Miranda had picked out the food she wanted from the offerings at the cafeteria. The tray in her hands held a couple of different things, but it wasn't exactly overflowing with food: a carton of milk, a slice of cheese pizza, and a small cup of pudding.
Normally, she ate more than this, but she was feeling a bit nervous. Something about tests just gave her a bit of a terror now and again.
She moved to the nearest empty seat she could find and plopped herself down at a seat and then proceeded to have a staring contest with the pizza.

Olga had been sitting nearby, multitasking. She was eating and reading, her own slice of pepperoni pizza in her mouth with one hand while the other was resting on the propped book in front of her tray. Out of nosy habit, she glanced over at the girl who happened to sit nearby, and then went back to her book. The lack of movement in her peripheral vision though registered as an oddity, so Olga ended up looking over at her again. She blinked, amused at the girl seemed to be having a staring contest with her pizza, and laughed. "Hate to break it to you, but I think the cheese will win! Yanno---since cheese doesn't blink."

She started a bit, her bottom becoming estranged from the seat for a second or two before she settled again. Miranda looked over at the source of the voice and put on a bit of a grin and sighed softly, "I know. It cheats, but I can't help it. I always hope that one time.. I'll get the magical blinking cheese version."
There is no such cheese.
Even if there were? She wasn't sure she'd be able to eat it after it blinked at her. She finally moved to open her carton of milk, "I just was hoping I could get the nerve up to eat. Ever get so nervous that you can't eat? Never thought that'd happen to me."
Maybe talking about it would help ease her nerves and also get some of her appetite back.

Olga laughed. "Man, the day that happens---cheese that blinks back---I'll have to seriously rethink my life choices." She grinned, but her expression soon shifted into a thoughtful one as her black eyes rolled up to the ceiling, briefly. "Huh...yanno, don't ever think I have---I think I have the opposite problem---I get nervous or anxious and then I eat everything in sight!" Her hands made a 'jazz hands' motion to indicate 'everything', and she then tilted her head. "How come you're nervous?"

"That's the day when the cheese uprising will start in earnest," she said sagely with a small nod of her head. It will all start with blinking cheese, it made complete sense. Hide your kids, hide your wives...
It's about to get cheesy.
She blinked out of her thoughts to pay attention to what the other was saying, "I sorta wish I could be like that right now," Miranda laughed cheerfully. "Oh...Uh...Well I wanted to broaden my horizons I guess. I decided to pick up a language course and .. It isn't going so swell," her expression was a wry smile as she gazed down at her food again.
Miranda didn't regret anything, but at the moment she wasn't feeling confident about her decisions either.

Olga paused. "...Well, that cheese is gonna have a bad time with the people who are lactose intolerant!" She grinned, and then listened, nodding her head a bit. "Ah! That's really cool though---what language did you pick up? Hey, don't stress! They have tutoring here at DCU, yanno, if you need help! I imagine they have someone fluent in all the languages offered here." Actually...speaking of...maybe she should see if there was a tutor who spoke Russian... for reasons.

"Think that cheese is going to have a worse time with people that really, really love cheese. Enough that it doesn't matter if it blinks before they eat it..." Miranda's cheese uprising seemed to have a very abrupt end, but a definitely true one. Never underestimate the love of cheese in some folk.
Miranda merely only liked cheese. She wouldn't be the one to end the possible rebellion.
"I picked up French. The history and all that interests me a lot! I just can't seem to wrap my head around some of the language peculiarities. Though, come to think of it, all of Europe interests me." Miranda shrugged a little bit, "But I guess that is anyone that didn't grow up there, huh?"
The idea of tutoring didn't seem to enter her headspace at least until it just got mentioned, "Oh! That's true. I usually try to do it on my own to see if I can figure out, sometimes my pride will be my downfall," she grinned a little. Miranda seemed to be cheering up a little, enough to where she finally took a bite of her pizza after she had a sip of milk. "M'name is Miranda by the way," She said after she took a moment to enjoy her bite of food. Lucyal so like this entire time... i'd quoted myself and didn't realize it til jusssssssst now. >>a;;

Olga laughed at that, and nodded her head enthusiastically. "True story!" She had a feeling that idea was pretty spot on for people who didn't grow up there. "That's a pretty popular one---I imagine you won't have trouble finding some help---oh, well, I can get that! Have you tried poking around youtube, too? They have a lot of videos on there for languages---yanno, for pronunciation and what not. Probably got something to cover the unique vowel sounds and what not!" She gave the girl a fox eyed grin, and held out a hand to her. "Nice to meet you, Miranda! I'm Olga!" Pales IN WHICH I TAKE FOREVER TO TAG working life NOOO

"Ahhh! I get linked to so many silly things on youtube by my friends online I sorta forget that they have some very legitimate and helpful videos somewhere in that whole mess," Miranda chuckled, somewhat embarrassed.
Miranda's embarrassment turned into a grin as she shook hands with Olga, "I'm Miranda! Pleased to meet my hero and savior," she teased lightly.
She let go of Olga's hand so she could resume eating lunch, "What are you in for? Any particular program?" Lucyal -Pets.- It's ok. I'm struggling with stuff myself irl and healthwise. WHEEE.
