Valhalla went out without his wife knowing. He knew she would be upset with him if she knew he went to see the mysterious man who’d given them the crystals. Perhaps, if he had things such as these crystals, then he might have something that could help mend a starseed.
“Good evening,” he greeted softly once he finally located the man close to where he’d last seen him a few nights ago. “How are you feeling? I wasn’t sure what anyone else brought you, but I have some bottles of water and some sandwiches. And a blanket. It’s getting really cold out. Are you sure you don’t want better shelter?” he started, although he realized he was rambling and stopped, hopefully before he overwhelmed the man.
“I’m Valhalla… I’m sorry about my wife the other night… she’s a bit… passionate about things,” he explained, keeping his distance until he was given indication that it was okay to approach.

Caedus watched as the man approached, and listened curiously. His eerie gaze remained on Valhalla the whole time, though he slowly tilted his head when the man mentioned his wife. There was a severe lack of understanding, and then his eyes flashed, as though it had suddenly come to him. "The Outspoken Princess is your wife?" He recalled the two of them interacting, though their words were faint in his mind. "…I do not suppose she is very happy that you have come here tonight?" he prompted slowly. He did not take any steps to approach the male, but neither did he shy away. "…Or that you would bring me such aid?" His eyes darted to the supplies for only a second and then settled back on Valhalla's face. His voice was gravely, and worn, but it seemed almost gentler, now. It almost sounded like it was healing, a bit, but it was hard to say when it still had such an inhuman sound about it.

”No, she’s not very happy,” he admitted sheepishly and with a small smile. “But these are from her,” he indicated to the sandwiches, holding up what he was carrying. Ganymede was wary of the stranger, but not heartless. She knew Valhalla would have gone with or without her help, so at least this way she was doing what she could to help and not have to speak to Caedus directly.
“She means well. When we’re all gathered together, things tend to get a bit… well, you heard the fight that broke out, I’m guessing. And we’ve all had our own trouble with the Negaverse and outsiders before,” he tried to explain, recalling the incident with the shadow clones, and Ganymede told him about a snow queen one Christmas.
“How are you feeling? Is there anything I can bring you?” he asked, taking a step closer to set the supplies down on the ground before stepping back once more.

Caedus seemed to respect the gesture and bowed his head slightly. "Please give your wife my regards and my thanks. If she would have them. The cold is unpleasant, and I find that I have an insatiable hunger, but that of all things is not so terrible. I am breathing free air and can see the stars and watch the city and speak. I am well enough, thank you." He did not immediately move towards the offering, perhaps because he was simply in no rush or because he was concerned with appearances, but he laced his fingers together in front of him. "I have heard rumblings of outsiders and attacks. Are you all really so worried? You have defeated all threats, I see," he mused, glancing around the city, and then finally back at Valhalla. "Or so it would seem. You are truly a force to be reckoned with. Do you have so much to fear?"

Valhalla was concerned by some of the comments Caedus said, wondering just what this man went through in however many years he had been locked away, but he didn’t comment on it just yet. He didn’t want to bring up anything that might prompt painful memories, or seem rude for being intrusive.
When asked if he was so worried about outsiders attacking, Valhalla smiled sadly. “The only way we were able to protect the Earth was with the help of the Negaverse. We wouldn’t have been able to do it on our own. If ridding the world of the Negaverse is the next step for us, then yes, I do worry about what could happen in the future. Some of the officers are horrible, vicious people, but I can’t believe that they’re all bad. There are officers I know and care about. Some have been purified into knights, but others are to the point where they can’t get out.”
Valhalla paused for a long moment, hoping that Caedus would be understanding, but since he didn’t know anything about this man, it was definitely a risk.
“I know they’ve done horrible things. They still do horrible things. But we’re not all innocent, either.” Another pause, and then, “With your help of course… what if, instead of continuing to fight, we use this opportunity to try and negotiate with them? I know it sounds impossible, given their history, but… it’s Chaos we need to destroy… not those who have been caught up in all this.”

"If you can purify them, then the Chaos was not strong enough. Perhaps there was not enough in their heart for it to cling to. But I do not think negotiations are an option. If you will forgive me, but," he sounded slightly bitter. "Negotiations were what got me into this whole mess. I had faith that they could be reasoned with. Sometimes it takes a great act to shake the chaos. I have faith in only that. I do not think they can be saved. Forgive me," he said, and almost even sounded genuinely apologetic, but there was bitterness in his voice. "I have lost my faith in the Negaverse. I do not think any good of them. Even if they helped protect your planet from outsiders, it does not redeem them. Besides." He looked at the Knight. "If you were not a always fighting them, would you not already be stronger in morale and numbers?"

Valhalla figured he would say as much. It was the same thing most people tended to say when faced with the choice of trying to potentially waste their time, energy, and maybe even lives in order to discuss different options with the Negaverse. As it were, he knew it was pretty hopeless, but also that if enough banned together, maybe they could make a difference.
“I understand,” Valhalla said softly, and while he looked a little sad, he wasn’t angry. “If we weren’t always fighting them, we wouldn’t need to be stronger in morale and numbers. Without the Negaverse here, there’s no point for knights or senshi to be awakened. Did you know there are young children being caught up in this meaningless war? Child senshi who, most of the time, have more passion than the adults. Without the Negaverse to fight… once we obtain peace… I fully intend on living a normal life with my family. That’s my ultimate goal.”

"I did," Caedus replied. "I have met a few. They seem very valiant for their young age. One came to me and told me how she managed to grow from a Chibi. I find her very admirable to have survived and kept her optimism in the way that she has. But I suppose all children and those full of youth have the capacity to see the good in life. Even when faced with war." He shrugged. "But I worry for those who see the good in everything. There is not always good. They wind up hurt, and destroyed, before they have learned such a thing. I would not wish that on anyone. It is best to accept that some things are just evil. Some people are just not worth trying to save."
