"Right," confirmed Finn, proceeding to the super jerry-rigged kotatsu. With a flourish, he set the cheesecake down, and then got settled under the comforter and set about unwrapping it. "Jenna, could you grab some forks?"
Jenna nodded brightly and went to go pick through the silverware in the drying rack.
Finn looked back towards Laney, and held the comforter up invitingly. "This is cool," he said, and decided he wasn't going to comment on how she and Jenna could come live in Florence Court and have, for starters, a much nicer kitchen, lest she take it as an insult. He'd already made the offer - it was implied that it still stood.
"So," he said, "that thing just now."
Jenna took a place at the table and fanned the forks out in front of her. "I don't trust him," she said. "His aura feels like a hospital."
"We definitely need to be careful," agreed Finn, reaching for a fork. "I was thinking of asking the Code if it knew anything about Caedus or his homeworld, since it's supposed to omniscient. I know it's been weird lately, but I don't think it's completely useless."
It was a two-part problem, honestly - the Code's strange behavior, Caedus's sudden appearance - but you were supposed to use information from one part of a two-part problem to solve the other, right?
