, hm? Well, I never.”

She nudged the tip of her fairy wand onto Cordoba’s record and applied some pressure, hoping to at least get it to move down a bit so she could grab the girl’s starseed. It would look ever so nice on one of those lovely earrings that the one Cosmos knight had provided. Yes indeed it would.

However, the glowing item in the page’s hair drew the lieutenant’s attention for a moment, and with another grin, she let the fairy wand drop and moved one hand swiftly at the page’s chest, punching as hard as she could, while the other reached up and made to snatch the hairpin.

Distractions were the best. For real.

Cordoba panicked at the sudden motion, but instead of bolting like part of her swore was sensible, the Page staggered back, grunting before the corner of her eye ticked at the hand in her hair, and the page did the only thing that came to mind. Keeping her disc close to her chest, the page moved to kick rapiudly, hissing as fight or flight kicked in - and her brain was swearing to everything she was cornered.

"SHOVE OFF!"
PostPosted: Mon Jan 25, 2016 9:06 am

Cavansite didn’t expect the flurry of quickly moving legs coming from the page, though she supposed she should have, seeing as the woman seemed to be made of nothing but legs, so, there was that. But, happily her fingers had closed on the hairpin, and she had yanked it out of Cordoba’s hair the second she had the chance. “Thank you for your contribution to my stash, little page.”

She opened her subspace pocket and tossed the trinket in there before the page had a chance to take it back and dove out of the way of one of her flying feet, rolling to grab her fairy wand once more.

Upon standing, Cavansite moved her arm out, giving the Mercury page a good thwack right on the head with the wand, only to receive a great kick to the knees a split second after. Oh s**t. That hurt.

She felt one of her knees buckle and took a wobbly step backwards, not wanting the page to see that she had made a hit, not wanting to appear weak. That was dangerous

Twiitch.

One hand went to Cordoba's hair, rubbing the pulled area as hair fell out of her ponytail loosely, and the Page winced at being smacked, eyes narrowing after her kicks seemed to connect, and she hissded like a small kettle, before charging, trying to...

Bludgeon with her disc. It wasn't the best idea, but one hand soon resumed guarding her chest, the page squeaking her indignation.

"How! Dare! You!"
PostPosted: Mon Jan 25, 2016 4:02 pm

This girl was putting way too much of her energy into rage…it was terribly amusing. She was almost like a small rodent or something, puffing up to appear larger and more frightening…it was almost cute, to be honest. “How dare I? Well, kitten, I dare because I can. I am part of a group that is stronger than you, better than you. One day, maybe you’ll learn that and make the right choice to join the winning side, kitten.”

The words tumbled from her mouth before she really had a chance to think about them and she seemed almost slightly amused. If her fellow agents could become traitors and become…knights…why couldn’t it go the other way around?

Cavansite applied a bit of pressure to her injured knee and was pleased to see that it wasn’t hurt as bad as she had first thought, if anything it would just be a bad bruise. She took advantage of Cordoba’s blundering and moved behind her, wrapping an arm around her middle and running a hand through her hair.

“You’d look much prettier in the colors of the Negaverse, chaos would make you shine, darling.”

Cordoba very much preferred Richterite, she thought, especually the moment she was grabbed Her muscles tensed uptightly, and the pge's hands shot to press to her chest tightly, eyes narrowing a bit as she forced herself not to grow hysterical.

"Small problem. Don't want the lights to go out." Cordoba drawled. "And I doubt ya'll have a black light."

The page tried to elbow back, far more panicked than she wanted to let on, and certainly confused.

Was this agent crazy? This agent had to be crazy.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 25, 2016 4:31 pm

“Well…next time then, dear.” Cavansite ran her fingers through the page’s hair once more and finally brushed the hair over her shoulder, kissing the back of her neck ever so lightly before letting the page go and disappearing into the night.

If anything, she had gotten a lovely little trinket out of this, and she had scared the living daylights out of someone. It had been a terribly successful night, if she said so herself. Cordoba was quite lovely though, and Cavansite did think she would look even better in darker colors…

Maybe next time indeed.

Cordoba was, for lack of a better idea or term, successfully freaked out indeed, the page wide eyed and even frazzled as she stood a moment, and, finally realizing Cavansite wasgone, she turned, looking around with wide eyes before slowly deciding to find a safe space to power down. All in all, she really wanted a hot bath, some good gothic industrial or retrowave now, and maybe a pint or two of ice cream with a carolina reaper topping it (she had earned cracking the jar pen) and the page shuddered, powering down in hiding before Kestrel began to beeline for her apartment.

If most Negaverse agents fought like that, Kes wanted tips and soon.

Maybe more weapons too.
