Ok maybe she was being overzealous about this. Overenthusiastic. But she had so many blankets back in her apartment... and ok might have bought a few more because she was kinda sentimentally attached to a few of hers....
The point was.
Cassiopeia carried with her a puffy grey chetah-spotted comforter, bundled up around a few smaller, though fluffier, grey and beige throw blankets. Carrying it all like a freaking blanket Santa Claus, she realized she must have looked like quite the fool.
"I mean, even if he's a synthetic life-form... he definitely looked like he could use some actual cover from the cold..." Her justification--which was... largely against her own debates rather than against the guardian himself--was directed towards Pyewacket, glancing down at the guardian as she wrestled with herself on if she should... not bring so many. It was only like.... three. The comforter, and the two throws, but.
Maybe she was being too forward?
"Or maybe he'd have preferred food..? Oh." She paused a bit in her steps, frowning a bit as a thought struck her. "...maybe I should have gotten like... a few books on some of Earth's history, or maybe some maps of the area... so he could get better reacquainted with things..." For a moment, the senshi was very... very tempted to turn back around and head back towards the city to acquire such things. But it was night now, and the more she thought on it... the more she realized most stores that would have anything reasonable on those subjects would be closed.
Next time then, if he was interested in such things.
Once they'd hit the frozen grass at the base of the hill Caedus had been at during the meeting, she slowed down, looking around carefully. The crystal was tucked away in a little pouch she tied to the top of one of her boots to keep it on her while she was powered. Not against her skin--for now--though she had passed out the night before after experimenting with it to see how long it really would take for the crystal to make her conk out.
And she'd awoken that morning to find she was doing a-ok after some food and taking it easy for the day.
"Excuse me, Caedus, sir?" She looked about for the strange man, wondering if he was back up at the top of the hill, or if he'd gone... elsewhere. "Are you around?"

Trotting alongside the senshi of Wonder, Pyewacket had to agree. As much as he still mistrusted Caedus, as much as he still wanted Cassiopeia to have nothing to do with him, he could not deny that the strange person's cloak was more than a bit worn and tattered. And he wouldn't deny Caedus the creature comfort of warmth in the winter. Though he did feel Cas might have gone a little overboard, with the comforter and two blankets… The mention of food caught his attention a little (he was a cat, after all), but it was the idea of giving Caedus some books that made the guardian's ears perk up. "Oh, books! That is an excellent idea. I know just the ones too. I might even be able to sneak them out of the store for you." Then he caught himself and shook his head, sending the bell on his collar jingling. What was he saying? Was he really talking about helping the stranger? Blankets and creature comforts were one thing, but books were knowledge, and knowledge was power. And he wasn't sure he was prepared to go quite that far. Though the crystal hadn't seemed to have harmed her, and for that he was grateful. Maybe it was as Caedus had said. Maybe he was what he seemed, an ally. They reached the base of the hill, and as Cas called out for Caedus, Pye sniffed the air, trying to detect the scent of age and dust he'd gotten at the meeting. "Are you sure he's here?"

"I am here," a voice confirmed, from some shadows just off in the distance. There was movement almost immediately after the voice; Caedus removed himself from the shadows and hesitantly meandered towards the two. He seemed wary of being outnumbered, but he seemed a bit perplexed with Cassiopeia's cargo. Still, neither Pyewacket nor Cassiopeia had been problematic at the meeting, and he did not feel as though he had any reason to mistrust them or be alarmed by their presence. "…Are you not inconvenienced with such weight?" he asked Cassiopeia, fingers laced and hands folded neatly before him. "…Do you need aid?"

Cassiopeia smirked down at Pye, lifting a brow. Looks like the bug hadn't just bitten her when it came to trying to offer some assistance to Caedus. Or maybe it was just the book lure with Pye. Hey, either way. "If you can sneak them out, that'd be awesome--but if not, just lemme know the titles and I can come by the store during the day and buy 'em." After all, she had no qualms supporting local stores. And what she'd seen of the place did entice her to keep coming back and poke around the store itself--even outside of Pye's apparent home there.
Snickering at the jingle and leaning down a bit to ruffle his head, she straightened just in time to catch the question from the feline. "Um... I thought so? At least, I thought he said he'd be staying around--- ah!"
Her murmurs were cut off by the voice and movement. "Hello!" Smiling brightly, she moved towards Caedus, keeping a respectful distance once they were in comfortable speaking range. Though his question made her blink a bit, looking over at the sack of blankets she had on her shoulder. "Aw, thanks for asking, but nah, these are really light. Especially when I'm powered up. Gives a boost." Moving her shoulder to let the bag fall forward, she held the makeshift blanket bag towards Caedus. "They're blankets actually. For you. I um... I figured you'd be cold out here, so I wanted to bring you some in case you wanted them."
She tried to maintain her enthusiasm and cheer, but faltered a bit as she definitely felt like she was being way too bold. Probably should of asked first before she did this... doh!

Pyewacket advanced toward Caedus as Cassiopeia did, keeping close to her. The strange person seemed harmless enough, almost hesitant in his movements. Understandable; if what he said he had been through was true, he had every reason to be wary and cautious around others. To signal that he meant no harm, the cat raised his plume of a tail, curling the tip in the universally-understood (at least among cats) signal that I'm interested in being a friend. In truth, he was still quite uncertain of Caedus, but so far the stranger had shown no hostile intent. And Cas seemed quite trustful of him, and he had a good feeling of how the senshi handled herself -- he should, he'd awakened her after all. "Yes, we thought you might appreciate the additional warmth on these chilly nights," Pye said in as friendly a tone as he could.

It was cold, and the promise of warmth was something Caedus had no intent of escaping, though he was not as confident in his ability to carry anything that large. Reluctantly, he reached out to take what she offered. His arm sagged when he moved to take the weight form her, but he was steady—even if he did set it down on the ground next to him a second later. "Thank you," he said, glancing down at it. "I will make good use of this." He glanced towards the trees in the distance. "I will take them over there in a bit. The trees provide the best shelter. You are both very considerate." He glanced between the two of them. He did not seem particularly wordly, but he was not intending to be rude. "Is there anything I can do for you in exchange?"

Cassiopeia had taken a step forward to help him with the load, wincing at how heavy it... apparently was. Oops. "If you want help bringing them over to the trees, let me know," she offered as she stepped back, not wanting to crowd him or freak him out or anything.
Relieved that he was taking them--god that'd have been embarrassing as hell to have him turn them down, ack...--she fiddled with the stars and chains on her uniform at his question, biting her lip a bit. "Um... well..." A million questions raced around her head, trying to jump to the front of the line on her tongue. Glancing down at Pye, she finally opted for the most... polite start. "If you had the time, would you be willing to answer some of our questions..?" She motioned to Pye, then herself, smiling sheepishly. "We both are... sort of the life-long learner types, I guess you can say. I'm studying at an institution here in the city to learn more about human cultures, and understand how different cultures arise, thrive... even fall, disperse, and so on." She wasn't sure if the term anthropology would mean anything to him specifically. "So, if you were willing... I'd like to ask you a few questions about your people, and where you come from as a whole..?"
Cassiopeia looked down to Pye, and she winced, smiling. "Though that's probably just the beginning of the curiosity..." Looking back to the robed man, she bit her tongue, refusing to mention that she'd only just been awakened. To already encounter a real alien....

Pyewacket nodded at Cassiopeia's description of them both as lifelong learners. He was desperately curious about Caedus, not just where he was from, but the mysterious aura he emanated, the true nature of his mission here, how he had managed to survive amongst the youma in the Rift. But under the circumstances, the Mauvian opted to let Cas take the lead in the questioning. For now. "I'd love to know about your background too," he said with a tilt of his head. "I live in a bookstore, so while I have access to books on all manner of subject, I feel it is best to learn from those with direct knowledge."

He raised a hand to dismiss the idea. "I am fine. This is good." He was already nodded at the request to answer questions; apparently he was extremely prepared to answer whatever he could. "I respect anyone who wishes to learn. I suspect my culture is very different from humans. I will answer what I can, but I must ask that you are specific." He seemed almost apologetic. "My people have history that spans…many years. It would be difficult to supply a succinct answer for something so extensive as my background." He glanced at the cat, though seemed caught on a thought. "You are very tiny to work in a bookstore. You must work very hard."
